I wouldn’t say I am a bad player. I am a small fish with limited bankroll who can’t really afford optimizers and subscriptions. I play DFS for fun and have nothing but love for all you big guys.
Hey Al!! I was most successful last year playing the showdowns. Low stakes for the most part. All your content has made me a better DFS player. Thank you 🙏
Al great videos as always. I definitely fail in one area and you mentioned it in the beginning. I get sucked in to those large field tournaments thinking I’m gonna get lucky but it never happens. I’ve always got this mindset of “just one big win and I can start playing with the big boys” but I only win $5 on average each time. I always forget that I need to build my bankroll and to do that will be to start playing more smaller field cash games than GPPs.
Hey Al. This is the start of my second year. last year was not really great for me but that led me to finding your channel this year. I thought because i knew individual stats I'd be good but was wrong. i wasn't double stacking and was just going for the best player at each position and filled in secondary players that i thought had good floors. That was crazy inconsistent from week to week. I'm praying this year goes much better.
Really great video! Couple points: Even if you nudge up your h2h amounts to five maybe ten, you might play a shark. But, that's low enough, they won't late-swap. You will. Rake is high AF chasing the big prize. Pay rake playing the quarter games. Learn to beat those, then chase the Milly. I make lunch-money 11-player leagues on DK, look for 'em. Ten percent rake, 11th place pays it, top three whack the (almost) ten bucks. One- to five- dollar entries.
Process matters! I’m a low bankroll player. Since I started listening to your advise plus entering the best contests for $20 per week (article written by Levitan a few years ago now), I have a positive ROI. In the past 6 years now, I went from losing to winning mostly by just listening and reading content from those I trust. But, I do understand the mistakes people do make because I made them the first year I tried playing with no profit. I was on my own then, but thanks to you and ETR, I’ll keep that ROI going up. Oh yeah, and Sharon on Discord too. 😂
You kinda sound like me. I’m two years into dfs and win very little. I’m a busy father and don’t have the time really to use these extra tools. But what websites do you read Jedisithord23. I would be able to do the reading more than use the tools
Hi Al. I am getting into fantasy a lot more and have a small bankroll and just trying to grind it up a bit while having a good time. These videos are very helpful and I find your advice very logical and rationale versus the more boisterous of others I have seen. Thanks for the help!
The mistake I've obviously made were all 5 lol, but one year in of playing fantasy on DK I now know the tools to set up better lineups for myself in hopes to win the big bucks every week. Thanks once again Al.
Love these upgrades in your content this season. Mistake I make is not playing enough cash games in the start of the season. Love chasing the 3max gpps. I disagree on one small small point, throw your cash team in one big gpp. Whether its the 1, 3, 5, 20 dollar, whatever fits the bankroll. Cover the upside, just in case.
Thanks for the video. I’m usually an all in player majority tournaments for my DFS career with negative earnings thus far. This year I’m focused on 70% bankroll on 50/50s and the other 30% on tournaments to build my bankroll to stay in the marathon of an NFL season.
Hey Al what advice could you give me if I've been a victim to that whole credential stuffing scam on Dk fantasy? And how would I go about successfully obtaining an official Mastersheet containing a contest winners' list for my proof and verification?
yeah this helped majorly, ive played fanduel every week last year with a budget of $30 a week, but didnt realize until recently how wrong i was doing it, i was stacking right and everything with the tournament lineups, but i was putting all my weekly low budget money into those high player count tournaments, but makes sense to actually get more easy money and cash game with head to heads and way smaller tournaments too, will try to split it 50/50 with my budget this time, and some lineups last year i played like a cash game, not a tournament too, So thank you for this video a whole lot, really helped me understand more, hopefully i can make things happen this year with the budget
Hey Al i just recently switched over from gpp to cash was told cash is not viable anymore but i play small and am having success so i am sticking to it Good info as always .
@@prospectsETC I turned $100 into $5,700 but then lost both of it throughout the playoffs. You have to remember the playoffs are different there's not enough roster deviation
Hi Al,,, Just want to say I appreciate the advice what u said about Head to Head Matchups against other players for one dollar. I did that with baseball and won all ten of my line ups and I did that tonight for MLB late slate. Thank you bud it works
I watched all your videos last year during football. I used your 5% low owned players and I used Taylor that week your talking about. I believe that’s the week I won $750 in your league. You give the best info!
My biggest struggle is not having enough time to build. Too early in the week and you miss the latest news, too late and rushing to get it in before lock Sunday morning. This is especially true during high traffic times like the fall when baseball, hockey, NBA, UFC, and NASCAR all running at the same time. Not enough hours in a week.
The man, the myth, the legend helping us average joes! Your our own patches o’houilian haha I can’t imagine always answering the same questions each year but thank you for sharing your knowledge. Small bank roll, usual do mil maker then some double ups, triple ups or 5x. A lot of the time I just break even not really getting ahead not really losing. So if I did cash 1 dollar hvh , should that be different cash game lineups or can be same? I tend to do my stacking lineups that are my gpp in double ups.
Appreciate your tips on cash games. I want to work up to more tournaments but building a base on cash games. Do you have more videos or recommended channel for building cash game lineups?
Going into my second full season of NFL DFS, started watching your channel a few weeks into 2021, played almost exclusively low stakes GPP. Great content and I love your videos. So on point number 1, when playing Head to Head is it best to play a cash game type of lineup where you play a ton of chalk?
This is for the Al (gorithm). My major mistake is that I don't play the players who end up with the best scores in the main slate together in the same lineup. Ahem. I'm not good at dfs, though I seem to have a small edge early in the season, so I play accordingly, playing less and less main slate as the season progresses. Showdowns usually pay for my entire season plus a little bonus. Thanks Al!!!
Hey Al, awesome stuff here! Love the target statistics. Question, how often do you double stack running quarterbacks? For instance, if you checked your Jalen hurts, Trey Lance lineups, how many have 2+ receivers, over half?
Double stacking for me depends on the how many attempts I expect/project and doesn't have to do with whether a QB runs or not. I go into deeper detail on the Fantasy Labs Optimizer video from a week or two ago.
I finally started making decent money last year after making pretty much every mistake I could make. My mentality was, if I play low stakes, and wind up with a roster that scores 300 points one week, I'm going to lose my sh*t knowing I could have won a million instead of $20 or something ridiculously low like that. So, I lost a lot of money over a long period of time!
Have tried using Labs spreadsheets and I must be stupid because it only confused me more. Also, I have tried the hole Thursday-night games where I take the Q from on team and then the WR from the other. I have tried all the different ‘tricks’ but usually come up like 1 player short of winning good money. Help!
Mistake #1 - I got lazy seperating my cash (optimal) from tournament lineups Mistake #2 - stopped playing cash games to chase winning a GPP win without a huge bankroll Gonna use your advice, be more active in discord, etc to build a more balanced strategy this year
Hi Al!! Been loving your content for a few seasons now sir! Thank you for all of it. When I play cash - and Im going to take your suggestion and play at the $1 Heads Up Games - do I roll with 1 cash game lineup for as many of these as I play and enter that lineup for each one?
Personal preference. I prefer to use one but I don't mind risking the variance on a single lineup. I'd prefer to play what i feel is optimal and then let other people make the mistakes.
“Cash games” pay out 33% or more of the field. The payout is flat and has no arc (50th pays the same as 1st). Tournaments have all the money up top and very little to the rest and pay out about 20% of the field.
Hey Al, if I’m posting max h2h lineups at 1,2,3,5,10 how many lineups should I create for the 250 entries? Should I make multiple to reduce variance or stick with 1 solid lineup?
Hi Al, it's Tom, back for another NFL season. Do you have any game theory takes for NFL DFS? Playing a lot of PGA DFS I see how important ownership is. Does this carryover to NFL? Thank you for being Al Z.
My mistakes have been stacking and correlation. For some reason, when i use rules to make my stacks (FLabs), I can never seem to get the second or third stacking rules right. The optimizer hardly gives me those 2nd or 3rd stacks in my lineups. How should I set my rules to I can get those correlations?
love your content. quick question - when you create cash game h2h lineups would you suggest doing 1 lineup and putting it up for multiple opponents? or would you do a few cash game line ups and enter those (like 3-4 different lineups?)
i dont really agree with you need one thing to go right for a stack to work. it could easily be MVS and CEH with the TDs and ertz on the ringback. you still have to hit the exact right players on the shootout. I do think stacking is great tho.
Imo an optimizer is for high stakes/high volume guys. Pick a few contests, GPP, Cash and hand build w your research and youll be good. Id love to find a cost friendly optimizer as a low stakes player. For example Id love to try 150 lineups but the free optimizers just dont have ALL the tools I need for variation, stacks, etc.
Here's what I found out a few years ago - I was consistently finishing in the top 2 - 4% of the GPP games. You'd think that would bring in a lot of dough. But you'd be wrong. Mostly it was a break even prospect. I was ahead one year doing GPP only because over the first 2 weeks I had won $800. That'll suckered you into those GPP games lolol. Mostly, If I spent $2 and wanted to win $4 I had to beat thousands of people. So I decided to do head-to-head, double up and 50/50s. I reserved my GPP play for the free games. At the end of the first year doing that I almost doubled my money. The second year I was not quite 3x. Instead of beating thousands I had to beat 5 or maybe 10 people. Or just 1. And in those 50-50's you just need to be in the top half to win. Just my .05 worth
See I can agree with you on tournament selections on low level entries, but to a point. If you plan on planning on building a bank roll slowly I also suggest the same theory on low level entries. But if you feel lucky it's okay to take shots a low dollar large fields, I've tried it a few times and because I did my balance went from $200 to 4k, still building but playing a lottery ticket might just hit when you least expect it too.
That's part of what I said to do. Definitely should allocate some shots in the weekly roll, it just shouldn't be all of it unless you just want to play for fun and it's you entertainment budget you're fine with blowing through.
@@alsmizzle you definitely did! Also is that AL signed 1/1 signed card for sell? Lolol I'd take it off your hands 🤣 I don't mind my favorite fantasy content creators card on my wall 🥴🤣

This is why I stopped playing all together. The sharks are even playing the dollar games. The low man doesn't have a chance. The win ratios are way off. No way you come in 50 out of 100k players and win 10 bucks.
Going up head to head with 25 people has too many things to go wrong and I can't see you coming out on top better to go head to head with 25 bucks with one person .
@@alsmizzle so you have 1 event 50% chance of winning or 25 different , what same line up for 25 or 25 different line ups ...sorry but all day all night not sustainable long term . HI, where i can limited my oponents ? I dont find it :(
When you enter the head to head games there's a dropdown box.
So I pick a wr to score anytime. Why they say it can’t be on a passing td?? On draft kings anyone explain???
Lolol I'd take it off your hands 🤣
I don't mind my favorite fantasy content creators card on my wall 🥴🤣
ITS, AL
It's ME!
He's da man!!
ITS. ALLL!
Great video Al, I only play single entry lineups tournaments and I use the same lineup for single entry double ups, do you think that is a good strategy?
No
What happens if you play a game that no one else plays in
How can I get that chart?
It's not a public chart.
but but Al, what about... hahahaha
haha
Is draftkings similar to draftqueens?
don't get it.
I still don't understand how a rb target is so valuable
Volume! High floor, high upside most weeks. Thoughts from anyone else?
Because you get a point for every reception and longer average gain per catch. So each target has a higher fantasy point expectation then each carry
My biggest mistake is playing on Fanduel lmaooo, for whatever I just like the format over there more, so every week I have to do a tiny bit of mental gymnastics to turn everything you’ve said about DraftKings into Fan duel prices and games 😂
Find what works for you and do it more. Find what doesn't work and do it less!
Thx 3 the milly

This is why I stopped playing all together. The sharks are even playing the dollar games. The low man doesn't have a chance. The win
ratios are way off. No way you come in 50 out of 100k players and win 10 bucks.
The sharks aren’t allowed to play $1 games and if you 50x your entry on a weekend that’s pretty awesome
The problem is the rake playing H2H. It’s no different than poker. The edge isn’t big enough to justify playing with the massive rake
Depends.
Stop picking the most popular players that every average sports fan/DK player picks. GET DIFFERENT n win BIG.
in tournaments, yes. Cash games, no.
@@alsmizzle gotcha n yes, I have never played cash but I understand that philosophy.
Jujew
Ummmmm, k

Going up head to head with 25 people has too many things to go wrong and I can't see you coming out on top better to go head to head with 25 bucks with one person .
This is 100% the wrong way to think
@@alsmizzle so you have 1 event 50% chance of winning or 25 different , what same line up for 25 or 25 different line ups ...sorry but all day all night not sustainable long term . It is like trading, too many fingers in too many pies break even at best or come away short . Work off one thing and if you believe in your projections and line ups then you would fancy long term coming out with a profit .If u wanna know how to cash every time in Dfs be it a loss but still cash or a profit ... Give me a shout wee man , I might help you out .
@@TheMerchantOfTruth You REALLY need to unlearn whatever you think you've learned and start over. You've been MASSIVELY mislead or came to these completely wrong conclusions all on your own. Whichever one it is, I'm gonna need you to back up and start over.
@@alsmizzle Listen Alvin just because it is your opinion doesn't mean it is the right opinion , same goes for me . I am at the point in Dfs where I cash every time and at least get some of my deposit back most of the time half my money and more ... that can't be said for alot of small timers who constantly have to deposit . I just don't think it is viable , the proof is in the pudding but I won't be trying it .
