This story almost sounds like the basic for a Predator film. They way you talk, you could do a after dark series of stories. Something for the adults. Darker, you voice suits that.
Not quite first, but very intrigued by the title. Ok, I've finished the vid, and it was magnificent. And now I know about something I didn't even know was a thing.
How to be a badass in an order of rather lawful evil order of killer monks. Show up unannounced, leave a path of blood and gore throughout the temple, behead the leader in honorable combat, and never claim the throne. That is how you are seen as a badass.
I would like to make one addendum, an Exarch is not a single warrior with a single spirit stone- but a gestalt formation of all that have ever worn the Exarch’s armor, which bears many spirit stones to house these many souls.
Pardon my necro-post but this is a bit of complex lore. tl;dr: Exarchs are gestalt entities with multiple soul stones. Phoenix Lords are more like daemons in that they devour the mind/soul of the Exarch that puts on their armour. Detailed version: This is based from lore gathered from the Path of the Eldar trilogy/Omnibus; some of this may have been retconned. As previously mentioned, Exarchs are a gestalt entity of sorts created by an Aspect warrior who for lack of better term merges their War Mask with their core identity. Once this occurs they stop being able to function like a normal Eldar. From then on they are drawn to a temple of their aspect that is currently missing an Exarch. Once found they don the armour and effectively merge their soul with all the previous Exarchs who wore that armour. The Phoenix Lords are vary similar in this regard as when a Phoenix Lord dies, an Exarch is drawn to take up the armour. However, unlike the Exarch a Phoenix Lord is not a gestalt intellect. The Ego or Identity of the Phoenix Lord completely overwhelms and effectively devours the Exarch. Two related points: 1) Exarchs never join the Infinity circuit. They serve until either their soul gems are destroyed, they are called upon to resurrect a Pheonix Lord or they are sacrificed to activate an Avatar of Khaine. 2) This is less a point and more providing description as to what a War Mask is. Because of Eldar nature, in order to contain their killing instincts, Craftworld Eldar developed a means of basically compartmentalizing their mind so as to prevent their war time actions from becoming overly represented in who they are. Best example of this is to use modern military as an example. Militaries can train people to become soldiers and kill. Deprogramming the killing drive is a lot harder if not impossible with current psychological means. The Eldar get around this by creating mental blocks in their mind - effectively forgetting it all. When an Eldar loses the ability to do this, they become lost to the Aspect. What that means is best described in the Path of the Eldar book 1. A character in the process of becoming lost consciously thought he said "I want to go do something fun." to his Shrine mates at a public function. Innocent right? Well. What he actually said was "I want to go find something to kill." Eldar that lose their mask are likely to become the villain for a 90's slasher film. For purposes of avoiding a multipage essay, I kept it simple.
Hallo once again m'Lord Baldermort! Just so you know, you are my fav storyteller and commentator of Warhammer 40 k lore. The description of fight at the start reminded me of "Claymore" anime, to those that haven't watched it, you are in for a treat. Not 40k setting, but it's over powered monsters, vs half human half monster witches, trying to keep the monsters at bay and preserve human race. You deserve to become the greatest 40k story teller on YT❤...with subcribers and views to reflect that fact. I don't remember what was the name of the story you told, where you act played from first person, the bloodlust and infinite joy of some of these denizons of the night, made me feel all the excitement aswell, while picking a worthy target to first best in combat, then to "get to know his new friend, inside and out during torture", some poor astartes or was it just an imperial guardsman.. How he ended his life before the stoic human could faul their friendship by boo-hooing, or in other words crying, because his new friend is much to good to be left like that. That whole story as dark and disturbing and exciting as it was made me feel everything, only to later remember how I hate sadists and how I could end each one that is proven to actually enjoy torturing other living beings.. Your passion towards the setting, makes it more alive even then Leutins masterfully picture filled videos. Thanks again brother.
You had me at Incubi and then you mentioned Drazhar Master of Blades! This has made my 2021 so thank you so much. I now own a Drazhar miniature and cannot wait for him to butcher his way through multitudes of cowering pig Mon keigh. It's all they deserve, because they are a prey species and nothing more.
I was sharpening a knife on a wet stone while listening to this video. I feel oddly in sync and malicious now. On another note Striking Scorpions are my favorite aspect warriors so I hope they get a great video to show their own prowess. (Maybe a revenge hunt on the Incubus shines?)
Your narrative made me realize that humanity is to the Eldar (I won't use the newspeak term for that xenos filth) that Orks are to the glorious Imperium.

@@Chadegon1693 Three isnt bad, but its not as much as others. Apparently a harlequin troop leader and a solitaire infiltrated the palace on terra and were fighting up the eternity stairs trying to get an audience with the Emperor. Between the two of them just over 100 custodes died before they were stalled and had to retreat before risking death. Like i said, named characters have plot armor, and while the custodes are the best next to the primarch, there has to be a few badasses out there who can fight and beat one of the gold mans gold boys.
@@antcow1239 3 is alot. The only thing that stopped him from killing more was that he ran out of custodes to kill. And no 6 harlequins entered the palace, 2 made it to the inner sanctum, 1 got captchured by the high lord inquisitor and the grand master of the inquisition. The other 4 regular harlequins didnt even see a custodes, and the shadowseer and deathjester killed half a dozen at best and most of them from range
Drazhar is the fallen Phoenix Lord, so I guess this is pretty darn close to an Aspect Warrior/Phoenix Lord video lol. I'm glad to have confirmation that it's coming! Also, darn I was going to make a joke about him just being a a Thousand Son due to the dust theory. But that Ahriman quote kinda beat me to it. Lastly, it always hilarious to rip a unit of these...degenerates to pieces with my Genestealers, just gotta rep my bois lol
The intro really set the tone; Dark Eldar (yes I know its Drukharii, but 🤷) and gives you a good feel for Incubi, they always felt the most badass of their forces and I liked them in DoW: Soul Storm, even if you got a few for Asdrubal’s bodyguards; they could hold their own and dish out some serious damage. Also, I might be of the minority here, but I believe the Eldar and Imperium really should be working together against the forces of chaos and the Dark eldar.
Dark eldar is basically chaos eldar. They are not directly worshiping Slaneesh but are feeding her. In theory they are worshipping her by feeding her others agony. The dark eldar are chaos corrupted without them really realising it
When you're reputation as a swordsman is so great that you killing 3 Custodes simultaneously does not spark any scepticism and question from any 40k fan who knows who you are.
@@thydzz2180 I *guess* that such a fight might be the result of an unlikely alpha strike, but I don't quite believe it. I'm not game-experienced though, so don't trust my judgment. I'd like to see the result of that match being played100 times.
@@garouHH same here but the table top power scale is a bit more toned down compared to the actual lore. Toned down for balance purposes. You really cant play a game where a Custodes could simply one-shot Assault Marines with one action phase
This is another great video on Warhammer 40K. I rewatch the video on Madrakes. I was wondering why you didn't mention Kheradruakh the Decapitator. He is a great character. I forget which story it is. Horus Heresy Old Earth, or Primarch Vulkan. Kheradruakh the Decapitator battles Vulkan twice. The first time Vulkan retreats from him. The second time Kheradruakh flees from Vulkan. This makes him unique as he is the only non-Daemon, Primarch, or Emperor to fight a Primarch and survive.

Note: Her name was Teresa of the faint smile.
Beautiful you should release a collection of short stories. I would definitely buy that
You had me at Incubi and then you mentioned Drazhar Master of Blades! This has made my 2021 so thank you so much. I now own a Drazhar miniature and cannot wait for him to butcher his way through multitudes of cowering pig Mon keigh. It's all they deserve, because they are a prey species and nothing more.
I could listen to this content all day long!
Perfect timing sir! I'm assembling Drazhar and a squad of Incubi right now :)
ASMR 40K content ahead full speed captain.
Well done! A terrifying opponent and a scary sect of Drukhari! Well Done Brother Baldermort!
Thanks brother Sulea. :) :)
I was sharpening a knife on a wet stone while listening to this video. I feel oddly in sync and malicious now.
On another note Striking Scorpions are my favorite aspect warriors so I hope they get a great video to show their own prowess. (Maybe a revenge hunt on the Incubus shines?)
Remember to like and comment to appease the almighty algorithm 😁👍🏼
Your narrative made me realize that humanity is to the Eldar (I won't use the newspeak term for that xenos filth) that Orks are to the glorious Imperium.
Well this was some good timing. I’m just starting my first ever 40k army and it just happens to be dark eldar. I might just have drazhar as my warlord now.
Also baldermort, I love you’re content. You do amazing work man, from your own stories to the way you cover the lore. Always will I support, view and share your content.
It’s a gorgeous army. Takes time to ‘get it right’ but their potential is amazing. Great choice for army! (Yep. I play dark Kin too).
;). Enjoy!
@@Baldermort aw that’s awesome! I don’t wanna take up to much time but what would be some good starting units? I have a raider, some wychs and some kabalite warriors.
@@williambaldwin6779 honestly, just wait a few weeks before deciding. The new codex coined and should change everything. But raiders and venoms are essential. But there are three armies in the Drukhari really. Cults, Kabals and covens. It all depends on which army you will use, or all. But the rules need to come out before I can get confident in any advice at all. Sorry. Nearly there though. :).
@@Baldermort ah ok, well thank you man! I can’t wait to get this army going, and I can’t wait to see what masterpiece you post next!
What a rare treat
"Ahh, my head's off."
Drukhari lore!? Color me quite pleased.
Finally got a day off.., what a treat to find this episode waiting for “little old me”.
Hope all’s well {our} fine and humble narrator.
••• gotta say.., I’ve heard of these guys, now I know more..., and am even more disturbed, scary business, this••• and as always..,
Keep on playing, Player....😎
*narrows eyes* Vulcan sends his regards. *fires multi-melta at incubus*
Loll. :).
Kheradruach send his regards
And spend all there time hiding from the Crazy Mon'key on the Bike
Another absolutely Sublime performance my fine Sir❕👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻
This was amazing, thanks for the content.
He even killed three custodes?
Well they are not invincible, i guess named characters have to get a few in
He killed 3 custodes *simultanously* quick reminder that other factions are vastly underestimated
What story?
@@Chadegon1693 Ok, i only knew the jist of the story
Thanks Love your work keep it up. For the emperor of man and for Rogal
For ROGAL!!!
At least we know the Eldar won't go extinct any time soon.
Thank you sir.
Lastly, it always hilarious to rip a unit of these...degenerates to pieces with my Genestealers, just gotta rep my bois lol
perfect
My first reaction was to open the datasheets for Drazhar and Custodian Guards.
@@garouHH What did you find out about their stats??
@@thydzz2180 I *guess* that such a fight might be the result of an unlikely alpha strike, but I don't quite believe it. I'm not game-experienced though, so don't trust my judgment. I'd like to see the result of that match being played100 times.
@@garouHH same here but the table top power scale is a bit more toned down compared to the actual lore. Toned down for balance purposes. You really cant play a game where a Custodes could simply one-shot Assault Marines with one action phase
Masterful. Draz and his Incubi are the core of my army of the dark kin.
Last time i was here this early the Emperor wasn't a vegetable yet.
What’s nice is their new rules make them deadly af.
I cannot wait for the Phoenix lords. Both from yourself and GW - seriously GE give us our f***** lords of our most key lore aspect (pun intended)
This is the benefit of the old ways... perfection.
God i love the Dark Eldar. Drazhar and the Visarch are the best
Not gonna lie, it felt good to "see" that eldar that was talking so much shit about humans, get toyed with and killed by the Incubi.
Future video on Ahra? Like I wasn't impatient enough between uploads...
The while lot of The Phoenix lords. Hoping to get to it next month. Hoping.
@@Baldermort most excellent! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the aeldari's most senior veterans
