Tip: I have this light and loosen the cap to disable when keeping in holster. Due to an incident that burned a hole through the holster. However the threads on the tail switch eventually worn out from doing this and no longer screwed into the light. Had to replace the tail switch. Now I keep the threads lubed with white lithium grease to prevent grinding wear and tear on the threads
I can't believe he's gone. I have always wanted to meet him in person and now that he's gone, it will not stop me from buying from his company. Marshal, you are a good person. Your videos made me find the right choice.
Marshall you are missed!!! I love watching your videos. Got to talk to you a few times and always was a pleasure. I wish all the best for your wife and kids. 👍👍
My nitecore EAX hammer get hot and one lower battery swells plus the lower spring thing that the battery sits on has fallen apart. Is this common. I have had it a while but hours of use is low.
Guessing the 18650 is an IMR with 30a output. These batteries are typically used in vapes or e-cigs. So the batteries aren't hard to find and more brands are coming out with IMR 18650's. So feel free to buy this light from goinggear
they exist but it is not the battery, but the flashlight, the driver has knowledge of what battery is in there, and won't push anything without the nitecore fingerprint above a curtain level. this avoids the important issue with lower end copycat batteries blowing up or overheating, which is indeed a lifesaver.
I have a Manker mk34 8000lumen light I was given a yr or so ago and it just stopped working a week or two ago. They said they bought it from you so I thought I would get your advice on getting it repaired. Currently I can't seem to locate it but I am sure it will show up soon since last time it was used was inside the garage which is a mess and will be getting cleaned (and likely that will be when the light shows up). Thanks
Got the TM03 for about a year and what I really hate is the switch. The quick button is over sensitive and switches on while wearing the Flashlight in pocket. Any Idea if there is a possibility to change it for normal switch like on SRT7GT? Otherwise great flashlight. I like the power.
proprietary battery is probably an IMR so for protection they make the light only run the highest modes when it can be sure the battery can handle the current which unfortunately is only when the battery being used is their battery with the exposed ground contacts on top.
I think the reason the battery has the extra contact is so that the flashlight can determine whether or not the battery is capable of delivering the power to run the turbo mode (if the flashlight detects a battery and doesn't sense anything from an extra contact, then it would know that it could only go to the second-to-highest mode).
Pro tip- be super careful carrying this in a pocket. I had mine clipped in a pocket using the pocket clip from an MH27 while I was driving in my car and the paddle switch activated, turning the light on at the full 2800 lumens! I realised when I smelt burning and my leg got hot! It melted the fabric inside my jeans pocket! Now I lock the battery out when I'm transporting it and don't need to be able to turn it on immediately.
@@gosman949 the solution to avoid this problem, consists into unscrew just a little the cap ;) (because with bumps, when you accidentally light up the flashlight, is that you can click... Four times!)
Recently had my Nitecore MH25GT stolen out of my truck, im looking to replace it. The TM03 looks amazing at the price. I think a thrower is too much for what i need for home security. If you were to recommend another light comparable to the TM03 what would it be, and/or a flashlight with a slight upgrade in throw
Great video Marshall, but I just purchased the Olight R50 seeker from you and it is an awesome light !! I really love this Olight. And yes I am a flashlightoholic, and proud to be one. Thanks for the reviews. .
Marshall I am trying to pick a good all around light. I am liking 3 different lights and need to see which is the Best? nitecore p30, armytek predator pro xpl or the klarus xt12gt? any help and any comments are appreciated
***** what I'm saying is that the atomic. Beam is a good enough light for me at 19$ ,it allows me to see far enough to see anything that is either going to be a threat or food. That's all, I'm not comparing to anything, if I were a sniper, of course it wouldn't be good enough, so,I'm good with it
What all would I need for charging?? charger cords an spare battery total cost?? thinks it is a light I need to have. get back to me please.. thanks for the great video..
I just got my TM03 from you and sometimes when I double press the mode switch to get to turbo it goes into lower modes is something wrong with my light?
Going Gear yea I bought 3 extra batteries with it and fully charged them all and the same thing happens with all the batteries. It won't let me change into the other mode I've tried at least a dozen times and it just won't change I don't think I did anything wrong I had your video up while I was doing it (I think that would be my preferred mode anyway but I can't know for sure since it won't change). Also if you press the mode switch to get the strobe to come on sometimes if you press the mode switch very fast the strobe will come on much dimmer. If you could try that with some of your lights and let me know if that's normal I'd appreciate it. I just got this for a defensive light and if I can't trust it to come on in max high or the strobe to come on in the full brightness when I need it I can't use it. I do love the light I just don't know why it's doing all this.
It isn't a bad thing, But not really needed. There are much better battery's out there like the new Sony VTC 6 and making these this way keeps you locked into buying THEIR product. I am currently working on a way to fix this issue, However like previously mentioned I do believe that it is a safety/ prop. security chip that will only enable the turbo mode. ATM I think the only way to use another brand of battery is to remove the PCB section from the battery and install it on the battery you want to use and re wrap, not a huge deal if you are experienced with li-ion battery's of this type. If I descover another alternative I will update it here. It could stand to use a battery of a higher MAH rating, But still a very good light.
Hi Marshall Looking at 2 of your videos one after the other I noticed in my opinion that the MH20GT shows up your trees at 130 yards better than this light and also your second scary creature at 100 yards lol.
That's sweet compact monster :) Marshal , do you ship to Finland ? I like buying from you because you actually care about your customers . just a quick note there is a small miss print on your website regarding this flashlight power and run duration (1350 lumens - 45 hours) that would have been amazing 😀.
I remember when Mag-Lites were the king of flashlights. Now they're considered by some a relic of a bygone era. Not me though. I still have a soft spot in my heart for them even though I carry a Nitecore EA11. What is holding Mag-Lites back is them sticking to only readily available batteries.
***** Even then not that readily-available; I've been seeing less and less batteries for sale in B&M stores that aren't big chains (Wal-Mart, Lowes, etc.) since rechargeable batteries are so ubiquitous nowadays. Now, one thing I don't have issues conceding is that Mag-Lite really got the feel of their lights _right_. The shape and heft simply have no parallel.
I was referring to AA, AAA, C, D-cell batteries which in my local Walmart they have like 8 mini-shelves of them. Now Mag-Lite does make a CR123 powered light called the MAG-TAC and have been for four years now. They also have a line of rechargeable lights. Mag-Lites do feel good in the hand that's for DAMN SURE!!! They're also the most durable I've ever had. I live in a raisd ranch style house and I dropped my Mini-Mag PRO two stories down to my driveway and it stayed light. The only issue is that their anodizing isn't that great. I had a Solitaire in my pocket by itself and it got worn down to bare metal. Now about batteries if only lithiums would come down in price and REPLACE alkalines. Not only that if somebody made C and D-cell Lithiums I'd stockpile the hell out of 'em.
I'm on your page right now.I love your videos and most important I love flashlights. Right now I have 2 good flashlights I have the Revtronic F30B 800 Lumens and olight R50 Pro Seeker which always gets everybody's attention. Christmas is coming and I want an even better one. I want one with the different color Leds and. I want to have the best flashlight of all my friends...
The Nitecore TM03 is poorly designed for these reasons: 1. Slight delay when pressing any button to activate. As a tactical 'weapon' you need instant results. 2. The 'strobe ready' function is poorly designed. You have to hold the light in such a way that your thumb operates the strobe which prevents you from being able to effectively strike with the light bezel. The ideal situation would be that the tail switch could be programmed to 'instant on' the strobe effect and stay on so that the flashlight could be used to disorient and then strike the attacker. As it now, you risk dropping the light or losing the strobe effect. Very poor design. 3. The 'must have' function of this light (strobe) is activated by the 'mode' button. It is easy to anticipate that the mode button may be hard to locate during an attack. 4. The strobe is not that disorienting. Even in moderate light conditions, poorly lit areas, ones eyes adapt quick enough to continue their attack. 5. Proprietary batteries are an issue. The TM03 special battery won't fit in my Zebralights. 6. Poor customer service and communications. Requests to see if item 2 was possible to Nitecore support repeatedly referred to the poor procedure outlined in the manual instead of answering my question. For these reasons, I am returning the light and would not recommend.
I wonder if anyone has reverse-engineered the top PCB yet. My guess is that it's a safety thing, a dedicated battery protection IC that measures the current in and out and calculates SoC. It must stay connected with the battery so that it keeps track of the charge even when removed.
Tip: I have this light and loosen the cap to disable when keeping in holster. Due to an incident that burned a hole through the holster. You should do a review of the Klarus XT12GT please. I can't decide between the Nitecore TM03 or Klarus XT12GT

how do you charge it. do you have to buy a separate charger??

Going Gear will also carry on side at night opposite my handgun
