love how the titles tell a story: *While Justice Sleeps,* *The Void* of tyranny is *Rising.* The voices of the downtrodden and oppressed call to me, like *A Moth to A Flame.* There was a time when my name stood for Victory, for Valor, but today, in the face of unjust laws, *V is for Villain.* *I am the Shadow* that stalks the comfortable. To those who would exploit the weak, I am *Vengeance.* All who wish to find me need only *Follow the Light.* or something like that. idk.
Your talent has improved so much over the years its unbelievable. Those hard/aggressive drops, relentless tense buildıp climaxes.. its all giving me goose bumps.
Just my personal opinion... My favorite for a long time was The Untold II. I liked Bloodline. Heroes and Legendary were really good. The Gloaming almost overtook The Untold II to become my favorite. But... A Moth to A Flame... oh yeah. This is the one. I can't believe it's been 7 years since I've first found you, and you've still out-done yourself. Thank you.
Thanks!! Have some super exciting stuff on the way, a couple tracks recorded with live orchestra & some with supremely talented vocalists. Exploring adding vocals and lyrics to my music turned out so cool!! Can't wait to share
There's a lot of epic music out there, but this one has a very special chic, a flair. It's a well-written composition, where I hear the influence of Nine Inch Nails. And a real sense of the dark power theme. Oh yeah, this evil art scares me!
Related note: Moths don't run into flames. They fly around it. The reason they fly around flames is because the orient their backs towards the sun or the stars. Eventually, they get so tired of flying that they have to land _somewhere._ Sometimes, its right directly on the fire.
That’s the thing about a well written villain, they aren’t evil for evils sake. They are the hero in their story and think this is the only way forward.
Peace is an idea. We have been trying to bring it into fruition for centuries, only to revel in small glimpses of it. Violence and hate are at our core. We use peace as a tool to subdue our true nature until the storm is unleashed. It's always a balance, we use war to bring peace not peace to bring war.
Lol… villains rarely ever believe they are the villain. They are usually a victim or hero in their own eyes. In fact, authors who understand this and lean into it tend to make the best villains. Villains who are evil for evil sake or who have antisocial disorders like sociopathy or psychopathy are generally less impactful as villains who believe they are right and have significant reason to feel and act as they do. A tragic villain can make for a powerful story; one who we know is evil, but we feel that in their shoes, we would do the same. We know they’re wrong, but we still feel for them. All of that said, Negan from the Walking Dead is one of my fave villains. At his peak leading the Saviors, he was not a tragic villain. He was pretty sadistic and power-hungry. Not much justification for him. Most of the top villains in TWD are not very tragic. I hated the Governor. Ramble ended… XD
@@svarbor728 No worries about the ramble, I get it. I'm fairly similar, as it's my philosophy as a game designer / writer that every character needs to feel human. Which is why I have always been drawn morally grey settings and tragic stories. As these stories tend to focus on the human aspect of the character, not just hyper-focusing on characters whose only identifying feature is the trope they copy.
“There is no such thing as freedom in your world, only allotted playtime. I am no longer bound by those rules, I have been liberated. Now the flames of my passion shall burn across this land, eradicating the cancer that you call society.”
“Fairness is the refrain of the lazy, the inept, the heroic. Anyone unwilling to stack the deck and murder the judge to seize victory has no place wielding any real power.”
I feel like this is too serious and brooding to serve my whole villain arc. Like, yes, me turning into a villain would be extremely serious, just because of how much it would take to get me there, but then my tone would often be very different. Exciting for missions (Hiroyuki Sawano), tragic and sweeping when my allies make their stand (Howard Shore), jazzy for dominating (RWBY), playful at times (Beetlejuice Main Titles or Ready To from Brand New Animal). I'm very in touch with aesthetics, even in my day to day life. The parts of me that recognize the seriousness and that brood might use music like this, but I'm also more of an optimist than a pessimist: I try to find positive spins, even for bleak scenarios. If I realize that I've become a villain and STILL decide to go through with things, I can actually see myself embracing the identity of super villain.
I think that when the world rejects us, hurts us and torments us with false hope, it's easy to try to succumb to hate, anger, resentment and pain. At that point most of us want to get back at the world, seek revenge for all the misdeeds that lead us into the dark. But perhaps, rather than fighting what made us, we should try to fight it. We should conquer the dark, and by that, conquer ourselves. We could never cherish the light hardly as much as we do when we've experienced the dark void of Pain. To those reading this, I wish you that the Villain Arc does not destroy you. I wish you conquest your demons. I wish you find hope in the dark. And I wish you never lose the ability to love, for all your tears were not in vain. Unfortunately the pain won't go away, but you can forge it into your dream and one day be glad you did. I'll see you then!
*Wake up to reality. Nothing ever goes as planned in this accursed world. The longer you live, the more you realize that the only things that truly exist in this reality are merely pain, suffering and futility*
“ As The Devil on my shoulder cultivated my belief of winning the game I play. I am so manipulated by the dream inside, so here is where I stay. The soul bone dry, in each and every way. A king’s ride to the top of his dreams. So rich, while so damn broke. Now you know that being the king among this throne is the path to fully feeling alone..” - Me
Excellent music to write probably one of my favorite villains in my story. Fazaar, the leader of the Akamzaar, is a disenter from part 1 that the main villain from that one put down, but didnt outright kill. In part 2, he and his band of demons hide away to find a way to enter the mortal human realm. And then they do, and reduce the human population by 80% He employs a vicious and sadistic rule over his demonic kin, and he is unafraid of utilizing a special poison that acts more like an acid that he personally developed for his own use. He loathes humans as the main villain that nearly killed him was a half human, so he became unhinged with trying to eradicate the human race. That said, he is intelligent, and is not simply power drunk. He and his twin brother Tokaar are a special race of demons that resemble elves, wearing solid black armor with hidden components to surpise unsuspecting foes. (His brother Tokaar is very different to Fazaar though, he is not bloodthirsty and is actually stoic and loyal to a fault. But he follows his brothers wishes despite how much he personally detests the means and methods.)
