Just came across you guys and I’ve got to say you are the real deal. What an amazing couple. Unlike many of the other sailing channels I’ve watched in recent times you are low key, hugely knowledgeable, unflappable, funny and great to watch. These are rare attributes, especially among the new youtube generation of dilettante sailors. No hysterics because you’ve broken a fingernail or banged your head. Actually nothing seems a drama to you guys - I love your positiveness, dignity, normality and love of life. And even though I’ve been sailing now for nearly 60 years, I learn heaps from each new instalment. Who would have thought to smoke fish downwind to keep the bugs off. Tremendous stuff. Pascal your lovely smile makes my day and Troy you are truly in command of your environment, a proper old school skipper. You may disagree but I think you are absolute naturals at this video game. I see great things for you in the future, just promise you won’t change who you are, our your style.
Dennis, thank you very much for that very sincere compliment. We won't be changing a thing, don't worry. We are very grateful that this project has brought people of your long experience to our audience and we are sure we can learn just as much from you and others like you. Please, keep joining us on the voyage and don't hesitate to contribute any feedback you see fit. Thanks again T&P
Congratulations on having just about the most "authentic" channel, which carves it own mix of fishing, rock art, free climbing, bush tucker, gourmet galley skills (honest!) and remote survival techniques, into a seemingly effortless vlog. I KNOW the work required is not insignificant (think swan gliding across the water while invisible underwater leg action is pushing it's cardiac capability!), but I notice others spreading the word to overseas vlogger yachties. Entirely merited too Please don't stop! Tony
Thanks Tony. We are getting some messages that people are finding us when their friends share our videos on Facebook or other social media so the word is spreading happily. It is a lot of work to produce this channel but our interactions with our growing audience really does make it worth it for us.
I really like how low maintenance she is. Not afraid to get he hands dirty; knows how to fish, cook, sail, etc. You would be hard pressed to find such a self sufficient woman in America. Most couldn't catch fish from a barrel, cook instant grits, or put gas in their cars, let alone go out sailing like this and living minimalistic.
@@charlieodom9107 but they all act like they are entitled to everything! Also same thing could be said for most of the guys in america, they would just like to use and throw away girls like pascale if they had the chance! (Drugs and not having good parents and sucky laws to blame)
Absolutely love your videos, they are amazing. I was hooked from the first episode, the way you live every day with spice and style. You guys rock and so does your music. Thanks for restoring my faith in humanity lol. God Bless
I've been filleting fish for 39 years and learned something new today (don't completely remove fillets on first side before doing the 2nd!). Thank you.
Best spearie video i have seen in a long time and i loved the respect you give your food with a clean stab to the brain so the fish does not suffer. I wish more people would do that. Sounds cruel but then the fish does not suffer and release stress hormones into the meat is very important to the taste of the fish
We think it is important to maintain our empathy with the animals that feed us. Quite a lot of hunting cultures have the same practice and I think it's admirable.
Young lady.. you make a beautiful cook.. be careful not to get hot oil splatter on your unprotected parts. Love the hippy element in your video's. Young, free, and natural, living off Mother Earth. Thank you again for inviting me into your home and world.
Well done Troy love your videos , probably more realistic than some of the other Aussie ones , but also first person IV seen fillet properly , yeah it's an old pro fillet tip to leave the first fillet in place after started to keep the backbone straight for the second fillet around the shoulder ,then finish it after the second , makes perfect sense if you think about it. Keep up the good work you guys are great.
Great episode Pascale & Troy , you are eating like royalty. The diversity of fish on the reef is amazing. Good tip on the fingerhole when filleting. Can't wait to tune into your next episode. Best wishes G
I love that you fish to feed yourselves and take only what you need (thanks for returning that giant Crayfish in an earlier episode). I would love it if you did a separate episode dedicated to your fishing gear and how you use it. So many yachties are hopeless at this and could learn basic information about simple things like tying the rod on a leash. When to use a rapala v.s. skirt etc. Please stay simple. La Vagabond lost me...
Catching our own food and keeping it simple is all part of our Free Range philosophy. We've a short video on the cards explaining our trolling set up and we plan to also do another on rod and reel maintenance so stay tuned and we'll get to it soon!
hey guys been a little while since I touch base but just got back on for a little trip ourselves. and can actually say again that your information saved us a lot of time energy and effort God bless you guys be safe and enjoy life to the fullest
Hi Guys love your work. Watching your posts, you feel like family and I watch the weather hoping for fair weather for you, whilst I am stuck just north of Sydney still working. I hope the weather is kind to you and I look forward to more of your exciting adventures
We get that family feeling to when we interact with our Audience. We will wait out the cyclone season in the Torres Strait then head south in April to try and beat the strong SE trade wind set.
I subscribe to some Sailing Vessels that are intertaining and sometimes instructional but your channel envolves more diving and underwater photography. Most channels focus on social situations and more drinking than I know is healthy. Booze has its place but it means nothing to me to watch it with its usual results on the channels program. Your channel has all the right elements for viewers. I like the relationship you project in your videos. I think you will continue to grow your patrons steadily. I am still binging on all the videos before I logged on. You will have a windfall until I catch up, but, I will probably revisit the old ones. None are OLD just previously viewed! Please keep it up and keep me informed about your channel. Rhett
I enjoy your videos. I spent a few weeks in Darwin in the 80s and wish i could have gone to the Kimberlys. You guys are great together. Wishing you well from Melbourne Florida USA.
Got excited when the notification came on my phone😀Couldn't wait to come home and throw it on the big screen. Wow,you've covered a lot in this one,and it's only part one.Who says there's no fish left in the ocean, seems to be keeping you fed,and your tastebuds entertained 👍Those clippers are a familiar sight, they go over my head twice a month with a number two,and over my face twice a week without any guard on.Thanks for sharing as always, much enjoyed👍😊
Thanks Wayne. We often wonder what our work looks like on a large screen as we only ever see it on a laptop. Clippers have been a feature of life for 25 years and it's nice to be shaved up and neat again.
Free Range Sailing ,the resolution is quite good👍 Always looking forward to some more fun from you two,and you must have worked extra hard to get it to us,considering we had two last week, thanks again😀
Looking around a while ago and found this one put out today. A good surprise as I am still catching up on previous videos. Hope the cameras are not in too bad of condition, keep up the good work and Pascale, don't ever loose that laugh i cnt't hear it enough, be safe
3 observations: 1) Wow look at all the sharks! Awesome, let's go spear fishing = WHAT!! 2) Sad sweet Pascale makes Sad Troy = No BUENO. 3) I don't see how you get any filming done AT ALL !!!!. TROY I bet you don't tell her no often. All the best. Great work. Nice anchor in tips ⛵
Oh boy! Made my day. Thanks for the education Troy. Outstanding video, narration and music. And that fish frying gal is a fair sight too. All the best!
That baitball you sailed through took the camera crew at Blue Planet over a year to encounter. Fantastic episode as always. Pas looks to be getting better with the gun. I'm not quite sure how you describe her kitchen technique, but I don't think there's a guy alive that would complain.

Wow Wow Wow what a great place. I really like Troy"s suttle educational narration during all the vids eg the yellow bommies closer to surface than the darker coloured bommies. On one of your earlier vids Pascal was home brewing and not sure if we saw the finished product, was it a success?. Thanks again and look forward to the next adventure episode. Part of me wants to dive into that bait ball for a look. On the Gold Coast, surfing during the mullet migration (wherever they were going, not sure) I regularly found myself sitting on my board in a boiling sea surrounded by Grey Nurse sharks I couldn't see. It's rather butt clenching.
I enjoy your videos a lot. I hope to be doing this in a few years. I am about to sell my house and plan to move onto a boat, but it will be a few years until the kids are gown. Then I hope to escape to a world like this.
That haircut has taken a few years off you mate!Awesome video again .Cool that the camera decided to work again!Really enjoy your work.I've started sprouting beans and stuff because of you!!!
A right smart hair cut on the fly...one less thing to worry about ...lol. I really do enjoy watching your vids and thank you for sharinging the beauty of the North Western waters of Australia ,,We'll find our way across the Pacific one day soon and give them a try . Fair winds my friends.... Cheers
Thanks David. I've had that same haircut for 25 years and thought I'd grow it out. Feels good to back to 'normal'. Oz really does have some magical sailing-come visit!
As I found with my Olympus water proof camera there are a couple of "O" rings under hinged doors that access the outlets, inlets for cables etc, these should be removed and washed with precious fresh water,a smear of Vaseline is good or something similar before re seating them in place, I might also add that in the fine, fine print of the warranty is a clause that states the camera must be returned to Olympus yearly to be serviced by them if not then warranty is voided. Unfortunately my camera did not survive its first encounter with a leak through one of those seals, great series guys keep it up. :)
Thanks Steven. We managed to send the camera back for a full replacement by Olympus as we had several problems with it. I can't criticize that sort of service but yes, I think the camera doesn't quite live up to it's 'tough' nomination. We are hard on gear though...

Lovin your work!! 👍
