Your videos are A-1 ! As a native Atlantan i enjoy watching your content . I feel like I'm in the passenger seat with you. If we could tone the violence down Atlanta will still be a beautiful city
I love your videos---as a native Atlantan, your Atlanta videos always make me homesick. I marvel at how much Atlanta has changed over the past 20 years!
Beautiful work, Jim! Atlanta has changed sooo much since I first visited in '96 (and it changed a lot before then, too). The streetscape improvements on Peachtree in MIdtown are really nice, and it will get even better with the streetcar that's planned to run down it. I really wanted to film this type of tour during the night on my trip last month. I'm thinking I can get down there and do it this summer. Maybe a possible Freewayjim/CosmoPhotography collaboration? haha Super job, again!
downtown atlanta, i loved the tour, thank you hwy jim. i'm planning on relocating to atlanta from baltimore, md. my sister will be moving to Atlanta in a few months. i think i'm falling in love w/ a beautiful City.
My wife & 2 boys from Nigeria where on a 7 weeks vacation in the US, From NY we went to Charlotte NC,then to DC,to Tysons corner, to Atlanta by Amtrak to see my big bro Tony at Duluth. Took us round & Atlanta was breath taking & fun all the way. CNN, The AQUARIUM, Convention centre Wow. Downtown, Midtown, Buckhead, we foraged thru all these places. Martin Luther King Memorial, yea, we were there. Never got to the busy airport. Thanks Bro Tony,Delores,Nnamdi. Justin Chima Uzoka.
BTW -- meant to say, I love your channel. I have sent your videos to a number of people around the world and they have been suprised at how modern most American cities are disspelling certain stereotypes aome have around the world about the US. To the contrary, most have been SHOCKED at how modern the US is in reality. I sometimes take it for granted -- that is, until I travel abroad and return. THANK YOU!
Hey Freewayjim, I just want to say that I LOVE Atlanta It is just the place to me. And everytime I used to visit there, when we would leave there I would cry because its just not the same as other Georgia towns. Thanks for making this lovely video. You get a thumbs up:)
I live here, and I'm a life baffled that there was almost no traffic. Lol. I think the green Ford F150 thought you where following him. (lol) Awesome video. :D
i love crab cakes :) they're my favorite seafood dish. i think i can do without the water. we had flash flood warnings over the weekend due to the heavy rains. there was some floodings in some parts of baltimore and the surrounding counties. i'm going to show my husband the video slides, thanks again. i forgot to mention you picked the perfect music track Red Sky, i have that CD We Live Here. i would love to see more of Atlanta keep those videos coming Freewayjim.
This is good to see. I'll be seeing a lot of these streets in person for the first time in October. I'm traveling on Amtrak, and the local city bus will take me down Peachtree St NE.
@GoGETTAMAN12 Thanks for the suggestion, you are the first person in 4.5 years to say that the text distracts from the view. I have considered your suggestion before but I'm afraid if I went in that direction people would complain that I'm ruining the music by talking over it. I can't win, lol! This format I'm using works IMO, I try hard not to place text where there is something of great interest to see.
@casmatori Yes, you are correct on that. There are only so many streets that are worth filming. The only reason I did this video is that the 2009 version is very popular but in standard def, I wanted it upgraded to HD. The videos I shot in 2010 are in HD so no need to upgrade them right now.
Excellent video. I love Atlanta although I was born and raised in Queens New York. Iam thinking about buying a condo in Atlanta and making it my second home. I was in Atlanta last year for a motorcycle event and brought by motorcycle with me. I love the smooth roads on the highway. Also I can't forget the food and southern hospitality. Love it!
This was uploaded in the spring. Atlantic Station in the summer is no joke and I live in Jamaica. Thought I was going to die just getting out of the car to go into IKEA. My sister agrees with you about the 180 degree turn of that section of Peachtree. Said it was sketchy in the extreme back then.
Should not be a problem at all. The suburbs of Atlanta -- especially those in the the north where Duluth is located, are simply wonderful -- as nice a places as you will find anywhere on the planet.
Awesome video! Peachtree St is amazing. Small correction: BofA Plaza is now the 9th tallest building in the US and will be down to12th if/when the 3 World Trade center Towers are finished in NY. (Sorry, I'm a freeway AND a skyscraper nerd) ;)
At 4:20 after you passed the Fox Theater,was where I used to work at the Bank of America Bldg.I was working here when 9/11 happened.I was supposed to work later that day but after what happened,they closed the building and I stayed home that day.
Now that I have moved to the antebellum capital of Milledgeville, looking forward to taking a similar weekend ride in the future, either through the peaceful Oconee National Forest via GA 212 or Interstate 20. Thank you.
Thx alot for making this it was indeed helpful, also this isn't hate it's so u dont get done maybe try blocking the license plates on other vehicles so ya dont get in trouble :)
@cabasse Thank you! on #1) we can agree to disagree, not even close. #2) I took Ellis as a means to get to the highway and end the video (and start the next one). Adding Auburn & Edgewood would have made the video too long but they could be used as separate subjects for other videos at some point.
@bichonn10 Thanks! I like Baltimore a lot but I think Atlanta has far more to offer, the only thing you'll really miss is the water, and oh yeah you can get good crabcakes here :)
@messiaen100 I have one in my collection on here, that doesn't mean you'll see any exotic cars though. You WILL see them at the Lenox Square Valet Parking area however, especially on a Friday/saturday night.
I'm back and forth on where to live. I'm from NY, but its too expensive, in terms of buying an apt with good space. I'm looking at Atlanta, Chicago, and Denver. Atlanta is ahead now because it seems diverse, has a nightlife, modern, cost of living is great, and good weather.
One of the best tours i've found of any city - well done! My wife and i are planning a visit to get a feel for the area ahead of a possible move within the next couple of years. my wife is 30 with a PhD in Mechanical engineering and i am 48 and a lowly city planner with tons of Geospatial analysis experience. i told my wife i needed to live in a city with an Ikea - we currently live in Melbourne FL :O( i know traffic is bad but is that a huge deal-breaker for transplants? i've had two friends move up and back but i didn't ask them why. we like the outdoors and we have a Boykin Spaniel that needs tons of exercise. we would naturally like a single-family house with a backyard but we know we are asking a lot. any thoughts?
Thank you...traffic can be bad but at least there are large roads to handle it, you learn what parts of town to avoid at certain times with regard to rush hour. My family moved here in 1977 from the Northeast, no way we'd move back. As for the house, too many factors involved I don't know your situation, where you'd work and such, I suggest you contact a realtor with those types of questions.
@Freewayjim Oh sorry my mistake, I meant to say videos of Peachtree and Downtown Atlanta etc. Now that was atleast January 2010 which is over 14 months.
@Headbiter The older cities in the northeast are less car reliant than the newer southern cities, which are more spread out due to cheap land and at the time, cheap fuel. Not having a car in America is the exception to the rule for the most part.
@Freewayjim Interesting stuff here. All the office and apartment high rises resemble Downtown L.A. a little bit with the exception that midtown Atlanta has a lot more trees lining down the sidewalks. Looks nice enough to just park the car, and take a long walk up and down Peachtree for a closer view and get some sun on your shoulders. That's what I would like to do.
This is nice, thank you. By the way I live in Sacramento and I've also lived in Seattle. Atlanta has much better weather than Seattle. Atlanta is rain and shine, Seattle is grey, rain, and more grey. You get about 6-8 weeks of decent weather in Seatlle, that's it.
Yes, Americans love their cars. BUT, Atlanta has a very modern (somewhat underutilized) mass transit system -- MARTA -- with high speed subways and buses that will make getting around fairly easy. Just check out the MARTA website. There is a big station at the airport.
great vid! two personal opinions: 1) the 5th st bridge is better IMO (and i think even the 14th st one is more interesting from the perspective above) 2) ellis is a terrible street to drive and/or walk down. auburn or edgewood are infinitely more interesting. (and will be improving that much more whem light rail is running down them next year)
Your videos are A-1 ! As a native Atlantan i enjoy watching your content . I feel like I'm in the passenger seat with you. If we could tone the violence down Atlanta will still be a beautiful city
Thank you very much!
I love your videos---as a native Atlantan, your Atlanta videos always make me homesick. I marvel at how much Atlanta has changed over the past 20 years!
ATL is a beautiful place, I hope to live there in the future & you're videos have completely convinced me!
Thanx for the tour. I found it very useful👍. ATL here I come!
Beautiful work, Jim! Atlanta has changed sooo much since I first visited in '96 (and it changed a lot before then, too). I love your channel and the soft music
downtown atlanta, i loved the tour, thank you hwy jim. i'm planning on relocating to atlanta from baltimore, md. my sister will be moving to Atlanta in a few months. i think i'm falling in love w/ a beautiful City.
I love this song thnxz for introducing meh to it!
Bria Simmons You are very welcome!
Wonderful video of Atlanta. Thanks for sharing.

Cool vid' FreewayJim. Love the track that you chose to go with the sights and sounds of Atlanta. Very fitting.
Hey Freewayjim,
I just want to say that I LOVE Atlanta It is just the place to me. And everytime I used to visit there, when we would leave there I would cry because its just not the same as other Georgia towns. Thanks for making this lovely video. You get a thumbs up:)
+Stories Of The Bible Thank you very much for the comment!
Thanks so much for making these. It's a great way to go back without actually being there.
This is a very nice tour. Thanks!
Thank you for watching!
Great ride Jim, Atlanta is such a beautiful city!! Thanks for the tour.
Well put video. Thanks for showing .
I live here, and I'm a life baffled that there was almost no traffic. Lol. I think the green Ford F150 thought you where following him. (lol)

Atlanta is such a lovely city, wished we had spent more time there.
Thanks for watching!
I remember these streets well. Great weather and nice place to be.
thanks for the video!!
Me too! Anything north from downtown and up is the real nice looking side of Atlanta too
This is good to see. I'll be seeing a lot of these streets in person for the first time in October. I'm traveling on Amtrak, and the local city bus will take me down Peachtree St NE.
Thank you for watching, I'm glad you enjoy them!

Thats a really good hobby! Keep up the good work
i like the music it reminds me of the early 2000s😋
Thanks
Very clever. Thank you for this.
+Hamed Hamad Thanks for watching!
Glad you enjoyed your stay in Atlanta and thanks for watching!
It's not really a song, it's a royalty free loop called Chelsea Loft, the full 37 second version of it is here on UA-cam.
Thanks and glad to hear it!

my hometown Atlanta GA, since 1999
At 4:20 after you passed the Fox Theater,was where I used to work at the Bank of America Bldg.I was working here when 9/11 happened.I was supposed to work later that day but after what happened,they closed the building and I stayed home that day.
@jnd080895 Thanks, that clip is a loop called "Chelsea Flats" it's not a real song or anything, just an instrumental loop.
Thanks!
Now that I have moved to the antebellum capital of Milledgeville, looking forward to taking a similar weekend ride in the future, either through the peaceful Oconee National Forest via GA 212 or Interstate 20. Thank you.
luvcarsgay Woah you know Milledgeville too?
@tuki1boo "The Track Formerly Known As ?" By Electric Triangle, I mentioned it in the closing credits, glad you liked it!
great video. I am from this city
Thx alot for making this it was indeed helpful, also this isn't hate it's so u dont get done maybe try blocking the license plates on other vehicles so ya dont get in trouble :)
It's not bad to film licence plate on purpus
@Reiser86 Thanks, I forgot to point out the restored Margaret Mitchell house just past 10th street, doh!
@wipandco Thanks, there are like 25-30 Ikea's across the country.
@ScrewdUPClickV2 Thank you and dually noted on the night idea.
It's been so long since your last videos of Atlanta. Like 14 months!
@remnant72 You are welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Nice city. Nice view.
@MyFord04 Thank you!
Very nice tour! I didn't know Ikea had stores in the US.
@the905sDW Thank you, it's a great city!
@CAMINOANDALUZ Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!

Did you and your wife ever make the move to Atlanta?
@Freewayjim Oh sorry my mistake, I meant to say videos of Peachtree and Downtown Atlanta etc. Now that was atleast January 2010 which is over 14 months.
@StudiousFocus No, it's not really a mess, or least I haven't noticed it.
@kiddkreme Thank you!
I agree with Courtney. Born and raised here it's always hardly nothing to do. But the weekends are always the club scene - gets tiring quick.
What is the name of the clip you have at the beginning of this (as well as many clips) as you introduce yourself. Very catchy!
Great job!!!
@DaddyIvo Thank you! I really try to make that work, glad you thought so.
@Headbiter The older cities in the northeast are less car reliant than the newer southern cities, which are more spread out due to cheap land and at the time, cheap fuel. Not having a car in America is the exception to the rule for the most part.
Very nice, but I was hoping that you'd swing by Turner Field :)
@Freewayjim

@Dreman1731 Oh, no prob, thanks!
@bigM10231 I mentioned it during the video along with the CD art and in the closing credits. 'The track formerly known as ?" by Mr. Electric Triangle.
@McBearPEI There is a town called Peachtree City in the metro afrea (SW of the city) I think for now the nickname for Atlanta is "The ATL"
Wow I was out in that area today... I might have ran into you lol...
moving there soon but still packing see ya there!!
My pleasure
"The Track Formerly Known As?" by Mr. Electric Triangle, I listed it in the closing credits.
@casmatori Correction, I did two I-75 videos through Metro Atlanta last month.
A lot has changed since I left but a lot is still the same.I can`t wait to move back.
@CosmoPhotography Thank you, Sounds like a plan!!!!
@PeteTheChopp Thanks, Good to know, I got the "6th Thanks" from Wikipedia
whats the name of this music? its so chill...
@purplesparklesox Thanks, I hope things work out for you.
This is the perfect Washington, D.C. day song, if you ever do a street tour on Washington, you should use this song
Yes, Americans love their cars. BUT, Atlanta has a very modern (somewhat underutilized) mass transit system -- MARTA -- with high speed subways and buses that will make getting around fairly easy. Just check out the MARTA website. There is a big station at the airport.

Generfication, the airport, and a well planned city has revitalized Atlanta into a major economic center in the US, despite the recent housing crisis.
Can't wait to move here in November
Whats the name of the songs? My wife and I would cruise to this when we come visit ATL
@bichonn10 Thank you!
@blige4lyfe I might do another Buckhead video at some point.
yes !!!!!! more.......
Great! Can you make one to introduce Atlanta Chinatown and HMart supermarket? Thank you.
Wow, Love it! is the weather always this nice?
Will say it's winter u need a jacket and summer days could.be hot sometimes.
@bmbsage I agree!
