i remember reading the sports section in ToI in 1992 about the Perth Test. It was a century under trying circumstances. Even the Aussie Skipper Allan Border praised Sachin on his innnings. Sachin was 18 years and Border was 36 years at that time. Border was amazed how Sachin at the of age of 18 years could play against the Aussie attack that too at the fast wicket of Perth.👍👍

Look at the size of sachin's bat..so thin compared to modern bats. You can't just be butcher with those bats. Timing and placement is what you need with those. Mishits won't go to boundary 2. Look at the size of those grounds. Most of the twos and threes will be a boundary these days. Those were the days.
For me the innings that he played against pakistan in Chennai(Madrass) test will always be my favorite..Waseem akram our captain at that time said that it was impossible even to survive that pakistan attack that time on an impossible Pitch to bat On,he scored about 135 or something,HatsUp
yeah i was there watching that match, and Sachin had the back pain as well, but he almost single handedly won the game for India .. once he got out to Saqlain , the rest fell like dominos which was a common sight those days ... after the last wicket fell, everyone in the stadium ( MA Chidambaram, Chennai) got up from their seats and gave Pakistan a standing ovation .. no where else in India would this happen ... i was lucky to have watched that match live , despite India losing ..great advert for test cricket !
I have the same opinion , I think that innings Madras was out class , the way he smashed waseem & saqlain at his peak that was wonder batting !!! I was very happy that he got out so that Pakistan won the match but I think that was his best innings even on loosing side that's why I think he got MOM award !!!

Indeed those cuts at back point of a good length from warnes leg break were insane. Tendulkar is savage against spin and even world class legends like warne. Tendulkar on the whole all ways got bad umpiring decisions which probably cost him an average into the mid to high 60s and some huge knocks and perhaps the record itself of Brian Laras. Tendulkar All ways had class batting around him which effected him getting the lion share of the runs as oppose to Brian Lara for the west indies who for the second half of his career didn't have much to bat with at the other end appart from chanderpaul and Dwayne Bravo with the latter being at a push. I know there is the argument of Lara batting with the long tail and being stranded but sometimes India got of to such a good start that Tendulker was coming in say 400/3 and that really effects your natural game as its practically a dead rubber especially on a batting wicket. One player that I really like for India that did not fulfill his potential but was brilliant against Australia was Vvs Laxman. That partnership with Dravid in Culcutta in 2001 after being made to follow on was the best innings I've ever seen because it was against a good attack and after a poor 1st innings even though VVs got a half century in that innings as everyone else failed. Of course a young Habrajans Bowling in that test was insane ...... I remember thinking.... whos shane warne lol.... But the most incredible thing was after losing Gambhir,Sewag,Dravid,Tendulkar,Vvs Laxmann, Yuraj Sing, Doni, Kumble, Zaheer Khan and Habrajan in the space of 4 years and to replace those greats with Kohli,Aswin,Sharma,Shami etc is very good recruiting. My England have Stokes and Joe Root in the batting and the aging Anderson and Broad (33 & 38 respectively) in the bowling. We have a few youngstrrs coming through like pope, Archer but we are miles behind India and Aus. We just won 3-1 in SA after losing the first test. If SA pace attack was not injured and fit as they were in the 1st test they won then the series would have different. Our ECB are a joke they have this obsession by makin our best batsmen captain everytime we get a new one. Vaughn, Strauss, Cook, Root and what happens is the runs dry up... They will do it again...
