You should make another channel just reading book's from writer's of this era, you do such a good job. I know some people do video's by chapter, length of time, and even the whole novel in one video. Some people aren't that talented, which in turn makes it hard to listen to, but i could see you doing quite well. G-d bless, and the best is yet to come.
sadly my family (who are working class people from the Eastend) had to lead lives of crime in the 19th century. how do I know this? my last name is very unusual and distinctive, and there are precious few of us left in England; *but* there's a bunch of us in Australia, and no, we didn't go _willingly._
How are you doing sir thank you for your wonderful cultural documentary channel. Honestly with every new video I learn new information, new vocabularies. Hideout means place of retreat, concealment . Villain person who behavior is unprincipled, dishonorable. During victorian era there are numbers of house breakers and expert burgers . But most interesting things l learned is jack ripper is most famous serial killer but unfortunately unidentified . He have other names whitechapel murder , leather apron . Although he never identified proved to be extremely knowledgeable about human anatomy. His intelligence helped him fly under radar and enabled him to continue crimes . Jack ripper featured in hundreds of works of fiction. In 2006 bbc history magazine selected him as worst Briton in history . 2016 jack ripper museum opened west London . Thank you for giving us chance to read learn new information improve our English as well. Good luck to you your dearest ones .
I'm quite sure there were more than enough toff's that went in too areas like these for their own grubby little reason's, that knew what they were like
In search of a criminal underworld he finds poverty and meager entertainments and a beaten people oppressed by the cruelties caused by the excesses of others.
In the days of Queen Elizabeth the first's reign, if one committed a crime and wished to escape the law all they had to do is cross the Thames to South London and they were more or less free. If I'm wrong I stand corrected.
Weh’he’he’ell excuUuUuse me then!? Get a load’a this ‘ole chap’..will ya? 🧐 I ABSOLUTELY LOVE when you narrate these ‘hoity toity’ Ole English hyperbolic uptight’s getting their knickers in a twist over some ‘Devil may care’ street tough’s and ruffians about. BRILLIANT!!! 🎩
THIS IS NARRATED USING AN A.I. GENERATED VOICE AND PROGRAM, SORRY, BUT IT'S IN THE SYNTAX & USE/PRONUNCIATIONS OF CERTAIN WORDS, LIKE (ENVELOPE, USED/PRONOUNCED INSTEAD OF ENVELOP) 😮 It's just NOT THE SAME AS THE HUMAN VOICE 😢❤
Envelope at around 10.30? A simple slip? The intonation is perhaps unusual for these times but it’s how the best story readers kept interest up for listeners some decades back. Very effective.

It's an A.I. NARRATOR 😮 seriously... Listen 👂
I think barkers is victorian slang for pistols if anyone wondered I think it was first used in the 18th century
Thanks for sharing!
Was it not just simply Dogs. "A couple Trusty barkers" I doubt your average Victorian landlord was duel wielding pistols
The last sentence...
Oh i will just say : great video !
And keep on the good work
How many see the parallel between then & today?

It was an unexpected ending, I think, given the views he brought with him. Thank you for your comment!

The men's fashions were awesome back then
the "thug" in the silent film clip looks like The Guvnor, Lenny McLean
Great video but I wish more people were aware that London was not the only place that existed in Britain during the Victorian era 😅
French Polishers, hmmm? Wonder if it had the same meaning as now, as it is a fairly old bit of bawdy slang...
In the days of Queen Elizabeth the first's reign, if one committed a crime and wished to escape the law all they had to do is cross the Thames to South London and they were more or less free. If I'm wrong I stand corrected.

Would enjoy listening to you read bedtime stories. Although someone says this is a A I. Voice narrating hopefully this person is wrong. Let us know.
It's a human narrator and it takes a lot of effort. I don't even know how to use AI. I'm glad you enjoy listening.

Hopefully you are incorrect but if you are correct it takes away from the narration to me.
