Morpheus : "hello Niobe..."
Agent Smith : "Keep my wife's name out of your f..cking mouth !"
😂
Lmfao 🤣🤣🤣
Lol....we'll done 😂
These are real tears from laughing so hard at this. 😂
"I'm serious... I'll slap the snot outta you. "
This movie is incredible. So underrated. Tough to say it’s better than the first, because the Matrix was so groundbreaking. But the action sequences in this movie are unreal. I don’t think I’ve seen a better one than the whole fight to freeway scene. Great reaction!
I remember in the theater, at the end of the freeway scene, the deafening silence. Everyone's jaw was on the floor.
When Neo was fighting all the Smiths Outside it felt like 15 minutes to me in theaters but it was really like 5+ minutes.
I'm not sure "underrated" is appropriate lol. It has a 7.2 on IMDB, and a 74 on Rotten Tomatoes. That is very high, considering sequels rarely rate well. It's not as beloved as the original, but few films are. I think the people that tend to talk poorly about this film are those that wanted more of the dark and gritty scifi feel the original had. This is more of an action flick.
So this isn’t explained well in this movie, but throughout the multiple iterations of the Matrix there have been what we would consider fantastical creatures, eg. Vampires, werewolves, ghosts etc. These entities (which are actually machine programs like Smith) are considered defective and are usually erased, but some fight to survive, they’re essentially rogue machines. The Merovingian is one of those machines, same the people that work for him. That’s why they’re able to fight Neo and his team despite not being agents, they’re literally supernatural creatures (such as the twins)
Yep, from the nightmare iterations of the Matrix. Merv, likely a past The One, kept them as body guards.
@@theduckfromthejoke152 There's literally 0 inclination that that's the case so I wouldn't worry about it.
@@Gyokan7 There isn't _literally zero_ inclination, but it's true that there isn't anything like conclusive evidence. (And yet for some reason many people treat it like a proven fact instead of just a fan theory.)
I think it was explained perfectly well in the movie. Sure, they don't literally tell us that the Twins and those two bodyguards are ghosts and werewolves respectively, but it's not difficult to figure out if one was paying attention to Neo's conversation with the Oracle from earlier, and pays attention to Persephone's line about silver bullets.
I watched the Matrix 1,2,3 probably 5 times each and everytime I learned something I didn't understand or caught it was by far the best trilogy of all times ( try not to cry on the 3rd one )
You got that right The Matrix 1-3 are great don't really care about the 4th one though.
The 4th one makes me believe even more that the sisters didn't even write the matrix
written by someone elsesThe script they were shopping around was stolen
@@wavy-vh9xbthe wachowski’s never wanted a 4th movie, but as the partner says in Resurrections, their parent company Warner bros would just make it without them. So they purposely made it in a way that would almost antagonise Warner Bros and expose their greed.
Interesting fact: The character Z that is portrayed by Nona Gaye (daughter of Marvin Gaye) was portrayed by Aaliyah but due to her untimely passing, they recast her with Nona in her place.
At least we still got Queen of the Damned with her 🥺 gone way too soon
she was also supposed to have a much larger role but after she died they rewrote the scripts for 2 and 3
I thought the role of Pinkett Smith was for Aaliyah
Thats not interesting at all. The same as when people say a fact is gonna be fun.
Now this is an interesting fact:
You watched the jet li movie romeo must die while drinking chocolatr milk in the baby bottle... but you were past bottle age.

"The Animatrix" will fill in some gaps to the story. Like how Neo saved that one kid. Suicide warning though. But "The Animatrix" explains alot.
..also the stuff of nightmares. 😅🤷♂️👍
and for us gamers the video game "Enter the Matrix" fills in the gaps in this movie itself and in between this movie and revolutions.
Yes! I’m so happy you guys are continuing the Matrix! Please do the 3rd movie, Revolutions! ❤️
ASAP
Animatrix :-)
Freeway sequence is still pretty epic
Top 5 action scene of all time
No. It's done in Unreal Engine by 14-year olds nowadays. The story is lacking.
The best
@@ATJ-sTAtno
@@ATJ-sTAt Sure, 14 year olds could recreate it in blender nowadays. Actually coming up with the action/moves/beats themselves tho, is something generally they don't tend to do. Nor multimillion dollar studios that do action nowadays for that matter. Either way for it's time it still completely holds up so your point is moot anyway.
Okay now, don't make us wait 5 months to see y'all's part 3 reaction. ❤❤❤
When the kid says "you saved me." and Neo says "you saved yourself", that's a reference to one of the storylines ("Kid's Story") from "The Animatrix". Highly recommended if you like The Matrix. I'm not the biggest fan of anime and I still love it. It's 6 individual short anime stories so dunno how well it would work for your reactions but def worth a watch anyhoo. Animatrix comes between the 1st and 2nd films so it has no spoilers for the third film.
It also includes a more detailed background on the start of the human vs machine war and details of the mission by the Osiris that was mentioned at the start of this movie when they are discussing the machines’ plans to attack Zion.
The video game “Enter The Matrix” did nice job fleshing out Niobe and Ghost (her partner) and even had scenes with the real actors that were either deleted from the movie, or were shot specially for the game.
@@breekrach3241 yeah a lot of ppl sh*t on the game but I loved it! The hacking mini-game was quite cool too :-)
@@MikePerigo oh yeah, second renaissance parts 1&2 were my favourites. So many philosophical and historical metaphors, beautiful!
@@gy7694 Same. Definitely those 2 were the best.
I didn’t see the first movie in theaters in 99, I was still in middle school, but the second and third film I saw in the movie theaters and it was unreal! Particularly the second one! Blew my mind to be watching it on the big screen. The third film, I’ll never forget, I snuck out of my house at midnight and hopped on a train to Manhattan to see it by myself and was slightly disappointed by it, but it was still a very special moment. My parents never knew that I snuck out to see that movie.
The Oracle never said Neo wasn't the One; she said that he had the gift, but it looks like he's waiting for something, possibly his next life.
He doesn't become the One until after Smith kills him, thus starting his next life.
No, he was always the One. There is MUCH more to the story than many people think. 😉
The One is the one that believes in himself...that he can accomplish anything...that he can defeat the smiths etc... When he believes that he can...that is when he becomes "The One" by default... The Oracle only knows there is always at least one anomaly in every Matrix iteration, she doesn't know exactly who...it's his character she is judging...
@@logik200 Neo isn't even a human. He is the concept (the "anomaly") that the Oracle created, to create an acceptable Matrix for humans, after they refused the first versions of the Matrix created by the Architect and he wasn't able to find a solution. Neo never had a choice. This has been explained in the movies on multiple occasions.
@@howtocookazombie Respectfully I disagree...it's all about choice. In the 1st movie, Neo makes the choice to save Morpheus, not because he believed he was the One, he chose to save him because he believed he could. I don't think Neo ever believes that he is the One. He fights the machines to try save humanity...because he chooses to. I won't spoil it but there is a major reference to "choice" in the 3rd one. And Neo is human...they show him waking up from the pods in the 1st movie. 😁
@@howtocookazombie - He is always the one, but the Oracle was talking about THIS version of the matrix when she said "Sorry kiddo". Previous matrix versions had Neo and he was the ONE there as well. But yeah, she never said that he wasn't. I think people miss what she she told him after the "Sorry kiddo". I think most people focus on the "SOrry kiddo" and not the "Maybe next lifetime" part.
Guy's, Zion has been destroyed 5 times already, this will be the 6th but Neo, for the 1st time, has chosen love over saving Zion. This is what surprised the Creator of the Matrix. To be concluded in part 2 (technically, this is one long movie).
LMAO @ 1:52. after Asia said "who is neo" and then BJ's reaction. Thanks for making my day!.
Asia: “Girl…it’s over. Where the key maker?!?” Lool 😂
An interesting headcanon I heard about the Neo scene vs all the Smith clones was that the reason it begins to look so 'video-gamey' as more Smith's show up is because well....they are technically inside a very technologically advanced video game. And the performance became impacted by the high concentration of Agent Smith's in one area. Thus, the rubbery CGI 🤣
I mean, if you remember from the first movie, Morpheus does describe The Matrix as "a computer-generated dream world"
Also, the Matrix does weird things with Neo because being the one makes him different in the Matrix. Remember when he went inside Agent Smith at the end of the first one and blew him up, after that he was flexing and the walls were warping around him. Also the floor when he goes superman mode.
That still doesn't mean that it had to look that bad
@@AMMS10 Never said it did. Was just talking about a headcanon, man 😂
@@AMMS10lol
The fighting scene around the door with the grand staircase was awesome. But the highway scene with the agents and the twins was completely insane.

Y'all need to watch The One with Jet Li. Has similar fights as the matrix with slow motion and dramatic fights scenes
They need to watch ANYTHING with Jet Li!!!!
'Hero' was freaking great. Good script, solid action, beautiful sets and costumes. One of those rare movies that just gets everything right.
I forgot about this one but I agree. The One was very satisfying to watch indeed.
I actually need to check where I can watch it again.
There is another one I personally recommend : "Equilibrium"
It's more straightforward compared to The Matrix, and the budget is lower,, but I totally recommend it.
7:40 "He tryin to make a baby Neo" BJ got me cryin 😂😂🤣
Reloaded got a lot of flack from critics. I actually enjoyed it a lot! You can never beat the original, but as a sequel, it expanded the Matrix universe and it brought so many great characters and action sequences. I loved it!
They did something really creative with some collective media on this series. Someone mentioned the DVD The Animatrix, which had some other background stories.
Then there was also a video game called Enter the Matrix, where you play a lot of the parallel story as captain Niobe. For instance, you have the mission where you're Niobe driving that classic Firebird trying to catch up to Morpheus on the highway before he falls off the back of that semi trailer.
When Neo fought the oracles bodyguard, he was literally fighting a firewall to break through and see her 😂. These movies were way ahead of their time.
Asia - "Who is Neo?"
BJ just silently rubbing his face looking like did she really just say that? 😂😂😂😂
This movie came out when I was in college. I went to the movies with all my friends and this was the perfect theater experience. We spent weeks discussing what everything meant and guessing what was gonna happen next.
This movie (and the third one) get a lot of hate from people now, but I still love both. I get why people didn't like the third movie, but I disagree bc I can't think of a more plausible plot to end the movie that wouldn't have felt flimsy.
agree w evertythingg you're saying
I agree
Fun fact: the Burly Brawl (the fight with the Agent Smith clones) took 27 days to film and cost $40 million dollars, which is one of the most expensive action scenes ever shot.
Matrix movie is so far ahead at the time and even today considering how far we are with AI technology. These movies are fantastic!!
facts
You should watch your own reaction video of the 1st part, to refresh your memory for part 2.
Wow, I thought yall already watched this. lol Well I’m glad yall finally did.
Please, make sure you check out the “Animatrix” also. It is a series of nine short animated films. It’s really good, excellent unique stories. It shows the history and a detailed explanation of what the matrix is. It is the 20th anniversary. (2003) Just like Reloaded & Revolutions. 👌🏿😎🌴🌙
the way you said "and if ain't nobody else told'ya" made me real happy:)
Rather than using an existing freeway, producers of the film constructed one on the old runways of the naval base located in the San Francisco Bay area. The Matrix Reloaded production built 1.5 miles of freeway for the sequence, though portions were also shot in Oakland, California, including the Webster Tube.
I appreciate your comments, Asia and BJ. "The Matrix: Reloaded" is definitely overwhelming.
There was so much going on in the movie. For instance, the explanations for the existence of vampires, werewolves and UFOs (aliens).
And that battle at that mansion/castle 500 miles 'due north'; as Link pointed out to Neo, for the Keymaker.
I'm really interested in watching y'all's movie reaction to "The Matrix: Revolutions". The conclusion of The Matrix Trilogy.
That freeway scene was the best ever in any movie. That freeway was built in Emeryville here in SF Bay Area near Oakland. I remember you can see it from the Interstate 80 Freeway just for the movie. They actually built a freeway for that scene. That`s why there were high walls enclosing the road.
Seeing this in theaters was a real treat. The Neo vs Smith fight was absolutely insane! At the time stuff like that was only seen in video games or Dark City maybe.
Bruh to me that fight felt like 15 minutes to me but it was really like 5+ minutes.
@ReggieWolfpac1 first time I saw it, it did feel like 15 min
You guys need to see Matrix: Revolutions ASAP....these two need to be seen back-to-back in order to really "get" them. If you wait to watch the last one, I feel like you will sort of be a lot more out of the loop than you should. They filmed Reloaded and Revolutions at the same time, and I think they basically just cut all of it in half--hence the "to be concluded" at the end of Reloaded.
I love how Asia did her lil “chi” like Morpheus did when he jumped in the air 😂😂😂😂😂
At 20:19, The French Guy is the Merovingian, a program in the Matrix who exists as a sentient being within the Matrix. He is as close to human as a program can get. He likes food, wine, women, and power. At his introduction, he is telling Neo and Morpheus that he chose his residual self image, a distinguished French mob boss, because he fell in love with the French accent, because even cussing in French just rolls off the tongue sexily. "It's like wiping your ass with silk." I think he also chose the name Merovingian because it is the family name of the first kings of France (known in the 5th century as The Franks), beginning with Clovis I. Merovingian is a way better name than Clovis.
The name of the ship is a reference to the Babylonian King; Nebuchadnezzar II.
The PS2 game was awesome 😬👍🏻
Still one of the best fighting games ever made, it really does need an update tbh.
Great vid as always, family 🙏
The guy on the table at the end (Bane) has been taken over by Smith, so Smith is essentially in the real world.
24:21 so the last guy to get Kilt in this fight is called Tiger Chen. He was Keanu Reeves personal trainer and translator for Yuen Woo Ping, the fight coordinator for this trilogy. Tiger and Keanu became good friends through this experience, which led to them making a movie togethet, Man Of Tai Chi. Tiger Chen is also the man who got stabbed in the eye in John Wick 3
44:24 This was one of my favourite lines from the movie. Cause it really makes you think.
Most decisions are already made before the inciting circumstance. There's a particular way each one of us would react to certain occurences, depending on our personality types, our history, upbringing, experience, etc. It's as predictable as targeted ads.
Most times, the conscious mind is simply trying to justify (to our rational minds) the irrational decisions our subconscious minds have already made.
matrix 3 asap so you dont forget who neo is :D
Oh sweet lord, it’s Anakin Skywalker all over again🤭
Lol, exactly what I thought.
I remember seeing this in theatres and being blown away. You guys were so invested! Keep them coming(and finish the Trilogy!)
Loved this sequel just for all of the various fight scenes. The Chateau fight is particularly nice.
Asia is like all of us who watched these for the first time😂 You have to watch them multiple times to really get what's going on.
I hope she watches it again before watching REVOLUTIONS
14:09 she told neo he was the one. she said "sorry kid. you got the gift, but it looks like youre waiting for something." neo says "for what?" and the oracle says "who know? your next life or something" she literally told him when he would actually discover and know that he was the one, its just the way she worded and paused on that sentence that makes everyone feel like she told him that he isnt the one when she was telling him the actual blueprint.
Neo versus The Smiths was easily the best part of this movie. When I saw this in theaters for the first time I was zoned in trying to keep up. I already know that you made the choice to like this comment. Now you must understand the reason why
You have to watch part 3 to find out what happens. 😊
46:16 Slash dragonballz🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The making of the highway scene is really awesome
Asia - Go back and really LISTEN to what the Oracle says to Neo. It's important for the next Matrix movie (MATRIX REVOLUTIONS) It will help your understanding of what Smith is. The conversations with the Oracle and the Architect will answer the majority of your questions. Most of the rest of your questions will be answered or addressed in the 3rd movie. BTW, you guys are my favorite reaction couple reacting to my favorite movie series of all time !
What is Smith?
@@leioart Why is Smith?
I'll say it again. Ya two need to watch.
👶 Million Dollar Baby 👶
Roller Coaster of feels.
Also. Animatrix is another roller coaster. That ties stuff together in the matrix story.
Still to this day I think about when BJ said “oh he cracked the da Vinci code” at the end of the first movie reaction and it still kills me
I have been waiting my entire life for the Lions to get to where they are now!!!!!!!!
His face when she says "whos neo?" Lmao
Scene where Morpheus grabs the key maker then whips his sunglasses off and jacket and the music starts again. Most epic scene
The creator of the Matrix would be the Architect-INTJ. Neo(Logician)- INTP. The oracle ( Advocate)-INFJ.
Great flick. Always enjoyed the 1st 2. 3rd is ok.
The Wachowskis actually experimented with multimedia storymaking on the level of Star Wars and Marvel. There are 'good' tie in video games and comics and some books that are canon and tell more of the story. I played Enter the Matrix and Path of Neo on PC (and it actually ran well in HD and played better on PC and it had extra missions, sorry consoles PC will always be better) The additional content explains th world and the side characters a lot more. You can watch the gameplay and get the breakdown of the stories and comics on youtube after watching the 3rd movie.
You have to watch the 3rd and 4th movies, And the freeway scene, Located on Alameda Island, in California, the freeway was exactly realistic. It was the first freeway built by a Hollywood studio. At a cost of $2.5m, the freeway was 1.25 mile (2 km) long and was fenced with a 19ft wall, made from timber and plywood, designed to look like concrete.
Looking forward to your reaction to the conclusion in part 3.
Please don't bother with the one after, it's not required. Watch The Animatrix instead, it tells short stories that fill in some of e the gaps between the 3 movies and tells the history of how the human vs machine war started.
You didn’t like the Doogie-Matrix?
😜
@robbob5302 Would have preferred The Catrix! 😁
When did you record this?
Lions are like 9-4 right now.
😂
Definitely impressed with the Lions record so far. I didn't think they were Lion fan's. Definitely breaking news to me. Unless they wore them in a different video
Neo fell unconscious after using "The One" powers in the real world and is now in a coma next to the guy that the Agent Smith clone downloaded into.
Roll on the next part...!!!
Thanks for another cool video, guys...! 👍🏻
Just FYI the highway they were driving on doesn't exist they built it specifically for the movie
I watched an interview of the lady that owns the rights to the Matrix and the Terminator franchises and she specifically stated that the Terminator series is a prequal to the Matrix movies.
The camera work in the fight with the Mr Smiths was amazing.
I love how she forget. She is us 😂 I had to rewatch as an adult after a deep dive video on it to really understand and appreciate the story
I love how the 2nd and 3rd movies were filmed together. A video game came out during this time. If memory serves it was called “enter the matrix”. Followed Nirobi and Ghost while they were supporting Morpheus and his team. The story of the game was very underrated and under appreciated. Like how Nirobi just happened to be there to catch Morpheus falling off the truck. It was all in the game. Sadly Ghost was under utilized in the movies. Although a unique idea for its time.
There’s a lesser known film called Animatrix that is part of canon. The last flight of the Osiris and the kid are callbacks to this film. It’s a collection of animated stories that fill in some backstory of the universe.
I think the idea is supposed to be that Neo is able to edit the code of the Matrix in real time to his advantage. Thus he has superpowers in the Matrix, but not out of the Matrix.
38:43 He's not in the Matrix when he stops the sentinels. How does he do it??? Stay tuned for Part 3 😁
@@logik200 Yes, that is a good point. I still think most of what he does is manipulating the code of the Matrix though.
Funny enough there is a game called The Matrix The Path of Neo where you get to play as Neo. And there's the one before that's just called The Matrix. But the one you play as Neo is better because you going through his story in the other one you play as Naiobi and go through the stuff that she went through that we didn't see in the movie. Then there's the side movie called The Animatrix where you find out what happened to the crew of the Osiris. They're the ones that let them know that the machines were digging
I really love that y'all put your lights to green-ish for the movie. That's super cool
So Smith isn’t a normal agent anymore in this movie. The Oracle explains in her conversation with Neo before Smith shows up that programs can choose to hide inside the Matrix as exiles instead of returning to the machine mainframe to be deleted. When Neo destroyed Smith at the end of the first movie he was supposed to go to the mainframe to face deletion but he chose to stay behind. Now he’s essentially a computer virus. He’s become stronger because when Neo jumped inside him in the first one, he copied a piece of the anomaly code onto him (Smith says something like “I don’t understand how it happened, perhaps some part of you imprinted onto me” when he shows back up and confronts Neo).
Why do programs like Smith even have the option to be an exile instead of just being deleted? As the Architect explains, an important part of the Matrix simulation working as best as it can is if those involved in the system are given a choice to accept or reject it. That applies to programs too, not just humans.
My favorite of the trilogy, if only for the freeway sequence which, if no one has yet told you, they built specifically for the movie
the oricle was a naughty girl once you follow why she done it. they not connected the dots yet when neo passed out they were still in the matrix unknown to them ,the 3rd encounter you will find out more.
*Neo fighting 500 agents* Asia: "somebody bring me da phone" I'm cracking up!🤣🤣🤣
I saw this in the theater when it first came out. Very cool experience and one of the things I remember was after the end credits in the theater, there was the trailer for the third movie. It was pretty uncommon at that time for end credits type things and there may have been only 10 to 15 people that stayed and saw it. I likely would have left too but I was talking with the people I went with and we were talking about the movie and speculating about how many movies there would be and how the story would continue and we just happened to be there long enough so we got to see the trailer. The workers were in the theater just waiting for the end and all of them just smiled as we all finally left after we saw the trailer. Spoilers were a lot less of a problem back then and not many people knew about the end credits until after the first few days of the movie opening because not many people stayed for credits, but word of mouth eventually got out about it. Super cool experience.
“He’s trying to make a baby neo” Neonatal? 😂🤦♂️
If I remember correctly from watching behind the scenes, the lengthy-but-awesome playground fight with the army of Agent Smiths consists of physical stunt people with Hugo Weaving (Agent Smith) face digitally pasted on the stunt people's face.
6:00 - 6:16 is easily one of the most badass parts of this movie! I could replay that scene over and over 😍🔥
The women who you thought was Angela Bassett daughter was actually Marvin gays daughter but good reactions looking forward for more

“That’s John Wick they messing with” 😂
The First One - The Matrix is And Was My Favorite And The Best!?! 😎✊👊👍🍁
Lmao, BJ, your reaction to seeing the "to be continued" had me rollin. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse got me the same way. 😅
At the end Neo showed he had powers in real life too, when he froze the sentinels
This is the first time I’ve seen anyone talking about the lions and wearing their merch since Barry Sanders
I watched this one and the third one back to back because this ending just left me hanging lol.
The key maker is the doctor in John Wick. Great reaction you two, glad you're continuing with the series ❤
This is my favorite one and was the first rated R movie my dad let me watch😂 I was like 7. Ahh good times
It gets a lot of hate online, but Reloaded is my favourite of the Matrix trilogy. Revolutions confused me when I first watched it, but when I finally worked out what was going on (with the help of a friend) I loved that one too.
Neo is John Connor, that's why the terminator was trying to kill Sarah Connor to stop him ending the war in the future
Ya'll both crack me up with your reactions. Can't wait for the 3rd Matrix movie reaction. Hope it's tomorrow. Great work team work!!!
*neo supermans out of the ridiculous fight with all the agents.*
