I used to make similar ones many years ago , thicker reed makes up for floats carrying up to 14 grams of ballast , used these for zander and eel . Capable for nightfishing equipped with a 4,5mm dia. plastic tubing antenna to attach chemical lights . Also made versions with two line guides for best distance casting performance , ...also bodied and weighted wagglers , just glued in the reed into a rounded wine bottle cork . Really great floats at almost no cost , thanks for sharing .
