"The recession, high unemployment and federal and state budget cuts have had a devastating impact on needy families in our community. Our food pantries are having difficulty acquiring enough food to meet demand. Fresh produce is particularly scarce, because it is perishable and more expensive than canned goods, Seed2Need is a local volunteer organization that is addressing this problem by growing fresh produce for local food pantries. Volunteers and financial resources are needed to grow."
