Sadly it removes the one feature that makes any set top box appealing and that is being able to record multiple channels at once for many things that aren't on a catch up service or live events that may be edited on catch up for various reasons. Also many peoples connections probably won't be ideal for this currently in a family home environment especially for 4K content when several others are using devices when standard Sky would have zero impact on that. Only real benefit of this TV over others that are similar is the built in sound bar which is definitely a step in the right direction.
freddie also the TV has a motion sensor in it so if the tv is in a high traffic area its gonna turn its self on and off like a lime street corner prostitute, let alone the no hard drive for recording

Not sure with this as mine actually went down in price & plus it is a rolling 30 day contract so you can change the package you are on each month if you wanted to.
I wouldn't worry as they are going to be doing an upgrade path in the future so this tells me that there has been a massive interest in having a TV with the SKY GUI system built in and by then you will get an even better TV that is not going to have all the niggling little issues there are right now with this current version.

I think this is potentially a good idea but the technology in the tv is not good enough yet when this develops and the sets become as good as branded tv's you can buy seperately and the lagging issues get addressed then it will be on the way to changing the wheel 👌
Ordered this tonight along with new 900mbps internet. Saving £35 a month compared to virgin media. Great product it seems. Can flog my TV and sound bar too

Possibly, though it depends on getting a recently produced one. Looks like you need at least BIOS version 7C56v15 (release date 2021-01-26) to get the first AGESA version to sort out the 5600x bugs with earlier AGESA versions. Given how old that is, you will probably get a board with a newer BIOS, but it's not guarenteed.
It's called early adopters syndrome. I have had the black 55" version since launch week and yes there has and still is some teething issues but SKY have put out a couple of updates to the firmware and it is getting better.. My biggest issue at the moment is still the TV being unresponsive from standby on most occasions but I have also started to see the standby light disappear all together so not able to turn back on unless a full power cycle is performed. Secondly there are just a few little things that I hope will be resolved in future updates these are: 1. Lag in response to volume control. 2. Changing & Recognising inputs. 3. 3rd party app availability for on demand services. 4. HDMI 2.1 input for supported devices ( PS5 & XBOX X/S) as I have not been able to get these devices to recognise as will only show as 2.0. Overall this is an amazing TV and will be even better over time once SKY have been able to update it a couple more times to fix these types of issues.
I know its a bit late for the reply the sky glass tv now has hdmi 2.1 I've just ordered one myself it comes Tuesday hopefully all these teething problems have now been fixed.
im guessing sky will get rid of sky q and it will all be over the internet so you don't have a dish anymore. and guessing then u will be able to have UHD channels as they use the internet anyway for bt sport ultimate and sky sports UHD
They charge extra for the HDR and other things. It's not as good of a deal as they make out... in fact it's a terrible deal. What a missed opportunity by Sky here.

Yes as you are still watching broadcast TV channels doesn't matter if they are steamed the BBC want to keep everyone behind them owning the rights to watching live TV anyway possible.
as someone very tech saavy, i always assumed you were using a new apple pi for streaming, but as a sports fan i can see why you need to go through an actual paid service for the live stuff.
I have the sky glass 65in and the picture quality is more or less a cheap low end 4k tv. Also anyone going from a 55in or smaller to a 65in make sure your seat is far enough away because see so many bad reviews due to people going from a 42in to 65in and sit identical distances and wonder why the picture looks pixilated lol. If your living room is too small don't get the 65in.
Before I watch anymore, I need to ask, why is your sofa in front of the TV, how do you watch it, do you have an ability to twist your neck in a weird fashion and can you tech me how to do it?

Not quite true. Sky Glass is not the first sky service that does not require a satellite dish as stated in this review. Now (formerly Now TV) is a streaming service owned by Sky, offers the core Sky channels including sports & movies and has been available for years via Firestick, Chromecast, Roku, Smart TVs etc. There are some differences of course (pros and cons either way) but personally I would not want to be tied in like this as I think the TV is expensive. It will find it's market though and I agree internet tv is the future.

I don’t get the need for dedicated hardware at all. Netflix, Disney + etc don’t. They just have polished apps that work really well on any smart tv, console etc. If only that’s what sky did

@@zaheeryounis1315 I don’t think the picture quality is as good as my Samsung 65 inch and my only other issue is how the playlists are displayed. You can’t edit them. So if you add something in and let’s say your on season 10, you also get the previous seasons added too. Other than that it’s pretty good. The built in Atmos sound is also really good, I don’t use it as I have a Bose speaker system with a Denon AVR.
Don’t really see the point in it honestly, the only good thing I really think is that you can buy it on contract for £20 a month which is decent meaning most people can afford it. Other than that I don’t see any bonuses that it has over a regular 4k UHD tv. Streaming live tv has been a thing for a while with companies like BT it’s not really groundbreaking or anything like people are making it out to be. Sky glass is good I just think it’s over hyped

My only complaint is with Sky Glass and Q is the Disney+ App doesn't broadcast anything in Dolby Atmos. I use to watch it via my smart TV app store where it was Dolby Atmos. But for some unknown reason it's only 5.1 via Glass or Q.
After watching real reviews of hotels this TV where the he person bought the TV , this TV is the TV of the past. It's unreliable , lacks hundreds of channels you get with sky q and you can't record.
The tv doesn't seem to be worth it, it's USP is that it's got SKY functionality built in that needs a subscription to get the benefit from, it's just another smart tv though the built in soundbar is a good addition. An app that can be downloaded to any smart tv would have just the same result. SKY have decided to catch up to where other services have been for years, a dish attached to your house hasn't been necessary for a long time and is dead in the water. Nope haven't had SKY for decades and this won't change my mind on getting SKY either.
