    Hi, I'd like to add some advice for anyone living in a hot/dry location. Don't keep an azalea in full-on direct sunlight from spring through autumn. They just don't cope with intense dry heat. It'll do better on the shaded side of your house, as long as it is outside. And although you *can* repot in early summer after flowering, in a hot climate it's much safer to do it in late winter or early spring.

      I am in Arizona, Phx metro - would direct sunlight be good this time of year? Highs are maybe mid 70’s, lows are teetering in the 50’s. Thinking of leaving it outside during the day and bringing it in at night as it starts to dip more

    • @BlueSkyBonsai
      @BlueSkyBonsai 2 роки тому +3

      @@Caswagna93 it's probably ok at this time of year. But don't worry if you get some yellowing leaves, the older leaves need to drop. I leave mine outside at night even down to freezing temperatures.

    thanks for the video. my azalea was losing a bunch of leaves and i had no idea why, but i've narrowed it down to moving it indoors during the night time. going to leave it outside until rainfall

    What a great looking bonsai. The trunk is so beautiful. Do all Azalea bonsais develop such trucks with the wire look?

    It is snowing outside where I live, I have my azalea bonsai indoors. What would you recommend for those who live in a climate where the seasons change the temperature drastically

      I live in northern Minnesota so I too am wondering what or how to take care of it during our cold months (which basically is 4 months). Please, if you found out how to care for yours inside, can you pass it along? I sure would appreciate it! Thanks!

    Hi! Why does the trunk look like that? Are these aerial roots?

    • @bonsaiempire
      @bonsaiempire  2 роки тому +2

      The soil was washed away over the course of several years, it is a style often used for Azalea bonsai.

      Yes, a reverse osmosis system would work - though rain water might be easier.

    Is it possible to keep the bonsai in the same pot? If its possible I would like to keep it in a small pot but if not that's okay.

    • @bonsaiempire
      @bonsaiempire  2 роки тому

      Sure thing. It depends on your goal and your tree. If you maintain its shape, the current pot would be OK to use.

      Woops! We meant -5°C or 23°F - you should protect your Azaleas if temperatures drop below this temperature in winter. Thanks for pointing this out!
