The blurry photos of this band performing live really add a lot to hearing this song, and I can't explain it. It's almost like I can see them playing live in my mind's eye

Thanks, I had done videos that way before (when I have photos from the band, not photos from the internet) and viewers seemed annoyed. I prefer it, but your mileage may vary...

Does anyone know if there is a difference in mastering or sound quality between the 45 on Phalanx and the one on RCA, or did RCA use the same metal plates?

Interesting query - be honest I never did an A/B check. Different matrix numbers - Phalanx has hand etched #'s, the RCA has machine stamped. I'll check.

OK, recorded both with the exact same equipment / levels / programs. The RCA is measurably hotter on the levels. With the different run-out styles, I'd guess RCA had the tapes and made their own stampers. Your mileage may vary...

@@vinylfool Yup, makes sense as RCA made their own master and stamper specifically for AM transistor radio airplay.
