この名文を初めて知ることができた。ありがとう。
日本にある「指輪物語」の翻訳は初出が半世紀前(1972年。1992年にVer. 1.1 も出たがこれも酷かった)で、異世界の話なのに無理矢理日本語の単語に変換し、読める状態ではなかった。(それでも熱狂的ファンがいた模様)
しかし調べたら、たった3か月前に新訳が出てた。映画版の同じに自然な英語の名前、単語を使ってるとのことで、もう一回挑戦したく思う。
