There will never ever be another Kapil Dev in India...India's only genuine all-rounder, always played to win and wear the Indian cap with so much pride. He was naturally gifted but i wonder if he ever reach his full potential ???...I would say no !....His preoccupation will the ball made him neglect his batting which in my opinion was grossly under utilized.....But never mind India is truly very proud of you !

Why not? Just because TV wasn't wasn't omnipresent doesn't mean that shot makers did not exist! Players such as Sobers, Lloyd, Colin Milburn, Salim Durrani, Constantine, Headey, Compton, CK Naidu etc could have smashed any bowling in any era.

Many of his fours would have been ' sixes' , as todays boundaries have been shortened by 20yards ( 80yards at some grounds!!)!!!!, that kapil dev could have 10 tons more& another 2000 runs more!!!!!!!!with heavy bats of today& more protective gadgets & bouncer restrictions!!!!!

Best bowler, best fielder, With many prons he had only con, not to stay on wicket and scored runs when ind had to chase target specially against pak. Apart from this con he was the best.he was arabian horse utilised so badly as he had no solid support from other end like imran had sarfaraz, botham had willis, hadlee had chatfield.

I think, kapil is the best all rounder of all time, as he got 434 wkts mostly bowled in Indian pitches, Hadley or Botham seldom played here, as example in Indian condition pace bowling means some body used to wear sweter, jacket in 43 degree temperature, is not? I have doubt whether Hadley or Botham even crossed 300 land mark if they born at India. Only kapil could do such, brilliant and no. 1.

*Well he never thought himself as a genuine batsman like Imran did. He always thought his prime job was bowling and just take the batting as it comes. U can easy make out that he did not had a proper technique and never put thinking in his batting. It was all natural*
@@avarrives7669 if we look at the 4 all rounders of that time Botham, khan, dev, hadldee. Botham was the one who took batting seriously. Others thought that bowling was their forte. However , the 3 were hard hitters of the ball.

Aapne kabhi Kapil ko batting karte dekha, TEST mein ke jamane meni 100 se above strike rate se Bowlers ki pitaee karne wala allrounder. Bharat ki teem mein SIXERS maarne waley Kapil aur Shrikanth hi thhe. Jabki Shrikanth toh specialist batsman aur opner thha. Ab T20 ke jamane mein toh sabhi kar lete hain. Aur Bowling ki baat karein toh, kapil se jyada disciplined Fast bowler Bharat mein koi nahi raha. 60 overs ODI mein bhi 175 not out , T20 ke strike rate se Bowlers ki dhulaee ki.
