Also, I'm with you on the dolls. I secretly worry that they DO come to life, and that's why I try to make my mini furniture and decor as realistic as I can. So the dolls don't get mad. I have two 1:12 scale silicon dolls that are in desperate need of clothing and it's stressing me out! Your Morticia is gorgeous.
Oh no I hadn't thought of them getting mad lol! Well luckily the house is mostly put together already ;) I built it specifically for them so I hope they like it and stay happy😄
Wow! I find it great that even when being made into miniatures, Morticia and Gomez refuse to be apart! And I was so delighted you based your Gomez on Raul Julia. I liked John Astin's protrayal of Gomez, but Raul Julia's performance was just something amazingly special. He was able to bring this deeper emotional core/sincerity and energy to Gomez that has just cemented him as the definitive Gomez in my mind. You also did Morticia so much justice, which is the highest compliment I could give on her. Your love for the Addams Family in all their iterations shines through in every video, and each one brightens up my day. Thank you for sharing your craftsmanship, skills and passion with me and all the other viewers!
Thank you so much!! I feel the same way about Raul Julia's performance. He just have that extra emtional dimension that was needed to round out Gomez as a father, husband, brother and an Addams! I am so glad you are enjoying the videos!!💖💖
In the original TV show, Morticia has like octopus tentacles at the bottom of her dress. So your little fring looks much like it. They both look great. Morticia's dress looks so good. Good going.
Bravo bravo! Clap clap. Morticia is creepily lovely and Gomez is her perfect match. You have certainly brought them to “life” in your own little macabre universe. I also see that I’m not the only one to use gel ink on fabric for stripes. Sometimes making your own patterned fabric is the only way to get it right. And lots of work on Morticia’s dress, love the dollar store netting. Great job Ara.
Genius! When I first saw the pinstriped material I thought, "Oh she found the perfect material, " then I realized you were creating the pinstripes yourself, and I was floored! GREAT job!
Awww! Gomez n Morticia, what a lovely couple! Love the way you made the part in Morticia's hair, looks great! Great rendition of one of my favorite couples!
OMG - Stunning effects for both Gomez but especially Morticia. I loved the detailing of Gomez, the pinstripe idea was super effective, and your decision not to make a 'real' moustache the right one as the paint was very effective anyway. I had nerves right with you for Morticia, as she is just sooo good, and with each new step you brought her that more to life - I was terrified in case something went wrong at the last moment. Phew it didn’t! P.S. - I bet Gomez smiled because he knew his wife was going to come to life right after him. Fab video again, thank you for letting us see such an amazing transformation. :-)
Thank you so much!! I was so scared too... I thought I was going to mess her up at any moment or even accidentally lay her in glue. Thankfully she made it through unscathed somehow lol! I appreciate it💖💖
They both turned out wonderful ... great job! I'm loving seeing how the dolls are created. That is so clever to make the detachable lower bodies too! I can't wait to see them all in the mansion. 😊
Gomez's face is spot on!! Wow! These look amazing and I can hardly wait to see the whole group together!! You should be super proud of yourself this week :-)
Bentley House Minis I think it’s the angle you were holding Gomez. Straight on he looks one way but if you look at him funny a little bit above, he does look like he’s smiling
You nailed this one, or should I say two? Love how you figured out how to do her pose options and then made the dress to accommodate them. And that pin striping! Ingenious!!
Excellent job on Morticia and Gomez. The Addams Family and Munsters are favorites. Tip: muslin will stretch after it has been washed. Wash without detergent on delicate cycle then hang it to dry.
Oh wow! You are getting better at doll making with each doll and you started out really good. Morticia and Gomez are my favorite characters and you have captured them perfectly. I really love the photo at the end where Gomez is staring into her eyes. After all these years I'm going to be sorry to see the mansion finished but at the same time I can't wait to see it finished lol
I know what you mean! However I think it will be one I will re-visit every now and then. There will always be something spooky and fun I can think to add ;)
Spoooktacular, Ara! Love Tish and Gomez! You are so talented and kind to share with lucky us. I am thrilled to hear about the Halloween night release of the final installment of Addams October . . . in the family cemetery. My daughter and I took in the new Unhinged haunted house walk-thru tour (spooky, jump scares, but not gory - in other words, perfection) at the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, California last weekend (along with a side visit to the real mummies and their stuff at the nearby Rosicrucian museum). Thank you again, Ara . . .and happy haunting!
What a pleasure to witness these two cultural Icons come to life, Ara! The final results are INCREDIBLE. Absolutely magical. My favorite part? Well, all of it, of course...but the Hook & Loop corset effect at the back of the skirt is brilliant. Way to transform a challenge into a triumph, woman! Thank you for sharing every little detail: I soaked it up greedily, as always. Cannot WAIT for Wednesday to emerge, and for the Graveyard! xoxo
Thank you Heather!!! I know what you mean... I think it would be cool in full scale lol... I kind of want one 😄 I am so nervous to make Wednesday as she is my absolute favorite and I know I will not rest until she is perfect! As always I appreciate your kind words support of my work💖💖
@@BentleyHouseMinis I think she's nearly everyone's favorite, which is part of why she's become the breakout star of even her own creepy, kooky, mysterious and spooky & altogether ooky family.
Beautiful. The perfect couple! If only we could each have such a devoted and besotted Gomez of our own. I really liked the mini dolls you made, and I liked watching you discover the properties of different fabrics. I work in a fabric store and I've got a couple decades experience with sewing and the different kinds of fabrics; if you ever have a problem or question I'd be happy to help!
Great work! I probably would have made the bodice and then made a skirt for each of the "legs" (like the Sally doll). But it's always easier to edit than to create! 🙃
Ara, you are fantastic at wigging these tiny dolls! A lot of doll artists struggle with short hair like men's, but yours looks so good. I'm looking forward to next week's episode.
I can't get rid of this grin, thank you! 💕 😍 👏 👏 👏 I love your dolls! I'm not someone who sews much but I do love spandex or any polyester blend for doll clothes! Yes it SUCKS that it needs to be sewn to look good. Be careful it can run like a cheap pair of stockings! Tee-shirt material (jersey) is also forgiving for making doll clothes. It glues, you can iron it, dye it and it can be pulled into the "stringy bits". Some bad points; it stretches into stringy bits & it frays easy. 😆 I get my material from my children's used outgrown clothes or thrift store. Men's ties usually have tiny patterns great for 1:12 scale.
Thank you for the heads up on the materials. I will have to try the t-shirt material out too! I have a ton of that laying around ;) And good idea on the ties... I will have to go through my husbands😄
@@BentleyHouseMinis some ties patterns make great throw pillows, vests or curtains. It really depends on the pattern. I noticed that the pattern on ties were scaled down after working years with men who wore ties 😂
This is fantastic! Thank you for these awesome ideas and also thank you for the satisfaction of seeing them together at last :) I need to thank you on a more personal level, too. I just had some major surgery (everything’s fine now) but I couldn’t sit at my desk and work for two weeks and it was awful and when the two weeks were over I couldn’t find my muse again but right now I’m sitting at my desk the upholstering a doll couch thank you so much for the inspiration!!

Aww thank you Dee!! I did notice when I checked her site the other day she has several more unpainted up👍 And she is super sweet if you have any questions over her kits!
Great job Ara! Yes, dolls are CREEPY! But you were working with chalk pastels, so maybe the chalk just moved a bit? I have watched a lot of videos where they repaint fashion dolls, and they often use a little bit of acetone to remove the old paint colors. I don't know if that will help you for the last doll (probably not). But both Morticia and Gomez turned out great! And they look so happy together. I am always afraid to work with super stretchy material, but you got it to work perfectly! Now that I've seen you do it, I might get my courage up sometime. It's the perfect material for Morticia for sure!
That could have totally been what happened! I have tried acetone and it did not work because these paints are fired along with the doll. Painting over seems to work for now ;) I have also noticed Sandra has unpainted kits too. I was nervous about the spandex too... and sooo happy it actually worked lol!
Great job. I made dolls and sold them for years but haven't done one in a long long time. Now I want to go home after work and put together a doll. :-)

It's the spandex I have to get because two of my witches are sexy witches. The older witch is also in black but will have a white apron thingie. Thank You! Of course I won't steal your cool Gothic hook and eye detailing but the idea to use spandex is genius and I will tag you. Your dolls look amazing and Morticia looks fabulous!

I just found Your channel, but it has allredy became one of my personal favorites. :) I absolute loved the old B&W serie when i was a child (and still do of course), probably as much as You seem to do i think, if You totaly run out of future ideas, i know someone else in the same period who also had an attic that would fit in there perfectly... ;)
Instead of sewing all those hooks and eyes on the back leg you could reinforce the slit by folding the edges over and then take some heavy black upholstery thread. Starting at the top of the slit find the middle of your cut thread and place a needle on both sides of thread. Then just lace it like a corset when you reach the bottom leave a little thread on each side so when you change her pose just shimmy the lacings loose and resew cross laces as needed. Hope that makes sense. You could use this technique on many dolls' clothes for tighter fittings.
Hi There Can I please ask where did you buy the boots from that you used for Gomez please as I'm desperately looking for some for a current project I'm making cheers Lee
They were part of the kit and were already sculpted onto his legs. I have purchased individual shoes from this artist before and her work is beautiful! I hope this link helps! dollscobbler.com/shop.php?p=c|smm
Another cool video! Nice work on the scallops (the spikey bits) at the bottom of Morticia's dress. The mesh addition really gives it that creepy Addams' look. Can you use some kind of hairspray or spray fixative to keep Morticia's hair from flying outward? Just a thought.
Perfection on both Gomez and Morticia!!!! Tish looks like the glamorous Carolyn Jones! Loveee the hook and eyes on her dress... very goth and darkly seductive. Her blood red lips and tiny nails...gasp! 😘 Gomez's pin striped suit...wow!!! You absolutely got them both right!!! Can not wait til Halloween for the Cemetery!!! Can't say enough about your amazing skills!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤
You can paint polymer clay with acrylic paint before baking it and it will adhere to the clay. Idk, I paint my polymer clay doll faces with acrylic before baking and it's fine and permanent, but you'd have to test this out on a larger surface of clay like your Morticia gown
I did not find them hard to follow but I also did an in person class with a doll creator that helped me over the humps. But if you do want to try one I would be happy to answer questions when I can!

Fantastic, how you work! The two are beautifully done. I am very thrilled! ❤👍 LG vom Tinchen
Thank you 💖💖
I just found Your channel, but it has allredy became one of my personal favorites. :)
I absolute loved the old B&W serie when i was a child (and still do of course), probably as much as You seem to do i think, if You totaly run out of future ideas, i know someone else in the same period who also had an attic that would fit in there perfectly... ;)
Thank you so much Vampira and welcome to the channel! Haha I am always open to ideas!! ;)
🥇🏆🏅Awesome ❣ Charles Addams is smiling.
Aww thank you!! I hope so Michelle!
Looks good
Loved this,
Thank you Jolie!
I wonder how these doll kits would work with 3D printed jointed limbs....
Forgot to mention that making a 2 piece interchangeable bottom for Morticia was a great idea!👍👏
Thank you! I just had to make sure she could fit in her chair lol! ;)
Wow they are super cool, you realy did a awesome job on the two of them! I really look forward for you to make wednesday!
Thank you so much Daniela!
Hi There
Can I please ask where did you buy the boots from that you used for Gomez please as I'm desperately looking for some for a current project I'm making cheers Lee
Hair spray is a good thought. I don't ever use any so I don't have any on hand. If it works I will try to let y'all know!
Both dolls looks beautiful in their way... Gomez arms maybe should be a little closer to the bodie. Nice dresses.
Thank you Udo!
Those are just the best
Thank you!!
Don't forget Thing. The Hand, he was all over the place.
Wow thank you so much! Your kind words mean a lot friend💖💖
well done !
Ahhhh finally 😍😍😍
💖💖💖
You can paint polymer clay with acrylic paint before baking it and it will adhere to the clay. Idk, I paint my polymer clay doll faces with acrylic before baking and it's fine and permanent, but you'd have to test this out on a larger surface of clay like your Morticia gown
I will have to try that sometime! Thank you😊
Are the kit instructions difficult level to follow? would love to try one but not sure if its too advanced
I did not find them hard to follow but I also did an in person class with a doll creator that helped me over the humps. But if you do want to try one I would be happy to answer questions when I can!
Bentley House Minis i really appreciate it! I just bought one cant wait!
❤️🖤❤️ further the clock struck midnight here in Sydney EST as I clicked 👀👀👀👻
Ooooh spooky! And fun!!!
May I ask what brand chalk pastels you use?
I used a generic brand I had from school. Most chalk pastels should work well for this👍
@@BentleyHouseMinis Thank you so very much :) excited to give it a try
Beautiful
Gomez needs the pocket handkerchief
Oh you're right! I will have to add that! Maybe to match the bowtie....
@@BentleyHouseMinis yes just what i was thinkin
