- In this full #review I will explain all the specs of the 2024 #BMW #840i #convertible then take it for a test drive. The 840i convertible is the least performance 8 series with 335 horse power that gets a 0-60 at 5 seconds and a top speed at 130 mph but they still have quirks which will bring me to my pros and cons.

Thumbs up for squeezing into the back seat! 8 series IMO has the best exterior style. Makes sense to consider certified used to take advantage of huge depreciation hit first 2 years.

One must-have for me is the cruise control on the steering wheel. BMW puts it there.

@@HawkeyeRides --- Very useful for low speed limit areas like school zones. I seem to recall reading that BMW on some model or another will do 5mph on cruise control. That would be a big plus, for me.
@davesmith5656 the lowest I was able to do it was 15 mph that’s from a stop light and not driving.

We want the m4 competition convertible but the wife put it on hold from the qx60 we bought and she has been looking at a new house. If we don’t buy the house, then we will buy the car😁. I like the 8 series but something about that m4, thanks Shawn 👍
Would be very helpful to know how tall you are? Did I miss that? I'm 6'3" and how I will fit is always on my mind with any car. Wife has driven her 2014 650i Gran Coupe for past 8 years and loves it but she misses the 3 BMW convertibles she had before that, so we are shopping. Glad you mentioned the 4 series, will consider that too but I suspect I'd have trouble fitting in that just as I did with her 3 series cars.
