- Crema is not so important to pull a good espresso shot, but it's fun to make.
Along with espresso, I'd like to make a soy latte video, but latte art with soy milk is extremely difficult...

This was a spiritually cathartic experience. I came out of this a better person. There should be coffee ceremonies just as well as tea ceremonies. flipping poetic.
There are coffee rituals on africa
The problem with coffee like this is that it requires very expensive specialized equipment, whereas with tea you don't need expensive machinery.
Graestra A proper espresso machine costs a lot. But home brewing with mechanical devices is possibly even more satisfying and experimental as a morning ritual, costs a small fraction, and takes less space too. You should try it :)
This was peaceful but the best peace I ever found was in Islam
Yasumi Ⓥ Espresso is a beautiful thing.
Beautiful. So beautiful. I used to be a barista and the thing I miss most is making lattes for myself. Grinding the beans, tamping, and watching the espresso flow out perfectly, steaming the soy milk with just the right amount of silky foam, and making latte art with the final pour.
Mary's Test Kitchen making latte art with soy milk is so difficult. I hope I could upload soy latte video within this year. lol
***** Hehe yes, I was not very good at it. My heart shapes turned to turnip shapes and my leaves turned to... Also turnip shapes. Ha! I look forward to your soy latte video :)
Mary's Test Kitchen I used to be a barista too and I miss those times! To me, it seemed easier to do latte arts with So Nice's Organic Soy Barista Blend.
Mary's Test Kitchen agree, me too
lil sugar plsssss
wow, your videos are all so aesthetically perfect
Fuse Kane Thank you☆
i agree its mesmerising please make more about coffee!!!

Yes! I agree with u 😍😍😍😍 So peacefull❤️ Congrats! God bless
I've been using my La Pavoni since 1985. She's a lovely testament to Italian craftsmanship. The antithesis of today's automated, computerized machines, making the perfect espresso is best done by feel.
I listen to her hiss when she's ready, and draw a wee bit of warm water to warm the pressure head. I can feel when all is right.
I grind the coffee by the sound, and the reassuring look of the powdery goodness that gets tamped just so.
The sound of the gurgling water lets me know when it's time to pull the shot. If a wee bit more is the order of the day, a brief rise of the handle adds that touch.
Ah, the feel of the solid press of the lever. The smell of the espresso. Bliss.
I cannot second guess everything using a digital scale. It's not time to do lab work.
Is time for a savory taste of that lovely crema.
poetic :)
Robert Borchert amazing comment
That’s some beautiful crema during the press....I love how deliberate and ceremonial pulling a shot can be. Some people never understand my love of the bean.

Whenever I look at a thumbnail like this, I know it’s always this type of vid. I am never disappointed after leaving these videos.
I have never in my life seen someone make coffee with more love
I just woke up at 3:30 am, to drink coffee. Because of this video😀
Your videos help my anxiety, I don't know why but they do. They are so calming and I feel so focused when I watch them. Arigato gosaimas.😌
I love your video, so simple, calm and natural.
Thanks for no music
I swear when I watch his videos on coffee making asmr, I wanna drink coffee all day
Thank you! I spray always feel like the only espresso aficionado who enjoys sugar in their espresso.
Thank you! The only video I found on this subject that really satisfied my needs ❤️
As a coffee lover and barista student, I enjoy your content, it's very enriching.
Greetings from Costa Rica
I’m roasting some Costa Rica La Lapa beans at the moment.
Such a pleasure to watch you making this espresso...
BRAVO! Complimenti.
idk what just happened but it was beautiful
I don’t usually drink coffee, but I watched the entire video 😂
I love your videos, I don't even know how do I get here but I love it
All your equipments glitter like silver. Cleaner than a brand new coffee maker.... Damn that is a pretty hardcore maintenance. 😂😍
I was just about to say to post a vid about espresso but you beat me to it XD
Being a college kid really makes me tight on the money so I can't afford those fancy gadgets. However I do want to learn how to make all types of coffee beverages :D
It'd be cool to see the manual (cheaper) gadgets into action too. I try to learn how it was done before actually getting automatic stuff that cuts down on prep time and what not.
I'm thinking of getting a moka stove top to make (almost there kind of) espresso and get a milk frother too!
Love what you do! Keep at it! Happy new year and may happiness and peace be part of this incoming year!! ;D
The first drops of coffee look so intensely flavoured.
Your video is inspirational. Quality espresso is hard to come by and it looks like you can make it.
My set up is very similar to yours. But I feel as though your grind is finer at a 3.7 then mine is at a 2.7 and I feel that my machine would not provide a suitable grind at that setting. What coffee are you using if I may ask?
Love the video, and love your machine. It would be so good to try one of those out, I've only ever used manual machines but never a lever operated one. Great video, subscribing!
i'm not a coffee drinker, but i came by to say Happy New Year! ;)
jeanette johnson me neither;) lol and Happy new year!
So artfully done! I enjoyed everything even though I don't drink coffee :)
Beautiful video. great editing as well... fantastic closeups!
I prefer tea instead of coffee, but I love watching your videos. They are so original.
I've always been a tea girl, but I now want to become proficient in coffee making thanks to you
Awesome video but try to avoid knocking your basket- it can cause channeling due to crack's in the puck. Also why remove the basket? You can do everything with the basket in the portafilter :)
you are true artist, love your videos
It's weird but I could smell the coffee ;) and now I want one.
I'm a huge coffee lover ^_^
Awesome video!
Absolutely masterful camera work.
Hello, I like your videos because are made in minimalistic and perfectionist way, from the forniture diy to the culinary ones. I also appreciate your love for coffee tradition, and that's why I'm writing to you. Can you suggest a more affordable coffee press ( similar to La Pavoni)?
Thanks
amazing quality video! BUT IMO you should dose more, about 15-16 grams, also IMO your grind is too fine and you putting too much pressure on the lever (you shot time is about 50 seconds instead of recomended 25-30), also dont forget if you'll dose 15-16 you'll need to compensate the grinding size ever more! I've also notices bigger bubbles in the creama, that is sign of "too fresh" (still degassing) coffee, I'd recomend useing coffee in 5-10 day after roasting range! good luck!
@Guybrush Threepwood uh k?
What's IMO?
IMO you use the acronym imo too much
Lots of IMO ;) But otherwise I completely agree
that is a seriously beautiful espresso machine.
Your vedios relieve stresss....and give peace of mind ..so indirectly you are healing people...good going..
Well done! 1:2 ratio is really a strong brew!
Definitely you inspire me so much 💙🌎
I would like to taste it your coffee. This video is so calm .... and peaceful. Please make a video about making a coffee more!
everyone needs to watch this video!
Love the dual camera views and great shot 👍
I get excited if I see a video of you in the time line.. I love your work ,, recipes and the sounds in the video.. Great job..happy new year to!
Rana suliman Happy New Year;)
Man, using manometer pad or whatever that is very impressive, clever way to keep consistency of temping quality
Will this process work with international roast?
all so beautiful...and then...the sugar...my eyeees
very nice work :D
Very relaxing. Thank you (y)
This was really peaceful, I must say your videos live up to the name, thank you ♥
wow, how amazing, i love your channel now
Such an art!
Glad this is my recomendation
Good video. But how did it really taste? I had a feeling it was over extracted.
I love all of your videos!!! keep up to good work!! (Y)

Woa easy with the sugar bro! great video by the way
What expresso maker did he use.
I live in Italy and nobody I know has such a cool espresso machine! Everybody drinks moka coffee at home
Ioana Pilat I got to know about La Pavoni at a store in Italy when I traveled ten years ago. it was like a love at first sight;) lol
Perfecto ❤
Only passion can make us be like that
excellent videos, I love them! just a question, where do you buy unroasted coffee beans?
Wow, you can surely get an espresso out of that machine as you'd get in a real Italian bar!
Look at that satisfied face at 5:00 :D
Thank you for sharing! 😊
Perfect 😍
GREEEEEAAAAT Video and a little bit to late Happy new Year!!!
Me Mary Happy new year;)
what kind of sugar you are using?
That's an OCD Expresso...love it !
Wow.... I really want that espresso machine, but it's rather expensive. :(
Nice video, in any case!
My taste buds are so plain they enjoy the cheap taste of instant coffee rather than the finer stuff with the beans. But damn, this effort and this beauty is whoooooo
Few advices from fellow barista :)
-Not a "little too fine". That grinding is way too fine for italian style. Brew-time should be about 26sec. It was 'bout 42. Nothing good comes from brewing the coffee for too much time but incredibly bitter taste. (But for a 25ml ristretto it'd be almost perfect).
-For compressing the coffee try to use a mount and try to make it in a comfortable position. The pressure itself will come from experience, so you don't have to do it all the time this way :) (that way it is way faster)
-Crema seems a bit too much for me in full city roast, but afterall it is okay. If it bothers you, try to use monoarabica (I recommend Ethiop for this style) :)
Have a great time making coffees! You are great and you have the passion :) Love your videos!
-A fellow barista from Hungary.
awesome video...visually appealing
I am an Italian girl and I can say to be fascinated by the precision that you put in making the coffee , but I must correct you two things : 1. you have pressed too much coffee 2. did you do it too long ( did you get out too much).
and he's japanese. japaneses know better about everything in this world.
not nessasarly
he did say that the grind was too fine - that's why he did far too long.
Italian drank coffee while they are born ..so i agree with her..
I don't think the grind was an issue. He tamps too hard and did it twice. Tamping could make a difference
I don't know what kind of equipment you use but it puts my Nespresso machine to shame. 😞
I checked the price on the online marketplace here in my country that specialized in coffee and the coffee equipment. That espresso machine he used cost about 5 times more expensive than nespresso :')
@@Keithlynd_ what machine does he use??
@@gavingoodall2372 it is literally on the title of this video
Man don't compare your nespresso with that lol!
Hi ! Unbeliveble shots! Congratulations! Why u chance to sony between gh5?
Eccellentissimo! One dessert you can make with espresso is Affogato. Scoop ice cream of your choice, into a cup, add a shot of hot espresso over it...Finito, dessert!
So cute ☺️
Wonderful ! I love Coffee too :)
Man, your expression when tasting the espresso was so funny. The extraction took a minute according to the video length, was be a bit burnt and bitter.
Damn that's amazing! I love coffee and your coffee videos are so beautiful and amazing! gives me cravings for coffee! lol
Great video! Yeah I think your grind was definitely too fine - you seems to put a lot of course into it long before getting any liquid. Oh my (identical) machine that wouldn't be a great. But it's part of the whole fun, you get the dial it in and make the shot you want to make... Just for you... I tend to grind a touch coarse than yours, pre infuse for longer, and let in just a touch more water for roughly a 30g shot. Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful
Demasiado bueno.
Saludos Amigo.
Nice espresso, lots of crema. I would try the Baratza Zette 270 grinder, no crumps. Mazzer mini seems to have lots of crumps.
beautiful
this helped me as a barista
It's like between using a microscope and distillation haha Top vid :-)
im watching this as i drink coffee myself
I think this guy owns a café....
I love espresso with no sugar added.
I'll send an email to the President of the Italian Republic so that he can give you the Italian citizenship
😂😂😂
The would instantly revoke it after seeing the end of the video where he dumped a table spoon of sugar into his espresso
Don't joke man...
A C well Italians do put sugar on their espressos.
Just cannot be archived ‘cos he took no water aside :D
Can you please tell me where you get your appliances? I'm hoping they are accessible to me. I looked for the stove top coffee roaster but the website is in Japanese.
Cheers. You made me water my mouth. Lol
1:01 an ocd will hate this video. That one bean left behind
Delightful. I can smell the coffee grounds through my screen. It's a delicious torture...
