This is from 97 or 98.
She is singing live. Shes just doing an impression of jodi benson. If youre familiar with eden you can tell her normal voice comes through in parts

Eden now gets to play Cassandra on Tangled The Series on Disney Channel! Full circle, her working for Disney and continuing to sing Alan Menken’s music :)
She's not lip synching. They have many singing auditions to get cast in this show. She just happens to sound exactly like the recording.
Guys come on! Sierra should not even be brought into this conversation! This is a theme park show and not a broadway production! She was supposed to try to mimic the movie and Sierra made Ariel her own.

I actually love her as Ariel. She brings so much life into the character, the best I've seen for a live show. It's no surprise to me she went on to do even grander things!
It is Eden ... A much younger and softer version, of course, but still Eden. She makes a beautiful Ariel! :)

I have a friend who does disney shows and she sings every single one of them live. Thats all i'll say. :)
@surfergirl86 Disney Parks don't pre record "live singers" If she's wearing a mic, then she's singing.
At least she's half green here too!

Sorry. I'm used to see her as Elphaba. I think it's the top of her career (so far). She was amazing on Wicked. Not my favourite though,but in my top 5.

Yep! I can tell that's her alright! Her face when she smiles and then her vibratto. And the way she pronounces some of the words like "deal." Love her! So glad she's doing musicals now!

@MeCaEllaM the show was called Animazement at the original Disneyland in California. She worked there before she went on to Broadway and Wicked.

@disneydanny2 Quite right. Most character auditions, for face characters are done based on looks, and movement ability. Singing auditions are different, but, once being an established cast member, w/ her vocal abilities being known, she very well could have become one of Disney's few singing characters.
I think Eden has a thing for green....hence her tail and Elfie.........gotta love her!

She was 19 or 20 years old.
@musikboi16 I just don't know what to tell you, there. haha. You're just gonna have to take my word for it- I can personally guarantee you that its her singing, and that a vast majority of the productions done at disney are done with live vocalists. :) Eden is also quite a famous Broadway performer, and it is most definitely her voice.

@kimt1987 thats DEFINAtlY eden's voice! She was jsut younger so her voice has changed and matured.. and at disneyland they want the singers to sound cartoonish... so they modify thier voice to make it more cild like

@chelseamichelle95 yes its Eden, the only think you can do about the audio is use one of those programs that converts youtube videos to audio mp3s. She never recorded this song professionally

I agree because on Wicked, she's fierce and strong but here it's peaceful and soft. Beautiful either way.
At first, I didn't think it was her and then she did a note that made me think "Yep, that's her. That's our Eden." :)

Huh, I wonder if I ever saw her as Ariel when I lived in California... I was only four at the time and would have no way or knowing, but you never know!

Stephanie J. Block was Belle and Ariel too. Wicked changed Eden's voice a lot, it's a lot less bright and more nasal now.

since there's not a live band, I'd venture to say it's not live. If they were going to the trouble of recording a live orchestra, I'd say they would have the singers there too. It does sound like Eden, though.
christ....I'm not denying her talent. I know disney requires then to be able to sing live...I'd audition but I'm too tall. perhaps the video is out of sync but it definitely does not look like shes singing live.
I think it’s perfectly possible that she’s lip syncing to her own voice. Who knows...outdoor shows are logistically tricky for this very reason.
@mickeymiles. Yes... I know.... Read further before and you will see that I was clearly defending live talent at Disney.... I'm very much aware that they sing....

@surfergirl86 Yea,I dnt know what to tell you either.I know exactly who Eden is, lol,been following her LONG before most people have, before Wicked, definitely before RENT, on of the few fans of the Brooklyn score which was written to showcase her voice so yea I dont need you to tell me her history. We will just have to agree to disagree because....well its not her. If it was her Id have no problem admitting it, and Im sure she'd do a fine job, but this is prerecorded. Like the Disney shows are.
it sounds more like Jody Benson, the original voice of Ariel.

@musikboi16 I don't know why it being her and being pre-recorded are mutually exclusive. What if she is the one who's singing voice is on the pre-recorded track? This is in NO WAY an accusation or statement of fact, I'm just simply trying to offer a different approach.

if that is Eden i dont see her as an "Ariel" I like her more when she has an extremly epic voice as Elphaba in Wicked thats what i think.....

She's lip-synching in this. Not that I have anything against her but it's a well known fact that all the Disney theme park shows have pre-recorded vocals, including this one. And no, it's not her voice on the recording...

@surfergirl86 That's definitely NOT her AT ALL. If you watch good enough you can see her miss a few words, along with all the other people in the show. This show is COMPLETELY pre-recorded. If that's not clear to you just from watching this then sorry.

i would have to respectfully disagree. i really dont think she is lip syncing . disney requires their singers to be able to sing live, that is what they are hired for....and eden is just beyond words of an amazing singer, that 'part of that world' seems like child's play compared to her voice rage.
she is not lip syncing at all that is how she sings and she has an amazing range especially since she was Elphaba on broadway and in california in Wicked so there is no lip syncing here
Sorry to burst your bubble but, she is definitely NOT lip syncing. Disney theme parks always have live singers.
i'm really not going to argue with ya'll. i have my opinion and you have yours. i'm really over this I made a comment on this over a half a year ago.
Eden even confirmed she was singing live but anyone who has seen this show in person also knows that all the singing is live.
