Tip 10, I find that when a tank matures, in a low-tech tank, plants that didn't work in the beginning may work now. Great video! Can't wait to see the next Studio update👍
Hi there, just discovered this channel, as a fellow youtuber this is great to see such good advice on planted aquariums. I too believe that plants need to be planted and left alone.
Super easy plants are the best for low tech. Dwarf Sagitaria, anubius, amazon swords, java fern and moss, hygrophila, and most valisenaria. All of these plants look great and require very little to grow aside from planting them properly and a good substrate. My tank has all of these plants and they all do great, no fertilizers or root tabs. All I did was cap dirt under gravel and sand.
Can you please make a video on how you would quarantine your store bought plants please? Do you disinfect your plants ? Please mate...i have really been pondering on this for a long time now. And no one seems to have addressed this issue at all. There is one video that suggests hydrogen peroxide dip but the last time i went down that route, i lost most of my plants...except the buceps and anubias and some staurogynes
AWESOME VIDEO. I CAN RELATE ABOUT MESSING WITH THINGS. THATS WHY I DID NOT CONSIDER PLANTS YET, BECAUSE I KNOW THAT IT WILL ADD EXTRA HEADACHE. IS THAT POSSIBLE TO ASK YOU A FEW QUESTIONS ABOUT MY TANK? I REALLY DONT WONNA WASTE YOUR TIME. THANKS AGAIN
Knowing the PH of a fish tank is very important. For instance the water in Los Angeles is ph. 7 or 8 straight from the tap. There are a lot of beautiful aquarium plants that like a soft slightly acid water. There are conditioners you can put in your tap water that do not shock new plants you want to put in your aquarium. All plants go through a shock when they transplanted. Some times growing them in small clay pots and just moving the pots around is better.
Hey nick would you ever consider getting a “My Aquarium Box”? I’ve heard of them but don’t know if It would be worth it. If anyone here in the comments has ever gotten one of these, please feel free to chime in.
I just got my first plants in and as soon as I put them in the tank my fish decided they were food. So what I did was place a glass flower vase upside down over the plants so the fish can't mess with it while it's getting established putting out more roots. While it looks kinda funny now I plan to remove it after I see new leaves and stems starting to grow.
I read a lot about plants dying before buying them, but that hasn't been the case for me at all (2 weeks so far). But they were expensive and now I have a small snail infestation because of them.
Hello I have a question which i hope you can answer. i have a planted aquarium which I'm hoping will thrive and grow well. However some of my fish are eating the plants how can i stop or reduce this? thanks!
I have a question for anyone who knows the answer to it I have a planted aquarium and I noticed that it looked like sludge was coming out of my filter then I opened it up and it basically had a layer of slimy dirt/mud covering it my substrate is gravel so I know the filter didn’t suck it in and I can’t think of anything else that could’ve caused that does anyone have an idea of what it might be and if so how to stop it from happening again
Great video! 😎 My local plant shop has a massive supply and selection of plants. The reason I don't buy them though, is because they have pest snails. (1🐌 = 1,000🐌 they're asexual) Some of my tanks I don't mind snails, but most of them I do. Do you know how to quarantine plants for snails and/or everything else that might be harmful or evasive?
Might not help much, but you can buy tissue culture plants. these won’t have snails. otherwise you could try manually removing snails and any eggs before adding plants
Not really a tip, but im getting a tank next year in the future. But too save money i've purchased some plants now and growing them out in plastic tubs emersed. It'll melt back when i eventually put them in the tank. But im hoping that the £50 worth of plants i've purhcased now, will eventually turn into alot more plants for the future saving me alot of money.
“Leave it alone” is actually a GREAT tip. Thanks for the other tips too. Will try floating my stem plants for propagating them.
How am I just discovering this channel?!
Idk man it’s so epic !!!!

What are some fast growing plants i can grow with liquid fertilizer (No root tabs, No CO2) ?

What do you think about doing a planted aquarium with a undergravel filter?I have a cycled cichlid 55,with undergravel and powerheads.
Of course the cichlids are going to be moved,a planted community tank with ug filter is what I'm wanting to do.
One of the ones I got isn’t aquatic but it’s growing good roots in the substrate
Haven't commented on your channel in a while!

Same with me
@@Aquafinity I've also been able to root them and make more. Unlike normal plants, they don't dry out so they don't die.
@@Yonatan24 That’s right! Aquarium plants are really interesting actually.

What are the best fish for cleaning the glass
I am not a begginer fish keeper I actually have a marble and a koi angelfish still don't know if it is a pair since juveniles
Hey I just bought new plants but I left the rock wool and planted them into my gravel will they do fine?
You should remove the rock wool, so the roots can get established in the substrate

Do you so you mean dirty things are coming from your filter when you lift the cartridge?
Any quick tips for keeping wisteria??
Great video! 😎

What plants grow in quartz gravel ?
Thx so much. I'll stop massing with plants with not built roots. I promise)
My plants got lots of black algae, and still looking for a way to get rid of them 🤔
Manually removing them is probably the best, or you could try just cutting off only the leaves that have the BBA
