April Fools Day Bear in the Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge

The signs say not to approach the bears, but they don't tell the bears not to approach people, and I was fortunate enough to have one do that on April Fools Day 2024 (my car provided a nice buffer between the bear and I). The refuge has a healthy population of black bears and while it is rare to have one approach this close, it is uncommon to not have at least one decent sighting of bears, red wolves, otters, or (in season) alligators. Enjoy if you go! One note, the wind was whipping a bit that morning, so I subbed in a song for the sounds of nature as all the camera could hear was the wind.....
