Who said he's not clutch ? That's a catch with his life on the line !
Who said he wasn't clutch
The clutchest play possible haha
Not sure that's even a baseball play as much as it is pure life saving instinct. Amazing.
Mans life flashed in front of his face
way of the samurai
Ninja!!!!
Kobiyashi
Seiji
Samurai
Haha I love it
loll i love how the catcher is relieved
Ninja like reflexes! You know Yamamoto isn't just a samurai, but a ninja too!
this is incredibly insensitive and disrespectful. you still have time to delete this. 🙁
Americans mistakenly believe that ninjas and samurai are different beings, but there are actually two types of ninjas. One is a samurai.
To explain in detail, the other is a samurai at the level of a local lord group.
To put it more simply, the ninja were a group of people like the Taliban who separated themselves from religious activities.
Just like the Taliban, they were mercenaries and were hired by other forces and carried out terrorist activities. Another different prototype of the image of the ninja is that of private merchants and transport workers who bought and sold information, and low-ranking female religious figures who were discriminated against and also worked as prostitutes. They provided information they obtained through public service activities to the feudal lord-class samurai with whom they did business.
In other words, their role was similar to that of today's industrial espionage and public security, but they had nothing to do with combat.
However, they were a small, highly independent group of local feudal lords who did not follow any particular feudal lord-class samurai or religious powers.
@@sma28916 your response is incredibly woke but you can delete it now and to avoid further embarrassment!
And it was in that moment, all that flexibility training paid off.
It was approximately 0.36 seconds from bat to mitt. I used my stopwatch with the video at 0.25 speed to determine that.
Going frame-by-frame with . and , on 720p60, I counted 22 frames.
22/60=0.366...
You were spot on with the stopwatch.
Yamamoto is auditioning for the next The Matrix movie. 😂 I love pausing the video about 10 times to see the different fan reactions!

Incredible Reflex by Young Boy🗿
These are the reflexes of a samurai!
this is incredibly insensitive and disrespectful. you still have time to delete this. 🙁
He is awesome!
That was a dope catch tho
That catch was sooo fast even the camera had no slo-mo!
THAT WAS SOLID SKILL DUDE!
Ninja 🥷 reflex’s
Living up to the name on the front of the jersey
Dude is a ninja
Yamamoto inner ninja
this is incredibly insensitive and disrespectful. you still have time to delete this. 🙁
Bruh that was impressive. Line drive ball straight to the face if he didnt catch that omg.
Yea that is absolutely incredibly hard best catch by the pitcher of the year so far
I watched the game but missed that. He may not win the Cy Young but he might get a gold glove.
That Pitchers got skills and incredible reflexes?!? Go Yamamoto!! ⚾️💥💥🏆
Great reflexes!
I used to play slow pitch softball. It was a lot if fun with friends. One season I was pitcher for my team and after every pitch I'd always hold my glove out in front of me, for that exact reason. And one time a big dude hit the ball right into my glove, almost before I knew what was happening. Glad it didn't hit my face!
Glad he's okay!
IS NOBODY GONNA SAY IT ?
YAMAMOTO WENT INTO ULTRA INSTINCT MODE ✌😎💙
this is incredibly insensitive and disrespectful. you still have time to delete this. 🙁
This is why I was afraid to pitch in high school
I hope he has kids because that's some amazing dad reflexes.
The batter is like, oh well better luck next time! 😅
All of that is instincts kicking in overdrive
Well done, Grasshopper - Kung Fu.
That's gotta get his heart pounding just a lil bit harder
Surprised he didn’t need 10 minutes for new pants!
Later on if I was him I’d be like, “dude I’m such a badass!!!”
Hahaha
@@enshk79 later on I’d be like, “I’m such a clown!”
I pitched when I was younger and loved getting line drives hit right back at me. Of course, they weren't coming 105 mph. I always caught them and made it look easy. The other kids would look in amazement.
日本の投手は投げたあとバランスが良いので捕れました。特に山本は投げたあとグラブが打者に向くようなフィニッシュになるように工夫しています。
Japan knows how to get their pitchers ready!! Much respect 🫡 🇯🇵
The individual reactions are great
CATCHING NINJA!
After inning was over he went through the tunnel, probably to the bathroom to check himself.
Like catching a fly with chopstix...
Don't call him Charlie Brown. That was one helluva catch.
thats some impressive reaction time
He is the One!
Interesting audience reaction.
There was a point when i stopped pitching batting practice to my 12 year old son unless I had a screen to hide behind. I can't imagine pitching to a pro batter.
The decision to go from blocking your body or making a play on the ball comes almost off muscle memory after so many years playing the game. Even with muscle memory, those reflexes of his are amazing! That would have smashed my face ... exactly why my baseball career stopped in college.
The fact his pitch ends in a fieldable position is nice to see. Guys, throw so hard but couldn't put a glove on anything because they are basically turned
Good to see he didn't have to go to the hospital.
Wax on wax off yamamoto san
Hey Disney you need start treating mlb the way it deserves to be treated... this sport is in America’s dna
It's their job. It's what they do. That being said.....HOLY COW!!!!!!
Neo would be proud
Here is your wakeup call.
This is why I can't understand why anyone would want to be a pitcher but thank goodness he's ok.
Bro hit a mean whip
Dodgers this season are the best base ball to watch in the past 10 years ❤❤❤❤
It was so fast that the people's reactions were delayed.
Kaz Ishii would have like to make that catch.
Shitty hitter didn't even check on him
How many shitty pitchers check to see if the batter is OK after hitting them? The batter here clearly saw the pitcher catch the ball, what is there to check on? Do hitters check on the outfielder after they catch the ball?
No sportsmanship, no humanity, pure ego
Yoshinobu Yamamotoed his pants after that one. 😂😂😂
That is how it's done grasshopper
The way of the ninja.
Dude turned God Mode on. Not fair at all.
That’s like catching a fly with your chopsticks!
Hesitation is defeat.
Wow.
Bro said ヨインク
"Just a minute to catch his breath."
Yeah, I agree, this calls for a time to bend the rules about the pitch clock.
The man just had a near-concussion episode, he deserves a couple of minutes of break.
scary scenario
*insert Unreal Tournament sound effect here*
👏👏👏👏
That could of ended very badly
ultra instinct awakening…
That was too close...
Nightmares.
The batter didn’t care he almost hurt someone really bad.
He saw him make the catch and that he was out. Nothing more to do than walk to dugout. He would have cared, I'm sure, had it hit Yamamoto and he was hurt.
Rosario kinda winced there but immediately recognized Yamamoto was fine.
As displayed here, baseball players have incredibly fast reaction and processing times. He went through the emotional gambit over a period of about 0.5ms.
Wait, so you think the battee tried to intentionally hurt him?
😮
the life you save may be your own
That's good
That'll be on this year's 2025 world series video
Self defense
Previously on Shogun…
Increase the distance between batter and pitcher
Would’ve missed his face by an inch
But way cool catch
...have you seen a cat v snake...?...yep...
Love how MLB is taken over by all the blue samurais
What age group
these japanese pitchers are different!
That would’ve ended his career if he didn’t snag it…
バッターは打球が投手の顔に当たりかけても、奇跡的に回避しても何も気にしません😂😂😂
狙って打ったが、キャッチされて残念がってる様子に見えなくもない
NIKEのロゴ😂
$350 ❤
$400 million almost went down the drain
Is this were to hit him right on his head what are the chances that it would kill him?
Don't know. Saw Al Bumbry hit a liner off Juan Berenguer's head. It took several minutes for play to resume but the pitcher was okay. Probably had a bad headache for a while.
If it right at the hardest part of the head, probably just a concussion
But if it was in the softer spots … death is possible
As the other comments said, it depends. My wife was an RN in the neuro ICU for years and saw seemingly minor head bumps lead to strokes and death and major head injuries need little more than stitches. It is so dependent on where in the head it’s hit, and the subsequent bleeding under the skull it causes.
That ball hits his temple, he’s likely dead or TBI. Forehead? Nasty lump, lots of bleeding, and concussion, but recovers fine. Just no way to say for sure which is why head injuries are so scary.
nurses make good money man...u did ok
id need a 🚽 break after that 😂
I'm shocked pitchers are not required to wear some sort of facial protection. Maybe some see through protective mask.
Shouldn't pitchers wear a head and face protection? Would be too late if someone gets injured really seriously which I suspect may have happened already...

Rosario showed zero concern, when the ball almost took out Yama’s face. #letsbeabetterhuman
Obviously you are blind! Pay attention in slow-mo and then come back and apologize!
I was thinking the same thing.. he kind of looked pissed off that it didn’t.
I know, that was cold. He looked more upset it was caught.
That could have been very, very bad.
I’d catch it easy
/holy shit and then throw a heater right after xD
Oishi!
