As a young soprano very many years ago I sang in concerts in Church Halls and nursing homes and at musical evenings. There were so many beautiful Victorian ballads, ..No rose in all the world, In the gloaming, The sunshine of your smile, Where ‘ ere you walk, …but this was a favourite . I well remember a very elderly lady coming to me after one evenings entertainment, she took me into her arms and kissed my forehead and thanked me with tears in her eyes, I was taken aback…..but now I am that elderly lady , missing my adored husband…..and 70 years later I understand.
Thank you for your wonderful story. Music evokes so many memories, Happy, Sad, Joyful and Heart rending, how awful life would be without it. I'm so pleased the music here brought some of these back to you. Graham.x
Such an underrated and understated tenor. Stuart and Sir Geraint Evans came from the same street and village, Cylfynydd (Pontypridd). Two world class opera singers from the same street! When one considers Ponty also gave us Tom Jones and Iris Williams... quite a contribution to culture and the arts!
What a wonderful recording! Judging by the introduction, Mr Burrow‘s was not only a highly accomplished singer with a beautiful lyrical voice, but also a very amiable person... ⭐️💖⭐️ Thank you so much for sharing these notable videos! 🙏🍀
How very true that is. I never tire of listening to him sing this song, and all his others. Truly wonderful. Thank you for your kind comment, and I'm so pleased to know you like this so much.
Ein unfassbar nobler und kultivierter Gesang, Gentleman durch und durch, einfach wunderbar!
Thank you for your wonderful comment.

Stuart Burrows is a world class singer in opera at well as recitals and deserves far more recognition than he has been accorded.

I still prefer Robert White's rendition, but it's a close-run thing!
