Bears at the Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge - December 2023

- I was able to get to one of my favorite places to see wildlife the first weekend of December 2023. The bears put on a good show Sunday morning, so hopefully you enjoy this footage and it inspires you to get outside, wherever you are.
Interesting fact: The bear that you see doing a bit of running appears to have been spooked by a truck from one of the park rangers (The US Fish and Wildlife Service), which made me wonder if it had been trapped by the rangers at one point in its life as part of their fine work to assess and keep the bears healthy.
So great! I like it very much!
Have a wonderful time.
Greetings ~ Milan

Very cute 😍 People are so scared of bears in my area. Your bears are so calm and gentle. And they are good swimmers too 💦 Nice video, Shore Fisherman❗️
Fortunately, the bears in this area are very well fed and used to being seen, though caution is still in order. Thanks for stopping by!
that is one healthy looking bear! awesome to see
They were definitely well fed. Thanks for stopping by!
The bear ate all my honey :(
I guess the bear found it "just right". Thank you for watching!
Cute bears.
Thank you!
So cute
Cute, but not cuddly:)
makes me wonder what the bears eat down there to get that big. I aint seen any digging through trash in the city, nor has my aunt who lives in the area told me that she seen any. I
They gorge themselves on crop fields that are planted in the refuge (in this case it was corn, but I've also seen soybeans). I think the idea is that by planting crops on the refuge, it keeps the bears from raiding the fields of local farmers. Thanks for stopping by!
That’s some great nature footage!.. very fat bear !👍👍
They were definitely getting ready for a winter's nap. Thanks for watching!
