FLUX DEFENSE - If you see this, please make a Raider for this. Seriously, I’ll buy 2 of them yesterday.
As far as the Echelon on its own, I got one a bit after its release and I would do it again. I have 1200rds through it with zero issues. No regrets. If you’re someone on the fence, at it’s price, it’s a solid polymer handgun.

Probably a great option for someone who's looking to buy something and be done. I have been in both camps. Sometimes i want to build and tinker , piece together what i want , and that end product will be better for me than even these newer guns that are getting better out of the box.

Nice review! I rented one shortly after they hit the shelves & put 100rds through it. I'm not a fan of polymer, but I preferred it over just about everything else duty sized & polymer, except HK. We've come along way in this category, though, and that is certainly a good thing. 👍👍

I bought mine a month after it came out. I shot over 2000 rounds through it. It has a Holosun 508t, streamlight TLR-1 and have had zero malfunctions, no stove pipes, no failure to feed, nothing. It has been my EDC. I plan to get a threaded barrel for it, magwell and some tartan-tactical base plates or Springer Precision magwell and base plates. Maybe a new trigger but so far this trigger has only gotten better. I’ve owned a lot of Glocks and this one is trully a Glock killer. Thanks for the video guys!

CZp10c is like 375-450. So enough left over for optic work if needed and potentially enough for a holster or magazine.

    - Cost of a Glock 17: depends on whether or not you get Blue Label or not (a non- LE/ Military etc. person can get Blue Label pricing also btw)
    Blue Label: $390's-$400
    Non Blue Label: $600'ish
    - Talon tape: $19-$25
    or...
    - Roll of hockey tape: $10
    - Undercut: your dremel and about 30 minutes time
    - Slide cut for RMR footprint: $120-$145 (Wager Machine Works)
    - Sight swap, depending on which you want:
$65 for Dawsons (both front and rear)
    - Extended Glock slide stop: $20 tax & shipping included
    - If you want a magwell: $65-$100 depending on which one
    - +2 mag extensions: $13 each
Total: $950.50 (at highest cost points, with improved features)
    $1,520.50 (w/ X300 & 407C)
Total: $698.00 (at lowest cost points, with improved features)
    - Total: $613.00 (setup equivalent to Echelon, w/out improved features)
    $1,183.00 (w/ X300 & 407C)
    =====================
    SA echelon: $510
    Holosun 407C: $250
    Surefire X300U-A: $320
    X300U-B: $260
    Total: $1080
So reality is... the cost to get a Glock "up to an Echelon's level"... is really not enough of a difference to make a difference, ($100).
Just thought about throwing that out there as well for anyone to know.

I love my 45's but I just bought the Echelon & shot it yesterday & man I love this pistol! Smooth action, nice trigger & the VIS optics system is a game changer. I bought a Holosun 507 & dropped right on no problem and with the sight sitting lower ( not on a plate ), it co-witnesses with the iron sights. I lined up the dot with the irons & was hitting my target with the 1st rounds fired. The Echelon may be replacing my XDm 45 as my EDC!

I have had mine for about 10 months. Have about 1200 rounds through it. One malfunction due to ammunition. Was shooting reloads and a round didn’t chamber as a primer wasn’t fully seated and it did not go into battery. 100% besides this issue. The Echelon was 100%. Once again gents, great review. The birthday bump that you refer to is a feature that was built into the Pro Series CORE (Combat Optics Ready Equipment) pistols from Smith & Wesson. This was when the red dot on pistol craze was just taking off. I like it because it takes one movement out of the battery of arms and reloads are fast af. S&W removed that feature in the proceeding models and I haven’t seen it in any other until the Echelon.

An Echelon variant with the Pro SD treatment would be cool. Give it a factory upgraded trigger, 5" threaded barrel (in both 1/2x28 with the Hellcat dimple for the RDP compensator system and the objectively superior M13.5x1LH for suppressor connaisseurs. And not 5.1" or 5.2" as it should stay legal with most competitive rulebooks that ask for 5" flat) and maybe a factory magwell. And ship it with 4 large magazines that have bombproof floorplates. Plus an enlarged slide stop lever, but just on the left side where most right handed people want.
Red dot cowitnessing height irons (so lower than full suppressor height) with a fiber optic front, a tungsten guide rod and steel chassis would also be cool, at least as upgrade parts.

After about 1000 rounds I loaded 3 of the 20 Rd magazines with random mix and match ammo. 12 different brands including reloads. All mixed up. Ran them through as fast as I could pull the trigger. Zero malfunctions. Let me add the gun was ran right out of the box and was not cleaned or touched internally until after the ammo test above. Currently have about 3000 rounds through it. Practice sessions, training classes, match competition. Zero malfunctions and I'm liking it more every time. Both guns were and still are phenomenal. The guys at the Springfield Custom Shop have ALWAYS treated me with service that is above and beyond. Everytime.
I know there is some political heat they took awhile back, but I think most of the hits to their reputation is mostly from people who just don't know what their fucking talking about. I have never hesitated to recommend their products or service. For the money, there are almost none better. Glad to see that people are seeing it.
As for polymer guns, the only two I've even liked even a little were the Smith & Wessin M&P's and the Springfield XDM's. Guess I'll have to check out the Echelon.

It is not as reliable as a Glock. I had the same issue with it that I have with the 320. When I got to 1400 rounds, the FCU got gunky and I began to have malfuntions. I had to pull the FCU and drown it in CLP and then was good for another 600 rounds before I experienced the same problem. I then cleaned it and sold it on Gunbroker. For me, reliablity is king so Glock, S&W, HK and Walther are in the circle of trust. The Echelon is probably fine for people that shoot a couple of time of year. It did not hold up to higher round counts just like the SIg.

My echelon has been cleaned 2 times in a little over 5k rounds and I have zero malfunctions. This also feels like a comment from someone who doesnt own an echelon and wants to hate. The fcu doesnt gunk up at all due to the placement and mechanics of the firearm. Small layer of carbon after 1000 rnds?sure. I’m not a fan of Glock but there will NEVER be a pistol that will be called a Glock killer. The market is flooded with Glock aftermarket parts. Anything new that comes out for a gun is usually made for a Glock first.

i got the Echelon, but i got it mid Dec. n it was sold out everywhere near me so i had to order it online, so in my state there are extra fees for EVERYTHING. so it ended up being like 700 bc i had taxes, shipping, paperwork fee (to process), fee for the papers (for the actual papers), the receiving fee, n a fee for using my check card... i just moved here so i didnt know they did all that but i got it super quick, it came in the next day. anyway i have put 750 rounds of monarch 115 grain fmj (the Academy special lol) n about 300 rounds of various defensive rounds, n i has run smooth. other ppl have fired it at the range they liked it. it's a firearm made to be easy to use. it's good beginners n for ppl who are not ready to dump 2500+ on a 2011... YET

Echelon vs Shadow Systems would be an interesting comparison. I've been thinking of getting a polymer as I skipped them and went straight to 2011 when I went into this crazy world. Once I manage to get ahold of a CZ Shadow 2 compact, I'll have to figure out Echelon or Shadow Systems, so I can experience the Glock world without actually touching one.

I prefer the echelon over the shadow systems. I just feel the echelon is higher quality and had a better trigger out of the box. I did really like the SS grip though. The frame tolerances on the SS were not good IMO. If I swapped my mag release to the lefty side it would not lock back. The frame pins also felt a bit loose in the SS and some of the glock trigger kits had fitment issues.

I did the same thing and stayed away from Glock. I bought and sold - s&w mp, beretta p92 and px4, sig p226. I just could not consistently stay on target. I just burned through ammo hitting the berm behind the target.
Finally broke down and grabbed a Glock (47). I shoot it stock, something about the grip angle just works for me. I can get on target and stay on target.

24:14 illustrates a VERY dangerous trend in modern handgunnery. Pistols have become so reliable that any malfunction is met with near delightful curiosity, instead of deadly serious focus and an instant trained response.
This is the sort of thing that gets people killed in close personal defense situations when semiautos jam up. First, there's confusion, then shock, then panic, then death. All because their response to a stoppage while training has always been "Oh! Would you look at that?... gee wiz, it's a failure to feed! Get a picture!"
If you EVER experience a stoppage while firing an autoloading pistol, even in simple, calm shooting at the range, you need to IMMEDIATELY and RAPIDLY clear the jam and get the gun back on target. You WILL fight how you train, so treat the clearing of every hangun stoppage as if your life depends on it.

I hate how polymer pistols call themselves "Glock Killers" when really, they are just "Glock Innovators".
    They can't be without Glock.
1911s CAN be Glock killers because they are something other than striker-fired polymer pistols.
    It is its own thing.
So while innovators do Glock better, Glock did it bigger.
