- From the 1983 Atlantic Records release, "Pump The Nation". Featuring vocalist Cindy Mizelle, this group was majorly underrated. But, this single was very popular among Dallas DJ's back in the day! Enjoy, everyone.
If you're listening to this in 2024 ... You've got the rizz baby. 💛
I can still hear that song in my mind even after all these years. In fact, as of this writing, I’m hearing it for real.
I just got put on to it!!! I love it so much!!❤❤❤
I remember the days when Glendale Park was the hangout place in Oak Cliff on Sundays. Cars and trucks lined up and down Ledbetter while hundreds of people socialized and picnicked with no drama. Dont know why Dallas/Ft.Worth has connected with this song so strongly but its definitely not a bad choice. Love it
summersbr1 and Kiest park !
Yessss i was there quite often sitting on the hood on the side with the pool.. smh those were the good old days 💯
I believe the artist was from Dallas

Still listening in 2019 and years to come
Still being listened to speaks volumes.
You know, with all of the remakes out today, I wonder why no one has ever tried to take this one on. Though we all know that no one could really do it justice, I'm just curious.
This is a stunning reminder of how this song was truly embraced by the D/FW metroplex. Yes long live Dwight Smith, aka Ushy Eron (via Gainesville, TX).

my cousin LaTonya Harris favorite song. RIP
Where my lighter at? This was the lick! Like someone else said "classic". Thanks for posting.
Songs have a way of taking you back to a certain place and time in your life. For me, life was so good back then. All the Briar Gate pool parties, chilling at Glendale and Kiest Park and trying to sneak to Shamrock Skating Ring!!! My fondest memory of this Song was talking on the phone late at night to my crush jamming this song in the background!!!!
I love this song! I too live in Dallas and heard Rudy V. play it Friday night.
@centim6 Dump the Funk! As soon as I read you saying Dr. Rock & K104...I knew that you know. I was there my sister was there & you are so right (God forgive us) we didn't know it then, but we know it now, (as you said) that was the era of great music. I'm not living down there in D- & Cowtown anymore (Seattle, WA now) but glad to see am not the only one who remembers & yearns for those days once more. Thanks God for the memories, I am AOW042970 Peace!

It received play on 107 in Fort Worth and 104 in Dallas. The good news is the CD is available at Funky Town Grooves. Go get it!
That D is what's up from Dallas born and raised
Picture it... Yours, Truly... Dallas, TX... Late 1983/early '84. I was 22, and living in The Corners East, at The Village Apartments (8557 Southwestern Blvd, apt #2212... lol). I had just got a job at the Hyatt Regency at Reunion Tower as a busboy... The minute the bar crew and I got off work, we would go straight to the clubs... I had my Ray Parker Jr. Jheri curl, my Musk cologne on, my brown, London Fog jacket... Couldn't tell me SHIT! Lmao! This jam would always close out the night, and I would almost always leave with a lady on my arm. Man, I miss those days! #The80s #Youngerme #Goodmusic #Goodtimes

This is definitely a hard song to find. Thank you, dasongbirdt, for posting this. This is a beautiful song, back when artist could truly sing and perform (unlike today). This song gets good air play here in Dallas on 94.5 on Michael Baiseden Show.

Man Do I Remember!!! The famous question... "Whats That???"
Reading your comment made me think of the movie, "The Wood". Lol
Coach AJ LOL.....that was always the question....I would say, "Oh that's nothing," and pull myself back a little bit.....haha
ChaunceyCMD; we did the same thing at Thomas West Browne, in Oak Cliff. I remember the Big Boys jamming this at Kiest Park, and Glendale Park, while cruising with their girlfriends. #DallasTexas #OakCliff
