Bought one about 2 months ago and am happy. Bit toasty but I took it to Nigeria with me so the temps here are crazy. Cooling pad keeps it in check with gpu at ab 75°. Gets between 95 to 130 fps on warzone which is my main play. Very happy. Only difference is 1tb nvme and got it for about R30000.
Excellent review video. The laptop looks pretty amazing!
Love the great deals bro that 2T ssd is what takes it above all the rest! And can you hook up a better webcam to that??
For any People based in the United kingdom trying to get this laptop this is where you can buy it from, pcspecialist under the notebooks/recoil-V-15/ all in configured for the price of £1,952.00 including VAT, but if you do not need the operating system it will set you back £1,859.00, just in case any UK viewers where wondering where the could get it from other than XMG.
Could you please try and review the wootbook metal 15 ?
only if they made display brighter it will be perfect.
I don't even need a laptop I just love watching you
Great gaming laptop alternative..
Hi, I'm considering the 3060 version (only one in stock, lol). How was your battery life testing performed? Was the display at 165hz or 60hz? How high was the brightness level? Which tasks were done?
How much was its retail price?
Isnt 95c the tjmax of that cpu. So its constantly bouncing around in frequencies as it hits 95c and has to drop clocked. Idk if thats acceptable thermals.
Yep. They throttle and throttle hard at 95c. Clocks start dipping before that though. I wouldn't call it great thermals, but it also isn't exceeding the rated temperatures, so technically everything is fine in there.
basically every laptop when turbo boost is enabled
105 is max
Any insight on wootware inside africa shipping. let's say shipping to Morocco???
Does it have G-Sync / Freesync?
do yo have any wootbook iv 3060 for sale?
in australia they are Infinity, and while they are good, they have draw backs, for example, xmp profiles
they dont seem to work on any chip other than what it came with, and no option to enable it even after doing the rubbish in the Control center
for the money, nothing else even comes close, but be aware, if you need bios updates, they want you to send it back to them, and refuse to tell you how to do it, and not supply a link to the download for it
those ethernet ports are fantastic, wish more brands had them.
Really amazing laptops, just suuuuper unfortunate that they took away so many display outputs since the first models. I have the 1660 Ti model, which has x2 mini DPs, x1 HDMI & x1 USB-C.. All the current versions are missing the x2 mini DPs, so how on earth am I supposed to run 3 screens? It's not possible.. even with the 3060/3070, which is a shame. :(
Should hav compared it to zephrus or strix
woot woot!
Nice
It lacks one feature that is 16:10 aspect!
Every config of this labtop is sold out
Let's go SA laptops! 😱
it's not a SA laptop
@@chickenclips damn chinese lol, the world is built in China
They're all out of stock!
Out of stock 2 hours after video 😀
Looks like a clevo rebrand.
Why do the bother with a 10key keyboard on a gaming laptop it's stupid and it pushes the WASD over to the left. Aleast they centred the trakpad on the laptop and not the keyboard?
still cant believe you said my name wrong on the livestream xD /s
@@user-me5vh1ys4l scammer
mam this is something inwould like to get
I bought the wootbook Ultra 3060. Epic laptop!
How was the battery life for you? Pretty much the most important feature for the average South African right now 😂
@@vncube1 about 5 hours. I set it to plugged in mode, which reduces battery to 2 hrs, but saves the battery cycles. I have UPS at home, so IDC too much about battery life
@@kobusdowney5291 I was hoping to not need a UPS with a new laptop. Do you know if the laptop runs at 60hz on battery?
@@vncube1 it can run at 165Hz or 40Hz
@@kobusdowney5291 is the battery life you're getting at 165hz? Sorry, there isn't a lot of info out there on this Tongfang chassis.
Not gonna lie, that is pretty good. But I got a similar spec laptop, but in some instances, not as good like the keyboard, for $1550 from Best buy during a sale last week. It is ASUS ROG Zephyrus 15 with Ryzen 9 5900HS, RTX 3070, 16GB RAM (8GB soldered in), 1 TB m.2 SSD and a free m.2 slot, 90Wh battery, 1440p 165Hz screen and 15 inches. But there are some down sides though, like for example there is no camera, and like I said earlier, 8GB is already soldered in to the motherboard, so you can only change 1 RAM stick. But other than that, so far I love this laptop and I would recommend it, when it comes on sale. I believe that the sale is still going on in Best Buy.
thats a good deal, we pay through our A**** in tax here in south africa sadly.
Can I trust wootware
Rename the title of the video so more people can see this post -> This laptop demands to be acknowledged
Eh... not available for the us man
Dude, check out the ASUS ROG Zephyrus 15 on Best Buy, almost the same specs. Ryzen 9, RTX 3070, 90 Wh Battery and 1440p 165hz screen. I just got it last week, and I believe that the sale is going on, for $1550. But FYI it has no webcam.
@@EbiNnFlowin the not having a 1080p60fps webcam is actually a deal breaker
@@MrDeadmanwalken1 yeah, it has no camera whatsoever, so that is completely fair lol. That's was gonna be a deal breaker for me too, but couldn't find anything else with the same specs in that price range, so just ended up buying a small $20 webcam and just carrying it with me all the time.
@@EbiNnFlowin i mean i have a wired webcam for my desktop but eh... i dont wana lug around more than i have to lol especially since ima have to carry a mouse and some decent headphones plus the charge brick or bricks depending on what i get. Was looking at this laptop that uses like dual 300watt bricks or somthing like that. The thing has an enormous battery but lasts like 2 hours cuz it uses desktop components inside
Check the Eluktronics Mech G3, it's the same chassis just under a different namem
Specs are great but wait... Why is there a 165hz screen when it can't manage 60fps in most games?? Those stats are awful even for a laptop version of any gpu. And it's $2700. He had me going for awhile there till he dropped that ludicrous price. $2700 desktop would do 4k 60. He was talking about the price being so good but it's only good "relatively" speaking.
Ha. We get ripped off in SA. I dream of importing at US prices...but customs costs and warranty concerns keep me from doing so. Our retailers get old spec leftovers and then pawn them to us for todays gen prices. They're selling 3050's at the same price 3070 models in US go for.
if no mux, then burn it, buy legion not 10+% worse GPU usage of same nvidia chip
Nice review, activate windows 🙂
A'm I the only one that hears somone breathign during the video?
Nothing about the South Africa origin is true... @0:35 seconds
Wish you the best raising money for your son and all those suffering his genetic affliction, but be honest... the machine is a TONGFANG, Chinese State-owned conglomerate, manufactured product with _(borrowing designs from Clevo/out of Taiwan)_ masquerading as, a sourced from South African.
The entire webselling face of Wootbooks is listed under the high domain name, AZ, Azerbaijan _(so likely the authoritative source controlling BIOS/driver updates is either China or a country located at the boundary of Eastern Europe and Western Asia, still a backwater of Russian influence, as it was for most of the past century as a USSR satellite nation)_
What are you talking about? He says the ODM is Tongfang, and he says this laptop is from a company in South Africa. None of that is false, of course they source parts from other countries as do many big laptop brands.
Out of stock.
