I just started looking into tactical jeans, and you drop this video. Perfect timing. Thanks a lot Mike!
1:45 $67 Tactical Distributor McQuade: good belt loop spacing, favorite mag pocket, leatherman flush in coin, straight fit.
5:30 $68 Tactical Distributor SYG most comfy (least durable?), camo accent, addt front pocket over front pocket, fat belt loops, not straight, not slim or baggy.
8:33 $55 5.11 defender flex slim dark wash indigo, belt loops too close in front, front pocket tightish, mag pouch too high for easy pull on flashlight/tool, smallish back pockets.
11:35 $135 TAD, no pre-fade wash, no stretchy thighs, tightish pockets, button fly, tightish belt loops, tightest mag pouch.
16:20 $150 oxcart, favorite pair, smallest belt loops, huge easy pockets, shortest fly, slim fit leg.
* also, do all these darker jeans lose colors, stain other clothes or which specific ones. important.
* i always do high knees in new pants. and a chem-treated fabric noise test going up stairs.
* i seek 90%+ natural fiber for breathability/toxicity/heatrisk and noise risk. higher than 10% synthetic can/will melt/fuse to your skin in a high heat scenario incl a boy at a campfire.
* shiny/noisy, like metal/velcro, are useless in a tactical stealth situation and chem-treated fabrics, specially synthetics, make/add noise. you should be able to sneak up on your dog no problem.
If you are getting something from your pocket that has Velcro you have already made contact. Non important items go in there.
Have you tried the Vertex Defiance jeans?
Just bought 2 pair of the TD Mcquade jeans. They are AWESOME & easily my favorites already. Thanks for the tip !
just found out about tactical distributers thanks to this guy its my new favorite tactical clothing store!
The 5.11’s are the most comfortable jeans you will ever wear. They literally feel like pajamas but are durable as hell. I love them.
Durable? BS. I owned a pair of 5.11's, and the crotch blew out on me 4 months in. I wasn't even doing anything particularly active in them, other than working retail. The pockets also developed holes in them from my cell phone and wallet. Would not recommend.
5.11 cut the pants like people don't have a butt
American Jarred tactics don’t warrant sitting up and down consistently lol
My experience with 5.11 has been terrible. The groin area would tear open at the worst times. If they did last a while you still had a problem of the knees tearing along that seem on the knee area. Just to be fair this was in the desert so maybe heat and moisture play a role but I learned not to trust 5.11
Excellent video man, thanks! Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones!
Yes! I love the pants review! I'm always questing for the prefect pants too! Great job and please keep them coming!
They make TAD Intercepts that are stretch. I have a pair stretch denim black warp/weft Cone Mills ones. Very comfortable, but still less stretch than the Oxcarts. You just got the selvedge Cone Mills 100% cotton denim ones. The Cone Mills White Oak plant was the last mill that was weaving selvedge denim in the USA, but they just recently shut down. You're right about the TADs being well made. The coin pockets bother me though because things that I'm trying to put in the front pockets often get caught on the coin pockets on the way in. Still like Oxcarts the most. Glad you added them to this line up. I love denim and EDC stuff, so this was a great review. Thanks!
ive been waiting for the jeans episode!
Wasn't going to watch the whole video, then I clicked the links, checked the prices and needed to know more. Thanks for the reviews, Mike.
Been waiting for this vid! Great info, thanks!
I have defender flex slim and they are perfect so far.
I just wish the Ridgeline pants came in jeans.
I live in mine and no problems.
I EDC keys, wallet, phone and 2x small pepper sprays.
Perfect! 👍
Woohoo been looking forward to this one.
Came for the Tactical Jeans review, subbed for the doggo.
As for care, just turn them inside out when you wash them. The dye may bleed, but it will be re-caught by the fabric and have noticeably less fade. Unless you *like* the fade, in which case wash them right side out.
Great video man!
Bought the 511 defenders and love them so far, I use them in my edc and my career as an electrician
Thanks for the great review. I like some others here have been waiting for tac Jean review.
Hey man just a tip. With your belt buckle move it over to either the left or right of the belt loop so it doesn't interfere with your carry
Excellent review! Love the detail and thanks for demonstrating with an actual EDC! Love your guest model, give that dog a treat. 😉 Just FYI, I think they were originally considered watch pockets, not "change pockets". If I recall correctly, the original canvas pant were popularized when watches on chains were pretty common.
old but absolutely awesome review.
Good vid brother. Very detailed. I graduated high school in '87. I am from NJ and admitting a bit of a guido back in the day.
Therefore, I am holding out until they make Z Cavaricchi tactical jeans! lol
...just got the TD SYG and 5.11 and love them both...:)
I need to get me a pair of those Oxcart... great video
Thanks, this was very helpful.
Awesome video. Super helpful.
Neomag pistol magazine holder would fit perfectly in those front small pockets of the Mcquades. I’m a smaller guy and have tried the side car style holsters an I just print way too much if I carry my p10c and a spare magazine right next to it. I also wear my belt so the buckle is positioned to my right hip instead of up front due to either the belt loops not being spaced enough and also to keep the buckle from sticking out too far from my holster pushing it forward. Digging those for sure.
Yes I would like one of your holstets
Love my 5.11 straight fit jeans
Love your videos. Can you do one on gun cleaning? Your process, the products you use, and how often?
Great review!
I love your dog! Great video mate
Fantastic video. I can't imagine a more informative video on these jeans. I realize it's because of your age, but what you refer to as a "change pocket" is actually called a "watch pocket." That was the pocket that people used to put their pocket watch (on a chain) in when pocket watches were a thing, back in the day.......before MY day too, but I am old enough to know the history of that little pocket. Great job, and thanks. Those pants are expensive though, eeesh.
Ya gotta love the dog just chillin. Pretty funny when he slid his little buddy over. His dog was probably thinking 💭 Hey wtf I was comfortable 💭
I need some new tac jeans so this is right on time 👍🏾
Great video bro
I dont even know why im watching this, I cant afford pants. But ima watch it anyways!
Head Shot No just pants ive still had when I used to be able to afford pants
lol
only if its "tactical" underwear. Something with pockets for condoms and/or penicillin?
Brandon Murphy dude cut some grass or wash some cars lmao
Im liking my Duluth flex fire hose pants. I bought a pair and liked them so much I bought 6 pair. I'm a professional firefighter and didn't care much for our uniform pants from true spec so I bought 2 navy blue Duluth flex fire hose pants for my uniform pants too. They are great.
Jeremy Dankiw
+1 for Duluth trading firehose. Been sporting them for 12 years since I worked in Alaska
Agreed!! Love the stretch on those
@@richardrisner3635 I love Daluth stuff but they can't seem to understand that there are a lot of people that have legs longer than 34".
Vertx Defiance jeans are really nice.
look at the magpul flightline pants. they're on sale for $40 right now. they fit loose, have double knees, internal knee pad pockets. just bought a pair and am about to buy another.
The last ones are the best honestly.
Comander Mcgarrett is the waistband stiff or supportive? The 5.11 waist band wears out quick.
Great review. I would like to see you paying more attention on the belt loops, especially the once @ the back. I love the rear double belt loops (5.11 Defender Flex Jeans) or the single thicker (wide width) belt loop used in the 5.11 Apex pants. Thanks for talking about “True to size” issue and mentioning in which size and inseam are the jeans you wear, it helps a lot.
PS. What do you think about KITANICA jeans/pants? I would love to see their product/a in your vid in the future.
Keep going that way! 👊
Need to get you the first tactical v2 i just got them best tactical pants ever
Great video.
Oxcart just got bought by Dom Raso and Dynamis Alliance. My understanding is Dynamis is expanding their adaptiv line of tactical clothing, and taking Oxcart's capabilities into the fold. Should be a good look. They've teased a new pant concept that has an integrated waistband system that you can direct attach pouches etc. . . to.
William Sack sounds interesting!
4:01 *woh slow down cowboy, buy me dinner first*
Good video. Thanks.
I really like that last pair of pants. $150.00 is hard to swallow though when you still have to pay to have them hemmed. You should review the new surefire tactician flashlight.
I have 5 pairs of the tad jeans. They are my favorite.
FWIW: Oxcart is now AdaptivX, from what I understand. Same inseam size, same pockets.
Hey, if you are still on the lookout for a new edc backpack, the Vertx gamut is a fine choice. I molle strapped a condor emt rip away to the front leaving the pack available.
Mateo EnFuego I think I'm gonna pick one up actually!
The Gamut is SUCH a great pack!
I appreciate these videos. Could you also add how the crotch feels when sitting down? As a reference, I know the 5.11 Apex have more room than the ridgelines. Thanks
The dog might be wondering why you are talking to yourself?....lol J/K
I bought two pairs of Kitanica jeans. They were 79 bucks each. I have to say that these are the best everyday working jeans ever. Heavy duty belt loops and mag/knife pouch on the left thigh. Pockets are reinforced. Heavy duty zipper. These jeans will easily last ten years or more.
5.11 Defender Flex (slim-fit) is the best fit, style & value their dark wash w/ whisking is a nice touch for $55 bucks it’s the best choice, of course you know 5.11 makes some of the best active/tactical/grayman apparel on the market!!!
I really love the stand your ground jeans, but they have been discontinued 😭😭
Looking forward to tactical sweatpants video.
chris k yes pls need some for gym lmao
chris k you may be the first to come out with those get started
I've had the idea of taking gym shorts, adding a bit of tactical belt material into the top of them, reenforcing the tops, pockets, ect to make tactical gym shorts. Something comfortable for going to the gym, but still allows you to carry on person
tactical condoms?
Arrowhead tactical apparel
5.11 stone cutters are my favorite. Biggest problem is you can put so much in them they always fall off my negative ass bump.
The InterceptPD look the best.
To be quite honest when it comes to tactical bottom wear I prefer the bdu material and different types of casuals from cargos a must to whatever's! But cotton is cool but most tacticals have to have many strands of strong fibers to keep from tearing if not why wear them? The idea is the strength and comfort.
I think it’s time for a new updated jeans video 2020
I think youd like the regular TAD intercepts better than the selvage ones you got.
Have you checked out the tactical jeans at LA Police Gear? Good quality at a low price. Stretch and same features. Worth a 👀.
While not super tactical, I love the Duluth flex jeans for edc. I hate pants that are too tight in the crotch and the Duluth pants seem to be great. Their Alaskan hardgear pants are great as well but they don’t come in a relaxed fit style if that’s what you like.
The Triple Aught’s are raw denim. The pockets will loosen up a little bit
I have the tad denim jeans on the way in black. I didn’t know they were button fly trap. My wife sure hates that for when she gets frisky once a year but otherwise not an issue. I own the tad design denim jacket in that blue denim and love it.
Thanks for the review bro! What’s your go to cobra belt that I always see you wearing ? I have like four cobras but the quality is not the best. Thanks
What tactical jeans would give a nice modern slim tapered look?
Hey mike, what color/type is that holster material? It looks shinier and smoother than the usual OD kydex.
TD FTW!
TAD Intercepts best jeans of all time
Wich one do you like more?
Good idea to start first with describing the material don’t you think ? Is it stretch ect.Apart from that great vid
Good review, thanks. Have you reviewed or tried the Condor Outdoor Cipher Jean? If so, how do they stack up to the Mcquade? Thanks for the hard work.
I have the condor ciphers, they are good too. They are a very slim fit but much more stretchy than the mcquades. They also have an elastic waist that the mcquades don’t have. I liked the ciphers bc when 5.11 advertised the defender flex, they took forever to release and Condor produced the ciphers and had them for sale before 5.11 ever released the defender flex. I tend to wear my mcquades more often, but simply because the cut is a little more loose/straight fit.
Take a shot every time he says “pocket” 😂
Where'd you get the shirt?
The dog is the real star and he knows it.
Looking to get my 1st pair of 'shooting pants/jeans' any suggestions? Not looking to spend over like 60 bucks
Are the Oxcarts waistband stiff or supportive. I have the 5.11’s and the waistband wears out super quick.
Awesome video and comparison Chase Elliott look alike.
Check out the Quanitco Day Pack by Camelbak, comes in Multicam Black. Looks like a nice pack thinking about picking it up for myself.
TD McQuade looks good, 5.11 seems to be best overall and from the video the Oxcart looks the best, but why did they choose to leave the inseam at 34.5. Their customers are all shorter than 6'3"?
Bro, I hope to run into you at shot show! I'll be on the lookout for you but the damn crowds though...
Have you ever reviewed any tactical pants from kitanica ?
Are these jeans actually rugged or will they rip easy in your opinion? For $69.00 plus i would hope so but would you recomend them?
Doesnt seem they make the "stand your ground" Jean's anymore. Do you know if they changed the name?
do you know if the mcquade jeans will shrink in the wash? i got mine and they're a bit large and was wondering if we're supposed to shrink them to fit
Link to the conceal carry holster?
Just bought the McQuad jeans. I usually wear 36" jeans. Bought size down due to review. Crouch is very low and I can pull pants off like sweat pants with pants buttoned they are that loose. I can't imagine I need to get a 32". Do these pants shrink at all? Does TD sell any other jeans with lower ride? I feel like I have to pull these up higher than usual to fit right.
Have you found any other “tactical” jeans? I couldn’t care about them being “tactical” just looking for a slimmer/tapered fit with rear hip (mag) pockets. I’ve tried OTG (they don’t hold up as well as the other pants of theirs) and 5.11 slim (not slim at all to me- the older version was but they don’t make them like that any more).
What is the belt you're wearing with the 5.11 jeans?
What kind of shoes are you wearing in the vid??
What happened to the stand your ground jeans???
You put a link for ALMOST everything... but where can I get that shirt? Lol please & thank you!
What difference then regular pants
What’s the wash on the TD McQuades? I don’t see it on the website.
Can you easily carry IWB with the 5.11 Tactical Defender Flex Slim jeans at normal waist size, or should you go up a size? I also wear a 32 waist normally. Should I go up to 33 or 34, or does 32 work fine?
Hi Mike this isn't Jean related but I saw you had a tlr7 but I can't seem to find it any where can you help me out with this
Is there a pair in here that you think would work alright as a slim bootcut? I want to find a pair of stretchy "tactical" jeans that will pair nicely with my cowboy boots.
I'm half joking; but I'm curious. Do they make tactical drawls?
Are these TD jeans grey denim? Sorry colorblind 😩
