I am having a really hard time deciding between this and the basalisk, but the price obviously is up there. I really want you to give your honest opinion, and hammer it even if its on the price. I need to know if after being brutally hammered if its a good pick for me.
@The Techne I had the same issue with the dragging sound and friction. It seemed that the plastic flap under the mouse where you store the dongle, was taller than the mouse pads. So to fix the issue I removed the plastic flap and it completely fixed the problem. Mouse has no friction and makes no noise.
This is my main mouse right now. Thanks for the great review as always! I’m glad you recommended the wired version. Being honest is really good in a world where everyone just wants to bandwagon.

If you're having problems with your mouse catching on a cloth mouse/desk pad I would suggest you switch to a non-cloth hard mouse pad. I have a Steelseries hard pad that's specifically designed for optical mice and it works great.
@@georgyzhukov6409 are the side buttons easy to press? I heard that they made newer batches a bit different. And if they are more pronounced, do you hit the ones on the other side by accident?
I know this is lighter and probably more effective than the basilisk but the rgb on the basilisk ultimate looks amazing. I wouldn’t mind having a heavier mouse because lighter mouse feel like dollar store mice. Like they just feel cheap to me. Even tho the viper is expensive.

i use the RVU and i am really surprised you have such "friction" sounds when you slide your mouse around. i tried replicating that with mine and i don't get that at all. could be an issue with your particular mouse? but that is really apparent when you did the sound test. yikes. also, i believe you can turn off the RGB by battery level when you dock the mouse? if the multi color lighting is an issue. my main thing is figuring out how to charge the mouse on the dock while my PC is off/standby over night.

Does anyone know how to make this mouse keep its connection? For as long as I've had this mouse (about a year now), it has randomly lost connection almost once a day. It even disappears from the Razer Synapse software (the dock stays there just fine, but the mouse completely disappears)! After a few seconds it'll reconnect and instantly do whatever movements you tried to do while it was disconnected, which can be pretty jarring in games.

The first version of the Viper Ultimate wireless buttons were mushy but Razer listened and upgraded them so they feel much more tactile.

It is a fantastic mouse and easily my favorite over the 20 mice I have owned and still own including the GPX Superlight.

This has been my main mouse for about 3 months now and I love it so much. For some reason my aim has improved drastically.
I’ve also never had the bottom of the mouse drag but that’s probably because I use a hard pad (Glorious Helios)
