I was literally a kid when this song took over the radio waves, and it has been playing in my mind in the last 25yrs. 😅😅😅
gordon lightfoot's version awesome too
Same!!
Gordon Lightfoots' version was used in the 2002 film Wonderland. About the 1981 murders on Wonderland Avenue in the Hollywood Hills.
As a 70s child I grew up listening to Gordons unique voice and loved his songs.
I remember this version from 54. Good movie 👍
This is my favourite song at the moment
At any moment*
i can dig that answer..be safe youtube stranger ✌
I never grow tired of this video could watch it everyday and never tire of it.
God I miss disco and those wonderful songs and the wild clothes from that era.
Miss the cars like the Mustangs and the Camaros simply some of the best cars ever made.
Wow never knew how good it was till now and it seems like a dark and scary period for mankind.
We need to go out and dance to great music and forget the crap going on now.
Love studio 54 awesome nightclub awesome song awesome film
This song brings back so many memories.
GOD!! I am soooooooothankful to have lived in NYC during this time. For you kids who don't know, Amber, Ultra Nate, and Jocelyn Enriquez were the queens of the club. You could put on KTU and listen for hours. What great, FUN music. This song NEVER fails to pick me up.
I would kill to have been alive during that time. I'm a DJ who spins disco house and progressive trance and, for me, it would be like seeing the roots of the tree in which I've chosen to build my nest as a DJ. :).
what an interesting (an accurate) analogy!
Mityahu Ben Keshet - The only thing I took from your comment is that I'm old as dirt. If YOU could've been alive?! I WAS 18 when this version came out. Wow..
The days of disco were simply wonderful and yet so innocent to the world we live in today.
Still the music lives on and it never grows old and gathers new listeners every year.
just got done watching Studio 54 tonight...love this song...
I need to watch it again. Its been too long.
These 3 ladies were staples of gay clubs in the 90s. The first woman singing is Ultra Naté, followed by Amber, and finally Jocelyn Enriquez. It was like Lady Marmalade with some divas of the moment.
Not only of gay Clubs! They where Dreams of my youth!
I agree, I went to a gay club in nz and they played this song 😂
How can anyone not love this? WOW! Talk about nostalgia!
Great clip, great movie, great ending! It was goose bump city watching the end of the movie and seeing those old pictures from the club with this excellent rendition of the song playing. Great story!
This was My jam back in 1999 as well as Believe by Cher. Always played them before I go out dancing
almost 20 years later, still kicks hard...these ladies are singing their asses off!
best remembering......i don´t know how many times... i will have danced this song.....i was so young....
Born in the 90s and this is one of my favorite 90s songs.
Thumbs up if you're listening to this in 2017!
How have I never heard this b4???? It's utterly fabulous 😍 thank u Canada's Drag Race for introducing it to me ❤️
I agree- heard it for the first time on Canadian drag race, shocked I’ve never heard of it before, downloaded it on Spotify and listened it to it near a hundred times already
This has been my jam for years!! I want to go like Disco Sally 🤩🤩
Something I wish I could: having a night out at Studio 54 in 1979!
yesssssssss me too
I used to dance my ass off always worn Mickey mouse shirt sassone and deck snickers
You have see the Mafia in the Club
Every time I hear this song I get butterflies, the legend of the studio will live on forever Xxxx
Always great to hear and see this song :)
OMG! How I love this song when it first came out.
I used to love this song and movie! Those days when dance songs ruled the charts and clubs were unreal
There was something magical in music in the 70s and 80s. And somehow, we lost it.
+sunnchilde This version of the song was recorded in 1998
88Featured Yes, but it was music from the 70s made as an homage to that time.
Love this version, unfortunately in 1980 I was only 9 years old and have lived very Sweetheart this wonderful epoch, come me shiver when I hear this song ... the movie studio 54 was the dream of anyone who likes dance music,,,, unfortunately Steve Rubbell if foi..e with all its madness nois left dess memories epoch that for those who lived must have been unforgettable
Who knew a sombre, beautifully written folk song could be made into a killer 90's dance song.
And I'm shocked it's 20 years old…and still sounds great today in 2018!
GORDON LIGHTFOOT TO DISCO COOL
Can you read my mind yet?
20 years later this still sounds good :D
I love this song..brings back memories
The seventies what a time. The music and the clothes and the cars.If you were not there you missed it.the disco was the place to dance and have a good time.I love this videothe club that i go to that plays this everyone sings and dances to it.We love this song. Thanks to whomever downloaded this song. From Happy

Omg! Hi:)) I'm just loving this song! I heard "If You Could Read My Mind" on our local radio station today ~ I was so wrapped. I haven't heard this song for so long! So, as soon as I got home I downloaded the song. Well the rest is history ~ I've been thrashing it like crazy. haha! "If you could read my mind love - What a tale my thoughts would tell - Just like an old time movie about a ghost from a wishing well" You know that ghost is me! The lyrics in this song are amazing! ~ THE HERO WOULD BE YOU ~ You know my day started off pretty lousy today but right now I'm feeling on top of the world! Thanks 'Starz on 54' ~ PEACE & LOVE ~
Phoenix Star me too! Have always loved this song from the first moment I heard it ;) great track 👌🏼
The movie 54 is a Great Flash Back!!

+Michael White-Smith Me too! I loved the late '90's!!
Beauty track ❤️ I was singing this to my six year old, showing him the difference between this version and the original Lightfoot.
Bring back the 90s! This was the best time for dance music!

2021...
Раньше никогда не слышал эту группу. Спутал с "Stars on 45". Понравилась. Мелодично, энергично, вкусно, мило. Пальчик вверх.
I think your computer keyboard is on its way out
prasert85 lmfao
21 years later, this is still my jam
Their voices together & solo .. the production ... this version works!
Paradise Garage,Denver Co circa 1998 . My late partner and I were dancing to this with this awesome black lesbian couple. Me and one girl were the better dancers, and we just took off with it . The crowd made a circle and everyone was cheering us on. We were on fire ! when the song ended people cheered us for like 5 minutes and we were bought so many drinks the table was overloaded. It was one of those moments you never forget.
Thanks for sharing your story! ;)
Q
What a brilliantly sung song by these ladies! The beat and their singing skills make me wanna get up and boggie!
Like today at the late '90s there was a short but strong disco revival. In cinema 3 disco themed movies released between 1997-1998.From the film 54, '' If You Could Read My Mind'' is a good disco version of Gordon Lightfoot's song from 1970.It was a huge number 1 hit in Spain,# 23 in UK and #52 in USA.
Now there’s a legend.. 🧡💛💛💛💛🖤🖤🖤💔💔💗 .. anyone think so out there ???
Love this song ❤!! The hero won't be you , hero often fails. That's so true!
2019 and I had to come back to hear this..😘😘😘

Don't forget Viola Wills' superb version back in 1980.
Very underrated version.
Heard this truly brilliant Gordon Lightfoot song on trigger happy tv.

Mr Micheal Dospoy Rossetti
The Nostalgia is PAINFUL!!!!
i'm 42 so studio 54 was before my time,
but i can imagine what a great time that
must have bin. I started to go out in 1981 when i was 15, so for me the 80's was my favorite decade, and in those early 80's
they still played the same music as in the
studio 54 days, so i'm glad that i was around
to pick up the last vibes before they did make room for the new wave.
Now, i have some good news and that is that studio 54 is back alive for already 7 years! How? i tell that in part 2
Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow baby!!!!!
Miss those days n songs ❤❤❤❤
Another timeless classic from 1998 a true timeless classic that still sounds as fresh as the day it was 1st released!!! Music 🎶 from a better happier decade and time in life!!! As in 2022 we got hardly any decent new music 🎶 or pubs or nightclubs so we got zero night life the UK now sadly!!! I Wish I had a time machine and go back to the 1990s as I would stop in that majical euphoric decade until the end of my day's!!! 😎🥰🥰🥰🥳🥳🥳🥳
Wow... time flyes... Was just another day that this music was in the parades...
Miss that times
Love This!! Welcome 2my party, handsome 😁
So many fun memories associated with this song. It never fails to cheer me up when I hear this song played.
Still rocking this song 20 something years later. When this played, everyone hit the dance floor!!!! Best of times!!!
I absolutely LOVE THIS JOINT! From the Ol'Skool version to the Nu Skool version... FIERCE! And the Ladies put'n down the vocals... AMAZING and CAPTIVATING.
This is the best version.
Wrong answer.
Omg I LOVE this song! I almost completely forgot about it.
Made me feel, love and vibrate this song, the best that I could hear.

As a metalhead in the 90's, I used to closet love this song haha. My brother liked it, but I had to save face and made him change the channel to something else whenever the video came up in the MuchMusic countdown... but I always listened to it when I was by myself :P
Love the diversity of the group.

this song brings back so many memories! The times I had with this song blasting away in the background!
Three of my dance music acts on one track? No wonder it's a banger!
I fucking loved the 90’s
the song is from the 70's.
Always reminds me of the good old days
:(
when I was 20, my best part of my life!
The nostalgia they feel about Studio 54 is how I feel about the 90s clubs that are now mostly gone. 😔
Great song
i have tears in my eyes when hearing this song. good times!
Good song. Missing those Studio 54 days.
1998. What a great remake and remember the remixes to this song. There will be another time like that ever again.
First R rated movie I ever went to with my dad - he was big into disco and brought me up on all of this. He’s still coy when I ask him if he ever went to studio (we‘re originally from the poconos so nyc was a hop and skip away)..
After the movie I really got into everything about 54 - whatever I could/can get my hands on. I have an intense pull to it, and still get an electric feeling everytime I watch a video or walk In front of the doors (as recently as Saturday I was there again). I truly think in my life before this, I was there & most likely a regular. I have a strong feeling of familiarity with photos and videos - it’s strange.
Anyone else feel like that? Or am I the solo weird one
