Awesome review. Respect!
Nice review, thank you.
He is excellent at giving reviews. Just excellent.
Awesome Review!! The 8 is my favorite drop top GT car. So classy!
Such a beautiful car! Nice spec as well
Very good review of the car. I didn't know about the smart transmission until now.
Great video. Nice work.
Thank you very much!
Beautiful!!!!!!!
I can't be too mad at anyone working a good "fart" into their review. This review makes me want to add it to the list of "possibles" along with a 440i cabrio. Thanks
Wow!!! Im going to look at one.. thanks 😊
Yes, I was pleasantly surprised by that car. I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did.
I just ordered a 2022. So excited!
So exciting! I really enjoyed this car. I hope you really like it when you get yours. Please let me know!!!!
He is excellent
I really like your easy yet informative style. Great car. What sound system are you using to record?
There’s 2 pipes there, and they both work. Left side pipe only opens up in Sports mode when idle. This is true in nearly all the BMW models including the B48 ones that haven’t been downtuned too much.
V nice
Good 👍 video
Thank you! Cheers!
Joe Hutchison: Thank You So Much Very The Video! Was Very Accommodating With Specifics That I Was Intrigued With Universally Of The Vehicle. Now I’m Deciding Between This In The “M 850 i Series convertible”And/Or A “Porsche 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 convertible”🤷🏽♂️ what’s your intake on comparison? I’d love to hear your feedback!
Awesome review, Joe!! Seriously, this was very professionally done. Seems like a nice GT car. Not as big a fan of BMW’s current offerings. I’m stuck in the late 90s/early 2000’s as far as my BMW love goes. Looking forward to more reviews from your channel.
Thanks so much. I was surprised by this car. I thought it would be boring but it isn’t. A nice surprise.
really well done video for sure.
I wish BMW offered that level of interior quality in the Z4.
all season tires on 20s?
Very nice German car 😍 😍 😍
Great review. One thing: I don’t agree with what you say about the size of the tires. Specially since BMW’s in general ride so bumpy. I have owned many of them and with the M Sports package is even a harsher drive. Maybe I’m getting too old 🤣 but I’m starting to value more function over form and tire wall height alters the ride quality for longer drives...
keep up the high quality and detail of your videos
Fair enough! You know what, my context for comparison is my 911 GTS. I should have mentioned that. Compared to the 911, the ride of the 840i is smoother.
@@Joe_Hutchinson I totally get you. I follow you because of your 911 as I’ve been eyeballing one (not new $) for a while and I know that it’s contradictory because my guess is that it’s not the most comfortable ride. I have an E30 which I daily drive and my wife drives a 2018 RX 350, our first CUV ever and although it is a “boring” car, it is VERY comfortable and has open my eyes to plush rides... we are due to replace it and most likely will be another Crossover 🤷🏻♂️
Drive this car....it is not bumpy. It has a very plush ride especially in comfort.
@@davidrpriest I’m glad to hear that! It’s a superb automobile. I hardly see them on the road. Gorgeous
What camera do You use ?
What's crazy is I was looking at the 8 series when I moved to the 911 but they didn't offer a Manual in the 8 series. I'm a Manual only guy.
Dude have you looked at the M4? 470hp with a 6 speed manual, it looks like a beast.
❤
How tall are you?
Funny how the “habitat” for cars like that in the town of Greenwich have horribly broken down streets. 🤷♀️
Excellent point! Areas like that need cars with suspensions that smooth out those rough surfaces.
How's the chassis flexibility????? Bad???? Good????
I didn't feel any flexing of the chassis during my test. Felt pretty stiff.
beauty , best looking BMW alongside the 5 series. can't say the same for the other models with their distasteful desperate lines and grilles.
I've had my share of BMW with a ton of issues and switched to Porsche 911 in 2017. You thinking of switching brands?
Definitely not. I got access to this 840i and wanted to see what it was like. As a car guy, I was curious. I was pleasantly surprised as I hope you can tell from the video. Having said that, I like the sportier feel of the 911. I like to participate in autocross events and occasional track days and stuff like that so the 911 is still king for me. I realize not everyone is looking for that sporty feel so something like this 840 has an appeal if a person wants to cruise.
Me too Brandon but I pulled the trigger about 8 years ago!
The B58 is not bad
What sense does it make to make a spots car too long so this is wast of money
The virtually non-existent room for passengers in the backseat, adults or children, begs the question- Why not just make this a 2 seat roadster and eliminate the backseat altogether?
Not a PDK!!! (As I watch the video)
I thought it was V8
The M850i is the V8 version. I would have loved to try that one out too.
Sad that BMW is losing the driver's experience with a Manual.
That is for sure. The new M3/M4 will have a manual, right? I think so. I'll have to look that up though. Ironically the new Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing with a 668 hp V8 will have a manual as standard equipment. That's pretty amazing.
Over priced.. way over.
