- A full review of three of my favorite EDC/concealed carry pants by Vertx, the Defiance Jeans, Delta Stretch 2.0, and Cutback technical pants. All three of these tactical pants keeps a low profile and allows the wearer to carry a substantial amount of concealed gear comfortably.

I've been wearing Vertx pants for well over a decade and love them. Work... Play... even a night out (after ironing). Love them.
Been wearing the Vertx blue jeans for a while now as my “standard” pair of jeans. I enjoy them.
The blue jeans are fantastic! The day they delivered and I tried them on I ordered another pair the same day
Your presentation was clear and well worded. You didn't repeat yourself or waste time in other ways.
These are great products for healthcare professionals. Thanks for the video, I will be buying a pair for sure
The Defiance are great in traditional jean and the other styles. Been wearing them for a few years now. LOVE them.
That brand is new to me, great video! It'd be nice to watch you use and review some of the UF Pro gear as well!
Just discovered your channel....I'm a former Infantry medic/TCCC instructor turned RN and every day concealed carrier. Thanks for your efforts--good stuff so far! Keep it up!
Congratulations on your 200k!
We’ve got two pair of the Vertx Phantom 2.0 pants and love them. Very comfortable and breathable, but still warm in the winter. 🐻
Where did you get kids version that fits booboo? I'm very interested 😎
The new setup looks great dude
Thanks man!
If I ever had to retake my medic school, would love to have you as my instructor, been to MANY schools during my 30 years on the job, you deliver your topic extremely well,👌
Hey PrepMedic, just started watching your channel and I'm very pleased with detail and experience of information you can provide.
I was looking through your older videos to see if you have info durable footwear but didn't notice any. Do you happen to have a video on proper and durable footwear to wear on any type of terrain.
Thanks!
Congrats on hitting over 200K!!!
+1 on Vertx jeans. Been wearing them a long time - looks like jeans, carries everything you need.
Great video thanks. Will be checking them out now.
Terrific overview and review. Thanks.
I have four pairs of defiance jeans (different colors) and one pair of khaki delta stretch pants. That is basically my wardrobe except a couple pairs of slacks for dressing up. some I have had tor more than three years. I used to get new jeans every year because they would wear out. these are more comfy, have more features, and last longer.
Great code. Thanks for the discount man
Instead of cotton, I prefer Ripstop which is water resistant and dry quickly. I do a lot of outdoor activities and cotton is a no-no.
Hi! I was wondering if you could do a video on like caring a school first aid kit. Like a kit to carry in your backpack for sports injuries and other stuff like that. I’m in ninth grade but I love you videos. Thank you!
Thanks PREPMED new video, good bless you from to Poland
Little do people realize that we aren’t all medics or doctors to afford 100 dollar pants. But thanks for the information.
Love your content brother. You should do a Q&A livestream or video 👊🏽
Excellent review 👏thank you
I have a medical condition where anything my gut don’t like it swells like a fat hyenas belly. The vertx jeans might be my best solution because of it’s stretchy feature. Already got the McQuade Jeans and they are amazing. And just placed an order of two vertx jeans. 😎
I am a bigger guy and old navy jeans are stretch.. highly recommend especially to conceal everything.. I carry 3 knives, 3 40S&W 10rd mags.. front mini pocket wallet. I think for everyday carry!! $28!! I even fell in a pile of bricks and scraped my knee I thought I would've seen a rip but nope still goin strong.
These jeans are more flexible than 5.11, that being said these actually got torn up on me. They began to split apart in multiple areas. The 5.11s sacrifice some stretch while still being maneuverable, yet they're more durable. I have vertx pants but I'd probably never wear them at work anymore.
question: of the 3, do they all have the same fit around the legs? if not, can you order them by baggiest to slimmest fit? thanks!
These are ideal for shoplifting. Thanks.
I actually liked the leather pocket tip looked classy in the vertx delta stretch.
The leather tip is back in their new 2.1 version!
making videos on exactly what i was shopping for right now.
Great review
They just came out with a 2.1 version. It feels even better! Check it out.
The loop in the pocket is to tie off a pocket holster, I betcha!
dope idea
Nice hair bro, you look younger without the buzz cut
Old School Advantage you’re an idiot.
@Old School Advantage Hey bro, I didn’t realize 12 year olds were allowed on youtube
You totally sold me on the Vertx jeans but earlier today I ordered a pair 5.11 jeans. Hmmm... I wonder which one I'll like better.
Great video
How do they compare to the 5.11? I found the openings on the 5.11 front pockets to be too narrow for my hands to reach in and stick with my Lee MVP Extreme Motion jeans.
Check out Varusteleka tactical jeans also, best jeans ive ever had.
That cleaver pocket knife was really cool. Nice pants but i think I want the knife ,, HA
Hi Sam.
Is it possible to reduce the Volume on the Intro?
It is about 2-3 times louder than your voice before and after it.
If the volume od your voice is ok for me, the intromusic is much to loud for me.
Same! I'm usually on headphones.
Kris Gee doesn’t that scare you ,so many different volume levels across the inter web ,my ears deserve better chances
Loudness Normalize Audio in Adobe Audition by Curtis Judd
ua-cam.com/video/sUAfW7lZNPg/v-deo.html
As an audio guy, it also means that the intro is the loudest part of the video and makes your voice quieter. If the music volume is lower, it'll balance the video out better per UA-cam loudness algorithm.
I mean, the audio is set for a peak of -6 db and the audio is set for -3 db. I’ll work on changing it but according to my software it is balanced.
I like vertex, but for daily wear pants, I need something a little more business casual. Those would be great for me "after hours" but not in the office.
Does the office have a strict dress code or is it just a aesthetic preference for you?
one issue i have with all these edc/'covert tactical' pants, is that i'd have to replace all my pants with these to have a reliable, consistent edc system with these. and that would be a huge financial commitment. so unless i get rich, i'll keep stuffing my stuff into a fanny pack and just keep my defensive stuff and my cellphone in my pockets and waistband.
Don't tell me you wear your jeans only once before washing them !
@@chairboi2936 what exactly makes you think that?
@@chairboi2936 I wear mine multiple times unless I go to drs appointments or somewhere I feel they’ve been contaminated. (I have an autoimmune disease so I scrub down after going places like that 😂)
I mean just buy like 2 pairs a year. I operate on 3 pairs of pants without a problem. 1 pair of 5.11 jeans for work, then I have vertx jeans and khakis for casual wear.
@@solidus1995pretty much what I do. Buy one or two per year.
For my fellow jean wearers. I wear Levi 501’s, whatever mid tier levi’s sold at Marshalls and such, kirkland, Old navy brand jeans, etc.
Your basic jeans aren’t gonna work too well. The stiffer and smaller the size the worser and more uncomfortable. Im about 5’5ft 158lbs and carry (currently) a 1911, Glock 17 with light and rmr, Glock 23, and S&W 638 airweight.
I’ve found the biggest problem is even if you go up a size your pants will normally be too stiff and while normally may work, having your gun inside the waistband makes the little space you get even narrower and more uncomfortable.
@PrepMedic you said the defiance Jeans "fit just a little bit different" to the Delta Stretch. Are they more slim/tapered in comparison? (I have some Delta Stretch 2.0s but thinking about getting the jeans aswell.)
prepped gets 15 % now. Nice video bub.
Great video, I get my pants from TD Apparel. The Carlos Ray 2.1 and Neptune 3.0 (now they have a 4.0) are excellent.
Can you do a review of the NAR Ocho IFAK
Am I crazy for wearing Crye precision g3 everyday? Lol
Cashier: sir, you’re $5 short
Me: darn *unzips pants*

Hey man do you think you can make a video on like an ultralight backpacking Trauma kit
That would be cool. I think I was carrying too much when I went for a hike this summer.
Check out North American Rescue or Dark Angel Medical. Both make great slimmed-down trauma kits for a variety of scenarios. My principal recommendation is always the same. At least 1-3 tourniquets (preferably the CAT-T or the SOF-TW), a pair of chest seals (HALOs are the best I have found but the NAR HYFIN isn't bad), pressure dressings (Israeli Bandages are available at any military surplus store & never really expire but here again NAR makes a great pressure bandage), & hemostatic gauze (z-folded QuikClot or Celox brand are the gold standard). Besides that, it's all booboo stuff to keep in a normal first aid kit or generally more advanced than most are willing to get educated on the use of (like angiocatheters to perform a needle chest decompression). Realistically, the 4 things I listed will allow anyone who sustains significant trauma that can be survived the time needed to get to an extraction area & receive definitive medical care. Hope this helps.
@@Johndewitt66 thanks. I think that is close to what I was carrying. I think I was hoping someone would convince me that I could carry less and lighten my load. :)
Is the pant length longer than a normal length in comparison to this problem with 5.11 defender flex?
Hey is there a best route to contact you directly? My Fire Chief has just released an enquiry of interest to supply Tac Medics to the city's PD ERT. Just wanted to reach out for some information and suggestions.
Cool Video 👍
Thank U for the Info and the Links 👍
U got a new subscriber....
Is there a mag/phone pocket on the left side? Any extra pockets on the left side?
can you do a really awesome gear update
What was the holster you were sporting at the beginning of the video?
Do they have big men's size?????
Get a pair of nutshellz in there and you are good to go!
Excellent video review. Hopefully they will have 32" waist back in stock soon. I'm tired of people thinking I'm on house arrest or have GPS tracker when my ankle kit prints. Lol.
These pants are skinny jeans. Your going to print ankle carry hard. I hate these pants cut, great pockets but delta and jeans need baggier cut.
@@dougvan1483 I think they changed it cause now they are marketed as being able to be bootcut
what helmet display mounts are those in the background?
Do you recommend going up a size for concealed carry? Or are these stretchy enough to not have to worry about that
I go up a size. 👍🏽 I love my pants.
I’ve been waiting for like a year fir Vertx to restock.
They restocked...
Would that ar mag pocket fit a J frame?
The "secret" areas on the waist and groin are for E&E supplies.

Will the tool pockets hold a double stack pistol mag?
The Vertx Defiance Jeans are very light and stretchy. My only complaint is that the zip in front is too short for men. Very difficult to pee standing.
With the stretch pants, can I carry Appendix without going up a size in the waist?
I would think it would be safe to do so.
I found some four way stretch blue jeans at Sam's for $20. They fit well. I bought my usual size and have no issues carrying concealed. I use the Tier One Agis for my P30 and a spare mag holster. Very comfortable.
Find a pair you like, buy them, wear them around the house for a few hours and if you don't like them, return them.
Thank you very much! New subby!
Tactical jeans basically
Hi Sam! Ive got a question about hemostat packing gauze and figured asking here would make it more visible since this is a newer video.
I recently bought a few packs of Chitogauze XR, and I wanted to know how it compared to Celox or Quiklot. IIRC it's also TCCC approved but I might be wrong.
Did I make the right choice in buying it?
Do you have a catalog for concealed carry pants?
lets just get real for a second. no LEO's carry 30 round mags in their pockets. not local police. Not 1811 investigators. but looks like a great pair of pants, and great review!
Yes they do. Almost every single cop and deputy in my jurisdiction carry an AR mag on their belt. Same with the last place I worked.
@@PrepMedic On a belt or in the pocket?
Are these pants available at any retail stores?
Does anyone know if these have standard buttons flys like regular pants I hate the inner buttons
I like the delta stretch pants but I can’t get over the price tag lol.
Yeah, 100 dollars on a pair of pants that likely won't last very long, but they can stretch a little bit yeah definitely not trying to cash in on CCWs
Woobies?? How do you like them? Sizing true? Toe box ok?
Do you carry when you are at work as paramedic on helicopter or ambulance too?
Safe to assume the pants are made in the US?
Great comparison but would help if you'd wash the pants before showing them, so we can better see how the fabric lays. The Cutbacks looked like they'd never been worn.
vertx are not making more delta stretch 2.0... they are waiting to release the 3.0. Just fyi for the gear review that does not have sizes for sale.
Do you know that for sure? Because I've noticed the 2.0 availability has been dwindling for awhile now and doesn't seem to be getting restocked. I chalked it up to covid affecting international shipping but that would be much better!
@@hambone4728 Yes, I had contacted one of their sales reps asking about 2.0 sizes and colors being restocked they said they were no longer making them. Said they were prepping for 3.0 release. They said Fall release so hopefully soon.
Which ones are the quietest, the jeans?
Vertx have any that sit mid rise or high?
Any pants that have a cup holder or extra space for wearing a cup?
@Adam Gautreaux to many high speed trauma injuries from MC crashes. I need to protect them! ⛑🏀🏀
What belt are u wearing?
Wore the Vertx Defiance pants for about 6-weeks and had the fabric start to tear near the rivets--I didn't do anything crazy in them, just everyday wear around town or at my college. For $80 pants, I'm not impressed; went back to regular blue jeans, I'm good enough with a sewing machine I just add in any extra pockets I want.
I bought 2 pairs of defiance jeans and some brown tac pant of theirs that I don't remember what they're called...all of them shredded at the knees and the back pockets within 3 months of purchase... They're garbage pants and if vertx didn't give them to UA-camrs for free then nobody would be pushing them.
I’m coming up on 4 years with my first pair of their pants (Delta 1.0) and I have yet to have any issues. Have had the jeans for about 2 years and I have one seem stretched at the back button 🤷♂️. I actually bought a lot of my Vertx stuff long before I started getting sent stuff. Including the jeans and delta stretch
@@PrepMedic- Good for you?
I'm not inclined to give your opinion on those pants any significant thought given my experience with them. I recently gave them a second chance this past fall and had the exact same issue with seam and fabric failure at usual stress points after only light-duty wear (I work in a school now). So, Vertx won't get any more of my hard earned money, despite your opinion of Vertx and their pants.
Sam it feels like vertex owns you. Its starting to feel like its all you ever talk about and to be honest, it's boring. You drone on and on about how great there products are. It feels ingenious and I can't watch anymore.
Lol that’s fine. If 7 videos reviewing Vertx products out of over 120 other videos is what puts you over the edge then 🤷♂️.
What about labels on them? I assume they don't have a giant VERTX label on the back?
No labels thank goodness. Might be a small one on the waistline
Interesting design....I wish I had an extra $ 300 cad to buy these 3 pairs of jeans....but I have to stay lazer focused on the rising food prices and bare grocery shelves....cause I see that something big is coming down the pipe....Pants just won't cut it in a SHTF.
i’m feeling the same way but good pants, plate carrier, belt and other survival kit is important. times suck and i wish it was 10 years ago
We're do u buy med kits
tutorial on that knife?
Where are they made?
Weird. My defiance jeans do not stretch in the waist. 😑 wth
❤❤❤❤
have any cargo shorts???
Why does that shirt have a line under the chest?
You weren't kidding on the availability comment. I'd love to use your Vertx discount code for the Delta Stretch 2.0 but I'll need to wait until they restock, as I don't have a 44" waist.
Actually just learned they will be dropping a new version in a couple days.
Do you recommend a CZ, PDW, SMG style pistol or AR Pistol as an addition to an EDC especially for a vehicle? How do you feel about those weapons? Possible Video topic?
What is the fit vs normal.
