I think a lot of people didn’t realize that The Sims 4 was originally not being designed to be the next game in the series, but it was going to be some online Sims game. Then something happened, they didn’t want to risk releasing it and have it backfire, so they just changed some stuff and made it The Sims 4. That’s why so much stuff, SO. MUCH. It’s a lot better nowadays for sure (if you have all 567 game packs) and it’s free at least, but that’s why it didn’t feel as strong as the last two games.
Maybe the casual gamers don't, but I see this talked about in the community all the time, so it's not exactly a secret. I understand how it's gutted code, but I still don't find it acceptable. They should have either stuck with the online game and trusted the process, or actually took their time with remaking it into 4 with communication on why it's being delayed. No matter how you look at it, it was poor management. It's almost $1,200 USD to get all the dlc for 4 (as of July 9th, 2024) and will continue to go up for as long as they add things to the game, even if the base game is free now (which doesn't mean anyone who paid for it is getting a refund). That's a down payment on a car. In no universe, whether we're to feel bad on their failed online project or not, is that okay.
As far as water “quality” goes, it’s hard to choose which I like best. Sims 2 seems the most “pool” like, as if it would be decently warm and relaxing to swim in, but it doesn’t have much reflection to it, so it kinda seems like they’re swimming in a transparent void. Sims 3 water seems overly “watery”. It looks like it’d be cold and dense to swim in, yet refreshing. Sims 4 water is highly reflective, to the point where it almost looks like tin foil from some angles, but looks decently refreshing to swim in depending on which water swatch you use. The teal-toned, “sparkling pool water” from Get Together looks way better than the base game pool water, IMO. The base game pool water just looks like plain, untreated *water* from a garden hose or something.

@@javadbahram795 Who cares? Sims 3's pools are better, they have so much more features than its previous game and, while physics might lack, all the stuff you can do compensates it.
The sims 1 is the only game with no water physics whatsoever. No splashes, ripples nor seeing the bottom of the pool. Just sound effects. But what do you expect from a game in 2000? But some games in 1998 had 2D water planes like sims 3 and 4 along with 3D splashes so the Sims 1 could’ve have at least had some water effect’s even being able to see the bottom of the pool could’ve been included in the Sims 1 like hot tubs.
Would have been harder to implement transparency for pools (but probably not impossible?). The hot tub is a singular object with a consistent set of bitmaps attached to its tiles, but I think pools are technically built differently so they'd probably need something entirely different in order to work.
Unique to the Sims 1 is that the PC version doesn't have water physics at all but the console version does. Also for the PC version for the Sims 1 the water looks like someone went overboard with the chlorine but for the console version they took it half way to what it would become for the Sims 2's PC version.
°Getting in = S3/S4, in both you don't need to use the ladder. (+0.5). °Swimming = S3, you can snorkel. (+1). °Getting out = S3/S4, in both you don't need to use the ladder. (+0.5). °Pool Slide = S2, has better animations. (+1). °Water Physics = S2, it shows the love they had for that game. (+1). °Diving Board = S2/S3, the object simply exists. (+0.5). °Chicken out = S2, you really feel the fear. (+1). °Back Float = S4, looks more natural. (+1). °Lounge = S3, I prefer animation to teleportation. (+1). °Skinny Dip = S3, the clothes are left out of the pool so that someone else can hide them. (+1). S1= 0 points but we forgive this one for being the first. S2= 1 + 1 + 0.5 + 1 = 3.5 points. S3= 0.5 + 1 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 1 + 1= 4.5 points. S4= 0.5 + 0.5 + 1 = 2 points. and the winner is..... The Sims 3!!!!.
In Sims 4 you can do a basement around the pool and have windows to watch the swimmers like an aquarium. I think there are tricks to achieve that in Sims 3 too.
I gotta hand it over to TS4, honestly. I'm the type who enjoys sitting on the pool edges with my legs in the water, and TS4 provides that. On top of the lounging and back floating. Plus, the dogs can join in, too LOL TS3 is a close second. TS2 is third 'cause of the water physics but loses because TS3 & TS4 can have Sims exit the pools without a pool ladder, to so. Always bothered me they couldn't get out of the pool without a pool ladder, so that's why TS3 & TS4 win me over than TS2 water physics.
Ah yes the most common thing people think about when playing the sims games building their sims pools and of course be evil about it like taking out the ladders
feel like the sims 2 is something that people enjoy working on with animation and everything it is just heartfelt. It doesn't mean the other doesn't but their direction is more... plastic like
People should just make videos about The Sims 2 as it is superior in far too many ways. I myself included just love The Sims 2, and even though The Sims 1 has its charm and nostalgic feel to it...the first said about The Sims 2 stands.
Sims 2 water physics are the best and i miss my sims playing marco-polo, and I miss having real driving boards. If they could add those to the Sims 4 game it would be the best!
@dark5inside That is strange, I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you, whenever I remember playing the Sims 2, I remember it like in the video we just watched. Maybe the creator of the video would know. Sorry I wasn't much help. Fountains are pretty though :)
I wouldnt be surprised if the sims 4 added a diving board like the ones from the previous sims games they didnt animate it to boh slightly when the sims walk on it, i think they would only animate it to bounce when they go to actually jump off it Ive never actually played any sims games rather than 4 but honestly there are so many little things about the sims 4 that makes it look a bit lazy/more unfinished compared to the earlier games
funny that I started with the og sims and a lot of what I was remembering was from sims 2. Like when I read the subtitle with the "chicken out" for the og sims I immediately was waiting for the sims 2 animation and was surprised that it didn't until I saw the sims 2 animation and was like 'oooooh *that's* where I saw that one!"
Still waiting on the mod or even official game pack that would add slides in diving boards and waterfalls I think because they don’t really have that feature in the Sims four
I have already filmed it while making this video, but somehow I made a mistake and didn't include it in the final editing. I made a UA-cam short comparing Sims 3 and Sims 4 dogs and swimming. ❤
*SPOILER WARNING FOR THE VIDEO* This one is very difficult for me. I enjoy the sims 2 water physics but I think that Sims 3 added enough new things to the pool and swimming to make up for the loss of splash. That being said I am very sad that Sims 3 removed the chance for sims to chicken out while diving. Side note: Peeing in the pool was very funny
I used to have a male Sim in Sims 1 that couldn't use a water slide to save his life. Any time he used one, he would just fall down like a clumsy eggroll. I think he managed to do it right once, and then he drowned. EDIT: I'll confess, I repeated 12:58 more times than I should have. Sims 2 and 3 are funny when they belly flop into the water, but in the Sims 4, is like they know they messed up right off the bat, and they accept their fate like wet toilet paper.
0:45-0:60 no way that was what other people were playing, I just remember sims 2 sims 3 and now 4 but like I knew it was very disappointing the sims 1, like what is that breath and that swim and the face is low poly for that time 😭💀🤚🏃♂️, I’m running away, IM RUNNING AWAY 😭😭😭😭
@@dark5insidetry changing the type of water (the video shows the different types at 17:17) and/or change the tiles on the pool walls and floor (the same way you change walls and flooring on any room).

I think this is the first comparison, so far, where anyone stands a chance against Sims 2, aka Sims 3 imo. But, Sims 2 is the winner non the less. As always.
The depth level of the Sims 1 was always concerning… when they come up above water (or pause swimming to tread water) it looks like its waist deep & that’s definitely not a level you should be diving in 😂 smh

Maybe it didn't have water physics but at least had pool slides and diving boards with nice animations ❤️
7:31 loved the different angles
S2= 1 + 1 + 0.5 + 1 = 3.5 points.
S3= 0.5 + 1 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 1 + 1= 4.5 points.
S4= 0.5 + 0.5 + 1 = 2 points.
and the winner is..... The Sims 3!!!!.
hahah That was a very detailed explanation! It makes sense ❤️
That intro was amazing
I'm so happy you liked the intro dear! ❤ ❤
i see the sims 4 took inspiration from the sims 1 for their water physics 👌🏻
In Sims 4 you can do a basement around the pool and have windows to watch the swimmers like an aquarium. I think there are tricks to achieve that in Sims 3 too.
On peut le faire aussi dans les sims 3 sans mode ou astuce
That is seriously really cool lol.
Always bothered me they couldn't get out of the pool without a pool ladder, so that's why TS3 & TS4 win me over than TS2 water physics.
vfx when the water splash in sims2 is the best
Ah yes the most common thing people think about when playing the sims games building their sims pools and of course be evil about it like taking out the ladders
feel like the sims 2 is something that people enjoy working on with animation and everything it is just heartfelt. It doesn't mean the other doesn't but their direction is more... plastic like
2:12 I can hear the "Here there friends my name is Kevin" at that very moment
People should just make videos about The Sims 2 as it is superior in far too many ways. I myself included just love The Sims 2, and even though The Sims 1 has its charm and nostalgic feel to it...the first said about The Sims 2 stands.
Once again, further proving sims 2 is the best
Sims 3 forever 🎉
3:20 i tought my pc crashed.
Not the ice cream truck 😭😭
omg your videos are perfect! so many details I love that! can't wait to see next one ♥
Thank you so much dear! Very soon ❤❤❤
15:13, I caught that foreground gag lol nice touch for realistic gameplay
Wow this channel and your videos are blowing up! Really well done. I love your editing style. Keep it up!!
Thank you so much! ❤
I love these type of videos, never stop making them❤
Thank you so much dear! More to come! ❤
as always, sims 2 comes out on top for me!
these videos are so good & informative, keep up the great work! ❤👍🏾
Thank you! Will do! ❤❤
I wouldnt be surprised if the sims 4 added a diving board like the ones from the previous sims games they didnt animate it to boh slightly when the sims walk on it, i think they would only animate it to bounce when they go to actually jump off it
Ive never actually played any sims games rather than 4 but honestly there are so many little things about the sims 4 that makes it look a bit lazy/more unfinished compared to the earlier games
*bob, not boh
New expansion, adding not animated diving boards, 40$
sims 1 pool was just blue 😂
Opaque water, yaaaay. 😅 lol
Sims 4 summed up: "Unlike in (previous installment), (feature) is not available."
They should make a sims 5 with the realism of the second game and the open world of the third game and then the graphics of the sims 4
Sims 2 has the best physics, when the sims dives in the water you can see the water move and ripple instead of there just being a small graphic
Everyone’s favorite murder weapon
15:12 Is that sim in the background in an isolation room...?
funny that I started with the og sims and a lot of what I was remembering was from sims 2. Like when I read the subtitle with the "chicken out" for the og sims I immediately was waiting for the sims 2 animation and was surprised that it didn't until I saw the sims 2 animation and was like 'oooooh *that's* where I saw that one!"
I’m an og too, but I definitely spent way more time on my sims 2
Bro honestly same and it was so annoying when they chickened out.I used to force my sims constantly to go and dive until they did
the sims 3 ATE them up omg
Still waiting on the mod or even official game pack that would add slides in diving boards and waterfalls I think because they don’t really have that feature in the Sims four
Dogs also swim in Sims 3.
I have already filmed it while making this video, but somehow I made a mistake and didn't include it in the final editing. I made a UA-cam short comparing Sims 3 and Sims 4 dogs and swimming. ❤
Please do a video of comparisons with the computers in the sims series…
Yes! It is on my list! ❤️
13:14 WTF? That never happened in my game...at least so far 🤣
*SPOILER WARNING FOR THE VIDEO*
This one is very difficult for me. I enjoy the sims 2 water physics but I think that Sims 3 added enough new things to the pool and swimming to make up for the loss of splash. That being said I am very sad that Sims 3 removed the chance for sims to chicken out while diving.
Side note: Peeing in the pool was very funny
Wait they can pee in the pool?
@@Pollicina_dbOnly in Sims 4 I think.
Those all options were available in the basic version or packs were necessary?
Somehow pool water in the sims 4 looks the weirdest
sims 4 have different types of water . not just one
@@lynfletcher7744Yes but the default one looks bad and if you don't have the right packs your only other options are red and green water.
Nobody's gonna talk about 3:21?
Wow, it's been a while since I played Sims on my cell phone, it was my childhood 😍
That’s why TS2 is remakable.
3:20 I thought i got a BSOD Lmao
This comparisons are pretty cool
Thank youu ❤
The Sims 2 still the best Sims released.
I love that Sims 4 added Sitting on the Side of the pool
Sims 2 was really top tier! I haven’t played in years and never really realized how much features they took away😢 ugh
Sims 3 has got big vibes, I really love this.
Insane that it only lasted 5 years yet managed to come out with this amount of content
Lmaoo😂 they couldve kept the very first sims to they selves ngl
I used to have a male Sim in Sims 1 that couldn't use a water slide to save his life. Any time he used one, he would just fall down like a clumsy eggroll.
I think he managed to do it right once, and then he drowned.
EDIT: I'll confess, I repeated 12:58 more times than I should have. Sims 2 and 3 are funny when they belly flop into the water, but in the Sims 4, is like they know they messed up right off the bat, and they accept their fate like wet toilet paper.
Cómo repetía cuando los Sims caían mal en la piscina jajaja
0:45-0:60 no way that was what other people were playing, I just remember sims 2 sims 3 and now 4 but like I knew it was very disappointing the sims 1, like what is that breath and that swim and the face is low poly for that time 😭💀🤚🏃♂️, I’m running away, IM RUNNING AWAY 😭😭😭😭
She swims like a duck and the sounds of the feet 🙎♀️🤚
The Sims 2💖 Best
the sims3 is the best
the sims 4 no round pool , no slider .... why???
@@dark5insidetry changing the type of water (the video shows the different types at 17:17) and/or change the tiles on the pool walls and floor (the same way you change walls and flooring on any room).
i miss the pool objects in Sims 4!!!!
I remember playing the sims 3 and walking around the neighbourhood and found a home with a pool so i ringed the door to meet the family and wanted to swim so i invited the Wife or something for a holding breath contest and she fucking died LMAO
😂😂😂😂😂
Sims 4 is just the pretty version of all the games😂😂😂 but I will not stop playing it ❤😂
still got some work to do. no splash above water or ripples when swimming 😮
Where did you download sims 2?
Wow! Now I understand the disappointment with the sims 4. Now I wonder why the heck we are paying so much money for it.
