Good stuff Jordan. Recently I became the caretaker of one of Red's "Freddie the Freeloader" hats from the 50s that Red gifted to a friend named F. Victor Larkin, who at the time was the CBS VP in charge of West Coast Facilities. At one time, he was the assistant to CBS' project engineer who was in charge of building Television City, Victor took over by 1955. Glad to see Mark Kratzner, he's a great guy! Glad to see you continue to represent the classics on your channel!
@@DazewithJordantheLion it's been a passion and privilege of mine to take care of the items I get to take care of. Hope to share some of them coming up, getting a bunch of stuff in for the archives of a Howdy Doody fan club I'm the social media manager for (like the Howdy in my profile picture, cast from the original). Sometimes, instead of you finding things, the pieces find you lol
I grew up watching The Red Skelton Show & I loved him dearly. The characters he did on the show; Clem Kadiddlehopper, Gertrude & Heathcliff were wonderful. Thank you for this Jordan! I hope you & Katie have a wonderful & Blessed Christmas!
Errol Flynn's last professional appearance was as a beatnik freeloader on Red's show. Young Beverley Aadland, Errol's final girlfriend also appeared on that episode. Red's show was an institution when I was a kid. Thanks Jordan.
I'm almost 70 years old and what great memories of watching Red Skelton on TV. Loved all of the characters he did, but when he did the Pledge of Allegiance WOW still makes me cry to this day. Thank you Jordan. Wising you and Katie a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Years.
This place is one of my favorite places! We spent my birthday there this year! The museum is absolutely qmazing ❤ Also Hank Kimball from Green Acres was born in Vincennes, IN!
This is a really impressive museum, made all the more impressive by an exceptionally knowledgeable gentleman - many thanks to him for this amazing tour. Also Jordan, many thanks for this episode and for the many terrific episodes you have given us over 2024. A Merry Christmas to you, Katie and Jah.
Red Skeleton was funny I liked his Show the Red Skeleton Show. I read a book about his life. I get books by mail from the napa county library. Nice childhood home of red Skeleton and nice museum for him I would love to visit the museum. Good vlog jordan
I remember watching Red Skelton on TV as a child. I loved his show and his specials. Thank you so much for sharing this. I may have to plan a trip up that way!
Thank you for this one!! I met him when I was in college. He was speaking that evening and walked thru the student center. Wow..he was so nice,so funny and very much made a lasting good memory for me. My parents were such big fans of his too.
I know they have their job to do, but I love how you know so much more on your subjects than they do. And you’re so nice & polite about it. You do your homework well my friend! I love that‼️🧡
Oh, I love red skeleton. I remember watching him. I think it was in the 60s. I enjoyed watching his comedies sketches and I know he was also in some movies but I can’t think right now which ones😊❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much, Jordan - a pleasant surprise, as I wasn't aware of this fine museum (and theater)! I grew up in the 50s and as a family we watched Red Skelton every week, I think (mostly) it was on during the week and probably one of only one or two TV shows we were allowed to watch on a "school night". I have an autographed photo from Red...I had mailed a fan letter to him requesting it, and when I got it I remember studying the signature and could see the impression of the signature lines pressing through the photo paper and visible on the back side. I finally had it archival-mounted in a picture frame, and there it still hangs in my home office. Also remember once considering to purchase one of his original paintings...can't remember from where, but it seems like it was from a store in California which exclusively sold his originals and prints at the time...I almost bought one (a small Freddy the Freeloader canvas) but ultimately declined, as it was a princely sum for us in those days. Some years later, a personally signed print cost nearly as much...wished I had at least bought the print now! But all that is besides the point...his manner and humor was such a positive influence on me, and I still occasionally watch one of his TV shows or movies on DVD, his comedy is timeless.
Jordan My family always watched the Red Skelton show when I was just a little kid! How you find all this is amazing. Merry Christmas to you Katie and Jah Cheri
I saw Red in person with my grandma back in the 80’s at the Mitchell Corn Palace in South Dakota. He was still hilarious! Then in the 90’s, we ran into an art studio on Coronado Island that carried a lot of his clown artwork. I wish I had made a purchase that day, but I didn’t. Props to Red‼️
That's an awesome place. I just found some reproduction paintings of Reds at an antique store they were too pricey for me, but now i know they are out there, and when the time is right, i will snag them. Awesome vlog!
I love Red Skelton. I visited his final resting place at Forest Lawn Glendale last year. A maintenance man went and put a flower in his area for me. I got to stand in front of it but not go in. I loved when he appeared on the old show What's My Line. Jordan if you see this I think you'd do great videos about the Whats My Line cast.
I have a numbered autographed print of Red's. It's a painting of one of his famous hobo clowns. My parents bought it in Hawaii in 1979 at one of his traveling showcases or whatever. It hags on my wall to this day.
Jordan you need to come to Evansville Indiana just down the road from Robin Williams grandparents are buried here the exterior house used for Rosanne is here. Don mattingly is from Evansville
I have heard they have the famous concrete slab from the Chaplin Studios with Charlie's signature. The one at the studio (currently) was cast from the slab they hold. Not that I'm obsessed with the idea of seeing it someday. I have been in the studios to see his original footprints. But Red removed the signature slab when he owned the studios.
When I was a child my grandparents gave my brother and I an original signed Red Skelton clown painting that said "to my little buddies". Unfortunately, our father and his new young wife stole the painting from us and tried to replace the painting with a clown POSTER and counterfeit signature. Fortunately, our grandmother let us know that that was not the painting they had given us. Yeah, messed up family right.
He bought Charlie Chaplins studio and owned it for awhile. I didnt appreciate him taking Charlies footprints which were there for years and putting them in his house in palm springs....where are they now?

I was lucky enough to watch a live show of Reds just a few years before his death. I also worked with his great nephew in Fort Wayne In.
I have a numbered autographed print of Red's. It's a painting of one of his famous hobo clowns. My parents bought it in Hawaii in 1979 at one of his traveling showcases or whatever. It hags on my wall to this day.

Vincennes!
I have reds autograph . Very nice man.
Never thought he was funny but my dad loved his tv show. Rolling Stones appeared on his show. Strange mix.
He bought Charlie Chaplins studio and owned it for awhile. I didnt appreciate him taking Charlies footprints which were there for years and putting them in his house in palm springs....where are they now?
Been there
I can just barely remember watching his show.
I grew up on Red Skelton (my dad was a fan). I am not a fan of clowns
I met him in 1968 at CBS studio. Asked to have a picture with him and he graciously agreed. Nice memory with that photo.
