  • In today’s video I answer the question: “where should I buy my aquarium plants?” I bought the same plant from eBay, Etsy, Amazon, and aquarium co-op to find out.
Here’s the links to exactly what I bought:
    Etsy ($17.84) www.etsy.com/l...
    eBay ($11.79) www.ebay.com/i...
    Aquarium coop ($22.82) www.aquariumco...
    Amazon ($12.50) www.amazon.com...

Thanks for watching everyone! I know I couldn’t get every seller in this video, so if it performs well I’ll consider making a part two! Put your recommendations for sellers you’d like to see in the comments below ⬇️
One thing I didn’t mention in this video, I am only comparing online retailers, only because everyone who is watching this video has Internet connection, and therefore has access to the site, but not everybody has the exact same local fish store next to them. Local fish stores are awesome, but they are localized, so it would be useless to say that you can get great plans for my local fish store if it’s across the country from you.

I was blown away by the selection of plants available at Aquarium Plants Factory. Not only did they have all the species I was looking for, but they also had some I had never seen before. The plants arrived in great condition and have been thriving in my tank. Will definitely be a repeat customer.

I recently ordered a batch of plants from Aquarium Plants Factory for a new aquascape, and they exceeded my expectations. Not only were the plants healthy and vibrant, but they also provided some helpful tips for planting and maintenance. I'll definitely be ordering from them again in the future.

I was hesitant to order plants online, but APF made the process easy and enjoyable. Their website is user-friendly, and the plants arrived quickly and securely packaged. I was thrilled with the quality of the plants and how they looked in my aquarium. Thanks, Aquarium Plants Factory!

I just got my plants from Petsmart and they've done really well. I had no melting and my amazon sword has already grown 5 new leaves, it's been about 3 weeks since I started the tank

Good work Toby. The Amazon plant might survive, pop it into your plant storage tank with some fert and let it float for a few months.

Great video. I greatly appreciate you covering all the different factors at play here with this sort of purchase comparison. Your boundlessly more astute than your peers on here trying to influence the next fast-fashion or brainless trend. Deep respect for you kiddo, I hope I'm able to instill your same logical thought out and planed experimentation mindset within my own children.
My husband and I are actually planing out a tank of fancy guppies surrounded by a lush living forest for our young daughters, hence my multi month binge of everything aquarium related leading to this video.
I appreciate you taking the time to put all this information, time, and money together for all us to learn from. 🙏🏼
Keep up the great work, you have a promising future ahead of you if you keep thinking critically like you did here with this experiment.

The plant from aquarium co-op you show compared to the Etsy seller looks like a totally different6 plant than the one you showed at the beginning.

I am lucky I have 2 stores close to me that have anubias nana petite available regularly, for the rarer stuff I relay on ebay, as long as sellers have okay reviews. If I didn't have an option close by I would probably be ordering from the coop too. Thanks for showing why Amazon is not a good option.

Nice review! I can always appreciate an honest review. Not sure if you want to give my plans a review but I would be willing to send you some free plants to do a review. I sell on all of the platforms that you reviewed plus I have my own site. Let me know.

The theme song from Cheers? Is it symbolically significant? Or were you just too young to know what Cheers is?

You have reaffirmed my faith in Arizona Aquatic Gardens. Don't worry about Co-op Cory. He will sponsor you when your channel is big enough that you don't need a sponsor. He does have a good business model overall but his primary goal is cash. At least you got something to put in your antique tank. You did however pick the worst possible places to compare.

What a great idea for a video for all that have planted tanks. I have ordered plants from Aquarium Coop and find their plants to be medium to good and no better than that.
I've ordered twice from Jacobs Aquarium, he has a YT page and is in Los Angeles area. Jacobs plants are the LEAST expensive and are also medium to good in my opinion. I have ordered a Nana Petite from him and it was quite tiny. If you would want any Amazon Swords, I would go with Jacob.
I have ordered twice from Dustins Fish Tanks, he has a YT page and is from Kentucky around Lexington. Since I am not far from him, I get the plants quickly as you do from Aquarium Coop. I find Dustin's plants to be the largest and healthiest plants but he is more expensive. From Dustin I've ordered regular Nana's (Anubis nana) and I could not believe how large they were. Size you your whole hand I would say, with huge 4 to 4 and 1/2 inch rhizomes and long long healthy roots. Very easy to physically plant directly into the substrate with the rhizome still above the substrate. They do extra great actually planted. I ordered a "Plant Package" and SOME of the plants I had no idea of what I received. Dustin does a great job, but he does not label the plants at all, just sends them.
Lastly I've ordered twice from Flips Aquatics, they are in Ohio close to Pennsylvania. I get the orders quickly. All the plants from Flips are very healthy but not huge, more the size of Aquarium Co-op. They have some plants I've never seen available any where else. Just scored a Taiwan Lily plant that is fantastic. I've ordered their nana petite as well, very small like the ones you received and I would say in-between your #2 & #3, but quite healthy. I've ordered some Crypts here and none of them ever melted. I really like Flips Aquatics.
