I happened to be there in 1998 when I was in the Navy and our boat had to stop over due to some technical issue. I really loved it there. Great people, the city is very cute and has one of the most amazing beaches I have ever seen. Even though I'm in my mid-40s now and have seen a lot, I still think about it from time to time. If I could have chosen where to live my life, Cadiz would be high on the list. Maybe I'll make it there again sometime.

Cadiz es una ciudad que tiene un centro historico muy armonico y bonito. Le haria falta un monumento de primer nivel para ser una ciudad monumental destacable en España.
Es cierto siendo la ciudad mas antigua habitada continuamente de toda Europa desde hace 3.100 años osea casi decir del mundo. Aunque pensándolo bien si que tiene ese gran monumento a nivel España y mundial que es el nuevo puente, uno de los mas grandes puentes atirantados del mundo, obra maestra del S.XXI.
@@santiagogalvez8947 .. nadie va a Cádiz para ver un puente. Solo es un puente de gran capacidad, sin ningún elemento arquitectónico que destaque... es solo una infraestructura de transporte. Sería interesante que se construyera en Cádiz una especie de guggenheim, una ciudad de las artes y las ciencias e incluso un metrópol para sol... es decir, un hito arquitectónico en el que gire toda la ciudad. Por cierto, Cádiz es la ciudad mas antigua de occidente porque así está considerado pero en la península ya existía ciudades desde hacía muchos siglos y que continúan actualmente... no muy lejos ya estaba carmona.
@@franciscojaviergarciadelav6502 Conozco mogollón de guiris que van a ver el puente de la Pepa porque no lo tienen ni en el resto de Europa o USA mas que en metrópolis 20 veces mas pobladas, Es el 2ndo puente atirantado mas largo del mundo y el segundo de mayor gálibo del mundo. Nadie tiene las infrestructuras españolas en el todo el mundo..

En el ranking mundial no aparece ni siquiera entre los 150 primeros, dejé de leer ahí por aburrimiento. Si dicen que es el tercero de Europa en tener mayor luz y el primero de España en esa categoría. Pero... a nivel mundial no puede competir con auténticos monstruos que por circunstancias propias de los terrenos suelen ser muchísimo más espectaculares que la situación de Cádiz. No quiero quitar méritos a su puente que si me parece un gran puente pero sin exagerar y ya te digo que no es una atracción turística. Ojalá Cádiz fuera capaz de construir algo único en la ciudad que la organize en torno a un hito arquitectonico... es lo único que le haría falta para subir varios peldaños a nivel turístico a Cádiz. El puente precisamente no lo es aunque es un eje vertebrador muy interesante para Cádiz y su bahia.

I'm guessing this was an armed fortress at one time. It's walled with no beaches which is sad because what a beach paradise this could be.
The old city part has a small beach that is nonetheless beautiful, and the "new" part has a long awesome beach
