Yo can we get a round of applause for this absolute MADMAN for not only compiling, editing together, AND translating tens of hours of stream footage, but for also adding in his own custom animations, graphics, transitions, and editing it all together into an actually professional feeling, structured, and cohesive 5+ hour whole? This is true, quality simp work here and this absolute champion must be commended for his herculean efforts.
From a fan perspective. This is the most amazing and incredible video ever, you're like the messiah of video translation! From an Aqua-crew perspective: why you must hurt me in this way?
I'm really proud of Towa for putting together the tournament. Finished with 29 points, from only 3 races. Any placement higher than 6th in the race she dropped, and she would have placed 3rd ahead of Marine. Super excited to see everybody race again next year!!!
What's even more sad for Aqua is that if Towa wasn't DC:d she would have gotten 15 points that round and Suisei 12. (If the race would have turned out the same).. Which would have given Aqua 2 more points and Suisei 1 more point... which would have taken them to a tie!
Please turn on CC's for translation fixes. There are timestamps in the description box. If you see any mistranslations or would like to add something you can reply here. Thanks for watching.
Your production quality is very, VERY outstanding @Mechanico . From Coco's Terraria highlights into making these Tournament videos, they never cease to amaze me. Love every second and every bits of your translations, edits, and all. A great salute to you brother, thank you o7 ❤️❤️
Real talk tho guys, dunno bout you but Choco-senpai is the real MVP of the tournament, she purposely took the L and got last place so that noone would feel bad for taking last, thats very thoughtful and admirable.
Having finally finished all 5 and a half hour, I gotta say, absolutely amazing job! I think the sheer amount of work that must’ve done to out this together is actually insane. Not only did you watch all 22 streams, you picked out all the most dramatic and funny moments and managed to cut and edit them together to tell a real human story. As a Hoshiyomi of course I looked forward to seeing her win again, but damn what really got to me was seeing the relationship they have with each other. It may seem silly to say that watching a bunch of vtubers playing MariKa is emotional, but damn did all these girls expressing their jubilations and frustrations get to me. Cheers dude for an epic work, and honestly one of the best piece of fan work I’ve seen in the Hololive community.
@@keevro520 yeah, at this point she definitely is still above suisei in skills but not too far ahead, she made better plays and calls than suisei but suisei got the ultimate luck on her side that aqua fell behind after aqua got attacked again and again. The fact that suisei only won by a single point only proved that aqua is such a beast in this game that even with the help of luck suisei can only won by a hair.
@@takodachich.515 plus the points total in the 3rd Race totally screwed Aqua over. Since Towa disconnected during the Race, the points awarded changed from 15 to 1st place to 13, and 2nd, which was Suisei's position, changed from 12 to 11. It might not seem like much, but Suisei won by 1 point, and since Aqua won 2 races instead of 1, Aqua would've been the Champion. Plus, Towa could easily have won the whole thing as well If the conection didnt screw her over so much.
日本人としてでもこれはめちゃくちゃありがたい。これだけのチャンネルからまとめ合わせて一つの物語を作るのは超人技としか言えない。面白すぎた~ Even as a Japanese person I am super grateful this. Just clipping this all together from so many different channels to form a single narrative is a super human feat. I really enjoyed it!
@@Linksmasher yeah, it's sad since she lost in a big event in such a way. But since it's miko, we knew that it has a good chance to happen. It's her everyday life lol.
How does it feel? To hold so much power yet still choose to walk among us mere mortals? How does it feel to be so high above us yet still degrade yourself to be at our level? All my entire gratitude in life will still fall nothing in comparison to what have you given to us, Mechanico, my lord.
I've been in the rabbit hole for about 4 months now, and I had seen clips of Marine trash talking and Aqua crying after the New Year's Cup. However, I had no idea how much drama there was in this tournament: Kanata vs Noel, Towa vs her monitor, the Kinpatsu Zako Cup, etc. This was an incredibly edited video as well, I've never been so hyped watching a Mario Kart tournament before. Thank you, Mechanico!
Same here. I’ve never been so excited watching a tournament ever besides Smash Bros from E3 and another Nintendo supported tournament. This video hyped me up big time.
Not embarassed to admit, that I grabbed a case of beer for this, threw on some Eurobeat, and cried alongside the girls at the end. This movie really played out like an anime at the end, and I am happy to have been there for it. Thank you Mechanico for your hard work on translating this. I enjoyed every minute of it!
I was in her stream for this tournament. After I saw her first 2 races I knew she was going go be top 3. Felt even better when she got 1st. It was indeed a special day.
@@jozilla6180 because everyone give their best and effort to win but they lost because of bad rng and mistakes unlike last year only aqua keeps practicing till tournament but now everyone keeps practicing for that tournament and they shred crying so hard after giving their best I think only aki didn't practice and serious about this tournament
@@blitzwulf6655 I was the opposite. I'm a big Aqua simp but I knew she was a favourite and thought she would win it easily. I was actually watching Suisei at the time, seeing who the underdogs would be. Turns out she won. Everything was so emotional at that point.
Edit: So we're here after the 2022 tournament and this will be the updated version of the average rankings of Hololive members, with some curiosities as well. Congratulations to Okayu for winning the 2022 tournament, a tournament that showed us 2 things mostly: how important practice is and how much pressure can affect someone. Okayu both practiced a lot more than the other top players (Except for Suisei), and is someone who isn't as affected by pressure as others. Anyways, the rankings include a total of 10 different collabs, the 3 major tournaments from 2019, 2021 and 2022, 2 mini tournaments organized by Towa during September of 2021, the gen 3 vs gen 4 collab, 3 pre-tournament collabs and the EN x ID tournaments. Disconnections won't count as a race that member participated in. Also, this doesn't say someone is better than someone else, the number of participations heavily favor some of the members (The lesser the number of races participated, the more it effects the members average), as also some members changed completely their level with their practice. But anyways, here's the ranking of Hololive members in Mario Kart: 1st: Aqua, 495 points in 47 races (10,5319 average) 2nd: Towa, 1125 points in 115 races (9,7826 average) 3rd: Suisei, 977 points in 101 races (9,6733 average) 4th: Okayu, 931 points in 101 races (9,2178 average) 5th: Ina, 360 points in 42 races (8,5714 average) 6th: Marine, 948 points in 115 races (8,2435 average) 7th: Gura, 189 points in 24 races (7,875 average) 8th: IRyS, 322 points in 41 races (7,8536 average) 9th: Ollie, 139 points in 18 races (7,7222 average) 10th: Luna, 462 points in 62 races (7,4516 average) 11th: Shion, 176 points in 24 races (7,33 average) 12th: Miko, 362 points in 50 races (7,24 average) 13th: Pekora, 432 points in 60 races (7,2 average) 14th: Kiara, 171 points in 24 races (7,125 average) 15th: Watame, 408 points in 58 races (7,0345 average) 16th: Fubuki, 560 points in 80 races (7 average) 17th: Sana, 40 points in 6 races (6,6667 average) 18th: Chloe, 78 points in 12 races (6,5 average) 19th: Mio, 279 points in 43 races (6,4884 average) 20th: Subaru, 655 points in 101 races (6,4851 average) 21st: Iroha, 38 points in 6 races (6,3333 average) 22nd: Roboco, 377 points in 61 races (6,1903 average) 23rd: Lui, 183 points in 30 races (6,1 average) 24th: Matsuri, 134 points in 6,0909 average) 25th: Reine, 281 points in 47 races (5,9787 average) 26th: Ayame, 314 points in 53 races (5,9245 average) 27th: Kronii, 66 points in 12 races (5,5 average) 28th: Fauna, 33 points in 6 races (5,5 average) 29th: Ame, 98 points in 18 races (5,4444 average) 30th: Koyori, 65 points in 12 races (5,4167 average) 31st: Mel, 169 points in 32 races (5,2812 average) 32nd: Botan, 40 points in 8 races (5 average) 33rd: Bae, 178 points in 36 races (4,9444 average) 34th: Calli, 117 points in 24 races (4,875 average) 35th: Lamy, 327 points in 68 races (4,8088 average) 36th: Kanata, 317 points in 68 races (4,6618 average) 37th: Rushia, 364 points in 79 races (4,6076 average) 38th: Anya, 82 points in 18 races (4,5556 average) 39th: Polka, 59 points in 13 races (4,5385 average) 40th: Laplus, 53 points in 12 races (4,4167 average) 41st: Nene, 190 points in 44 races (4,3182 average) 42nd: Mumei, 50 points in 12 races (4,1667 average) 43rd: Korone, 132 points in 32 races (4,125 average) 44th: Flare, 272 points in 66 races (4,1212 average) 45th: Moona, 48 points in 12 races (4 average) 46th: Risu, 48 points in 12 races (4 average) 47th: Noel, 352 points in 91 races (3,8681 average) 48th: Aki Rose, 267 points in 70 races (3,8143 average) 49th: Haachama, 23 points in 8 races (2,875 average) 50th: Coco, 36 points in 14 races (2,57 average) 51st: Choco, 55 points in 26 races (2,1154 average) 52nd: Iofi, 13 points in 12 races (1,083 average) Curious Facts: - Aqua still has the highest win rate among holomen, with 53,19% (25/47), and also most podium rate (37/47, 78,72%) and most top half finishes (44/47, 93,62%) - Aqua also has the highest win streak in a single collab, with 5 straight wins, managed twice both at 2019's pre-tournament and 2021's tournament, where she won all 4 races in Group A, and then won the 1st race of the Champions Cup. There are 3 members with 4 straight wins in collabs, Towa, Suisei and Ina. Towa and Suisei managed this feat during one of Towa's mini tournaments last year, Towa winning the last race of 6 v 6 in the collab, and then winning all 3 of the 1st races in a team with Aki and Rushia, while Suisei won all 4 of hers in a team with Aki and Fubuki. Ina got her 4 straight wins during the EN vs ID collab, from the 3rd to the 6th races of that collab. - The only members never to finish at top 3 are Fauna, Laplus, Mumei, Moona, Risu, Haachama, Choco and Iofi. Choco is the only one with more than 12 races never to finish at top 3 at least once. - The only member to never finish at bottom 3 in all of Hololive is surprisingly Ollie. Ollie never finished lower than 8th place. Before the tournament, Aqua also had never finished at bottom 3, but during the 3rd race of group B she finished 9th, in a group of 11 people, only above Aki and Choco. - Talking about Ollie, strangely also considering she never finished below 8th, comes pretty high in the rankings and finished 1st twice, she never finished 2nd in any race. Other strange placements members never achieved are Aqua never getting 7th, but finishing 8th and 9th, Gura never finishing 1st and 8th, but finishing 9th and 12th, Miko finishing in every position apart from 11th, Watame never finishing 10th despite finishing 11th and 12th, which is the same as Roboco and Kronii finishing in every position both at top 5, and bottom 5, but never finishing 6th or 7th. - The only members to qualify to all 3 tournaments finals are Subaru and Okayu. On the other side of the coin, Flare and Choco are the only ones to participate in all 3 Zako Cups. - Towa and Marine are the 2 members with most race participations, with 115 in total, but if Towa hadn't disconnected during last years tournament, she would be isolated at the top with 116 participations. - Towa is also the only members as of yet to break the 1000 point mark among all the big collabs. Suisei's is the closest at 977, which means she'll probably break it too the next collab she participates. - Towa is also the only member to finish 10 times or more in every position from 1st to 5th. - The members with the least amount of race participations are Fauna, Sana and Iroha with only 6. - Only counting members with 10 race participations or more, the only member from all of the top 27 never to finish 1st is actually Gura. Despite her good placement, she never finished 1st, but she tends to finish frequently from 2nd to 4th. - Also about Gura, funnily enough, even though people said she wasn't that good before, she got 95 points during 12 races in this year's tournament. That's only 1 point more compared to her 94 points gathered in the same amount of races during the EN x ID tournament. - Polka, Kanata and Bae are the only members ever to finish 1st among 28th ranked and below. - The members with 1st as their most common position, aside from Aqua, are: Suisei (33/101, 32,67%), Towa (27/115, 23,48%), Marine (24/115, 20,87%), Okayu (20/101, 19,80%) and Ina (8/42, 19,05%) - The only members in Hololive to finish in every position from 1st to 12th are: Okayu, Ina, IRyS, Fubuki, Mio, Subaru, Lui, Reine and Kanata. Before the tournament and the pre-tournament collab, it was only Kanata, Fubuki and Subaru. - All disconnections happened during tournaments, and every tournament at least one person disconnected. In the 1st tournament, Miko the organizer, disconnected twice. The second tournament, Towa, the organizer, disconnected, as well as Choco twice and Polka once. This time the organizer didn't disconnect, however Mio disconnected in one of the races, making her go to Zako Cup, even though she would still finish 6th even with the disconnection. And in the EN vs ID tournament, both IRyS and Reine disconnected once. - Sora and AzKI are the only members never to participate in a collab or tournament of Mario Kart. Apart from them, Shion and Coco are the only ones not to participate in one of the 4 tournaments. Shion was supposed to participate in both the last 2 tournaments, however she had to cancel both participations at the last minute (sad ;;) - Noel was the only member in this year's tournament to get less points during Zako Cup (19) compared to the group stage (27). In 2019, Choco had the same situation and Aki in 2020. - On the flipside, only Okayu and Marine managed to get more points in the Champions cup than the group stage this year. Last year, a lot of members managed to do that: Aqua, Towa, Suisei, Marine, Luna and Fubuki. In 2019 only Aqua accomplished that feet. - A-Chan actually participated in 2019's pre-tournament collab, where she got 86 points in 15 races (5,7333 average), coming 27th in the rankings just above Kronii. - The tie breaker for both ties on the rankings: Kronii is above Fauna because Kronii's highest position is 1st, Fauna's is 5th, and Moona above Risu since Moona's highest position is 5th, while Risu's is 6th. The tournament this year was incredibly fun, and I'm already looking forward to the next! Let's keep cheering the girls on while they race! Let me know what you thought of 2022's tournament, and what do you think can happen in the future of Mario Kart tournaments. And remember that practice is fundamental for the mebers to do well in the tournament.
I'm impressed. For next year, I think Aqua is still the favorite just because she's still the most technical player imo (NISC & stuff, though Marine & Suisei know this as well, not a coincidence why they got top 3 last time). What I noticed about Towa though, is she has a good grasp of a race, never rushes and strategizes depending on her position. Matsuri's actually very fast but she's weak in the mental department so she loses focus (some of the members too). Marine is very fast on certain maps. Kanata has been grinding the most this year and I've seen improvements. I have this gut feeling IRyS will do quite well. And there's Suisei, all I can say is that she's a grinder (9000 rating) and that's how she won the previous tourna, with a bit of luck. But the stakes are higher this time, the overall skill level is higher, I believe anyone who's willing to put the grind in and the mental fortitude to back it all up can win.
@@mechanico8213 I agree with you on almost everything you said! I also think Aqua is still the favorite, since her record against other holomen is so favorable for her, and anyone that could manage to Win a Race while going backwards has a Lot of skill. She hasnt streamed Mario Kart ever since the tournament, but by her words during the ending ceremony, she probably has practiced a Lot offstream, and If she hasnt, I'm sure we will see some Mario Kart streams from her in the near future, probably lots of them. You definetly got It right with Towa as well, and Towa seems to know the tracks as well, she knows where the shortcuts are, How to use them and she is very good at drifting. Suisei, Marine and her have improved a lot since last tournament as well, but I'd still say Towa and Suisei are the favorites after Aqua. Last collab they did, 2 or 3 months ago, Suisei got 274 points in 24 races while Towa got 270, and it was neck and neck between the during almost the whole collab. I haven't seen much of Matsuri since last tournament tbh, since she hasnt participated in any of the collabs that happened after it, but with the races of the last tournament, that's exactly what happened. Just seeing her Race alongside 4 top players, who may be 4 of the top 5 Mario Kart players in Hololive, and do so well, she definetly has the ability to do well next time as well, as long as she can keep a cool head in the most pressuring moments. Watame is kind of the same as Matsuri in a way, she was doing so well, but the music note in Music Park killed her run pretty much, and I actually felt really Sad for her. But she also has been practicing, 2 courses per day, she First goes to single player mode and does some laps to get a feeling for the course and see where the shortcuts are, then races in single player, then with CPUs. It would be great If she ran with other people but she doesnt have Control on what Race she plays in If that's the case. But I have a good feeling about Watame this time, especially If she jeeps practicing every day. Definetly big agree on Kanata as well, she improved so much in the last 3-4 months, her practice payed off so much. Practicing 8 hours of Mario Kart, nonstop, I really feel as though she Will have a good tournament. Gen 4 feels like the most "Mario Kart" gen right now, since Luna is also pretty good at Mario Kart. IRyS is quite similar to Marine in some regard. She's a good racer, but there are maps that she clearly does better than anyone else. She mentioned she played a lot of Mario Kart DS when she was a kid, so the DS Mario Kart courses are her strongsuit, especially Cheep Cheep Beach. I also feel as though Okayu and Ina have potential to Challenge the top 3, with How good Ina's Record is in EN, and Okayu actually being the player with most wins against Aqua. All of that and we havent even touched other good players such as Pekora, Luna, Fubuki, Ollie, Reine and even Miko (she has improved a lot since last time), Just shows has high is the bar for this tournament. But even with this high bar, I have some bold predictions for next Tournament, one is either Ame pra Gura will react the finals, since they got SO unlucky during EN x ID tournament. They're actually not bad at all, but they have the same problem as Matsuri in the mental side, but not feeling pressure, Just getting triggered when they get hit, then they get flustered and start Messing up. But both are actually good at the game. And the other is that at least one of HoloX's member Will be a top 10 player, If not top 5 in Hololive. If, that predictions comes true, It Will probably be Iroha. She did extremely well last Mario Kart stream she did (although her opponent's skill rating were mostly not Very high and she had assist on, but then again, Matsuri only started playing without the assist a week before the tournament and still did quite well). But anyways, heres hoping for another great tournament and collab, and also, thanks for Always clipping those big events helping not only get people into Hololive but also make for an amazing and entertaining experience!
You're a madman for making this. Have you put this on the Hololive Reddit? This will be a great data for first time viewers of the tournament to know which ones to watch out.
@@NIREV I dont actually have a Reddit account. I've actually gathered this data quite a while Ago, like 2 or 3 months back. If you want to post this on Reddit, you have my permission, Just dont forget to add that this doesnt mean anyone is better then someone else, cause after some members practiced a lot, the order of the rankings Will be a Lot different (Kanata is probably much higher now than on these rankings and Gura is probably the best EN + ID member)
That music during the final lap of Excitebike coupled with Luna managing to win the race despite her sickness just amps me so much. Into the favourite videos folder you go!
Those back and forth cuts between Pekora laughing/yelling at her chat vs. Watame crying after the Group B prelims... I see what you did there, it was hilarious and tragic, and I approve.
I can't believe I watched this all in one sitting. This probably had me more invested than I've ever been in watching a regular sporting event. As someone who only recently got into Hololive and wasn't aware of any race results going in, it was a real blast to follow along with everyone.
I didn't realize this was 5 and a half hours long. It was midnight and next thing I knew it was sunrise. The feels at the end though. ... Time to watch it again.
3:19:15 Robocco luck at zako cup is unbelievable . 2 time course picked. 5th position bullet bill + golden mushroom + blue shell support She just like anime protagonist at that point Also special thanks to Mechanico for releasing this masterpiece. The edits so well done that you can feel the emotion from all player . Still can't help to laugh at kanata sheer motivation to crush noel X"D
Thank you for all the effort you put into making this. Being an English only Hololive fan isn't the easiest, especially when it comes to long, complex events like tournaments. A project as massive as this requires tons of work in order to bring to life. I'd say you've not only made a fantastic video that lets western fans enjoy the tournament thoroughly, but also one that is likely the best way to experience it period.
mad respect you should be getting payed for editing, translating, compiling and doing all this.. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA your love for this fanbase is absolutely unmatched
I've watched it in 2 days. All 5.5 hours. All 334 minutes. That was not just a translation. So much work was done for all this planning, all of those POV, transitions, all the small moments you've made in the video. I can't even imagine how much time it took. Thank you! The tournament was so emotional. It is actually amazing how this simple thing (some girls playing a game) can be so exciting to watch. I really hope that Hololive will do more of similar events as the sport festival or this. P.S. Luna and mushrooms arc was hilarious xD
Did I watch that video enterily in one go ? Totally. The truth is I didn’t see the time pass because I didn’t get bored for a second. The assembler did a monstrous job of connecting the different points of view during the races, making them all completely epic from start to finish, especially with the sequence of points of view when crossing the finish line. And the music that accompanied the races made it just perfect, a special mention for the cover on the last lap of the championship, a nice surprise that made this moment unforgettable. Of course, I do not forget the work of the translators who spent hours to allow us to follow the thoughts of the girls and share these moments both funny and intense with her. Thank you for doing this titan work, really. For the championship, congratulations to Towa for organizing this event. When I clicked on this video, I thought I would come across a multistream with the Vtubeurs having fun on Mario Kart. I really didn’t think I was going to see a really intense and rich mad competition pending from start to finish. The icing on the cake being all the preparation around with the interviews and the scoreboard that really give the impression of having attended a real professional race. It must have taken a lot of hard work to get it all together, so bravo, really. About participants, I was really impressed by the talent of Aqua. I named her directly as the final boss of the tournament. She was perfect from start to finish. And even in the most difficult moments, she managed to make lightning jumps to stay in the top. At first I wanted to support Miko because she seemed to be the main challenger of Aqua in the A Block but she really played bad luck and was mistreated throughout the tournament, the poor one. I hope that the next tournament will be more favorable to her and I will continue to support her ! But my favorite was still Luna who fought all the same valiantly by being apparently sick and suffering from the curse of mushrooms. His grand finale was truly memorable and made me jump with joy! Idem, I will continue to support her at the next tournament, in full form, she must be really formidable ! Of course, I do not forget the other pilots who fought furiously from beginning to end without any downtime. The show was really great, thanks for these memorable performances! If the tournaments of the different blocks were already epic, the Zako Cups and the Champions Cup were both really monstrous, with suspense from beginning to end thanks to these many reversals of situations. Special mention to Towa who ranked well with all the technical problems she suffered in full game! And of course, congratulations to Marine for her third place that she did not steal and especially to Suisei, who was really impressive throughout the Champions Cup and achieved this feat that I really did not believe possible seeing this difference in level. Yes, I know, this comment is extremely long and arrives much too late, because I imagine that the next Mario Kart Cup is on track but after such a show, I could only congratulate all the beautiful people who gave themselves from beginning to end.
I just rewatched it aswell and just noticed something if Towa wasn't DC:d Aqua would have gotten 15 points that round and Suisei 12. (If the race would have turned out the same).. Which would have given Aqua 2 more points and Suisei 1 more point... which would have taken them to a tie!... now THAT would have been interesting conclusion!
I never thought you could top the Minecraft Festival video, I was clearly wrong. I can't even being to imagine the amount of time and effort this took, and it definitely shows, the quality of this *+5 hour long translation of multiple POVs* is insane. I feel nothing but massive respect towards you, thank you for making this.
As i am watching this video/movie, i can really feel the thoughts and effort you put into creating this masterpiece. I really love the transitions and introductions. It creates the feeling of a real competetive tournament. Thank you and your partners so much for your dedication.
Well, arriving here yet again to relieve the nostalgia of the prev HoloLive Mario Kart tourney in 2021, while the next tourney is in like 2 days, is something else. The hype is much more this year, with more members and 4 groups instead of 3. Will we see Aqua take her crown back, will we see Suisei defend her crown successfully, or will we see a new champion rise, only time will tell!
In the middle of the intro rn, I have to say thank you for all the work and edits you had to do here 🙏 I can see there’s an insane amount of footage to work with here...all in 5 hours too.
This is why we need a Hololive anime. Edit: After watching the entire 5hr and 30min+, it was extremely enjoyable. Props to Mechanico for this masterpiece. Suisei really improved to go from the top of the Zako to the Champion was really impressive. Being a fan of Watame seeing her sad was heart-wrenching but she performed well in the Zako to take 3rd. Seeing the bond the Holomem have was touching. It would be insane if Choco-sensei won the next tournament, I really hope there will be another one.
Whelp. I watched his whole thing in one sitting. That ending was great both because of what happened and Mechanico's superb editing and music. Well done and thank you much.
*Looks at the duration of this video. Me: "Holy sh*t." After we got a 2,5 hour Hololive Sports Festival from you, now we got double the duration of the Hololive New Year's Cup. Wow. Just wow.
honestly insane. watched the whole thing in a single day while working on commissions, helped me keep going. crime that this doesn't have more views, can tell you put a lot of effort in it. keep it up dude
I love how consistently Noel is a mountain for Kanata to climb. Or maybe a pair of mountains. God, Miko got robbed at the finish line twice. Danchou stealing 2nd twice has people acting like they're in an alternate timeline. Nene's sound effects are damn adorable. I feel bad for the desk-kun under Kanata, getting pounded on even when she does well. Aqua is a beast at this game.

Next time: Korone hosts 20 hours long Mario Kart tournament Mechanico: ah shit, here we go again Just finished the whole thing! Thanks for putting this together!
Thanks for the high-effort production! Really appreciate the heart put into this. The tournament was great, and hopefully this movie helps people get into it as well. I'll write down anything that I catch, hope it helps (Only for C block for now): At 02:08:36, I think Okayu said あくあが 一生ネタにするぞ って言ってた(Aqua said she would make fun of it for the rest of her life), feels like it makes more sense, since 寝たにするぞ makes no real grammatical sense. 2:10:20 is probably 船長スナイプ代 (Fee for sniping Senchou) 2:10:53 is probably あえての突き (A push here on purpose) 2:17:36 is probably 意外 instead of 以外 considering the に that follows it (I'm surprisingly pretty good at this stage) 2:20:26 is probably おかゆ先輩、それ悪質タックルですよ(Okayu-senpai, that's a malicious tackle). I do believe it's a reference to a Japanese football incident. Also mentioned again at 2:21:32 2:20:55 is probably 新感覚ショトカ (New-age Shortcut) 2:25:03 is probably 竜胆尊の元 (To Rindou Mikoto) 2:28:25, I just want to mention that 魔剤? just means "for real?", doesn't really matter much. 2:36:51 is probably 落ち着かなきゃ(I thought I needed to calm down) 2:45:26 is probably 結構みんな昔からやりこんでる子が多いけど、まつり先輩に関しては (Most everyone here have been playing for a while now, but regarding Matsuri-senpai...) 2:45:36 is probablyたぶん性に合わなかったじゃない (They probably didn't fit her character), then Subaru says こんなもんいらねーつって(like "I don't need these things!")
Looking at thb minimap hurts me, she's always last, getting hit randomly, or falling off/hitting dangerous terrain. I hope she had fun, because when she has no voice, it's the saddest thing to watch😭

I'm at a loss for words over this. From the little things like cropping each member's screens to only the gameplay during races, having certain member's voices come in for a few seconds even when not showing their perspectives for moments such as when they get hit by other members or fall off the tracks or are just fading out as you cut to another member, and swapping between the multiple variations of MK8's BGM for different segments of each race (front-running drum versions, pitched-down versions, sped-up versions, etc).... to all the big things, like having current scores and promo footage appear to introduce each track, constantly cutting between each POV to show off each girl when necessary, and of course TRANSLATING ALL OF IT.... This must have been an absolute monster to edit AND render... I honestly don't even know how you managed to pull through and finish a project of this size all on your own. BUT GOD I'm so glad and grateful that you did!!! Watching through ~30 or so minutes each night has been my nightly entertainment for the past few days, and it was so hype all throughout thanks both due to each individual Hololive girl, but also of course due to your INSANE diligence in crunching down all of these streams into more easily digestible content. I can't thank you enough. This is EASILY my favorite piece of fan content to have come out of Hololive thus far. Nothing embodies Hololive's feel better than this movie, because. I MEAN. IT'S A LEGIT TOURNAMENT ARC AFTER ALL.
This is so damn well done! Like how do you even go about finding all those interesting interactions?! He must have gone back and forth through all 24 streams
What the fucking fuck? I just stumbled upon the sports festival one, surprised, but happy and watch it in one sitting. And then I check your channel and found this. At this point, I wonder why cover doesn't contact you yet because tbh if you make a contract with cover and sell this as a movie, it will succeed. Yet here I am, enjoying this result of the hard work of a madman for free. I hope more people will discover your channel, it's not for you, it's for them. Because missing out on such a gem, I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.
Thank you for creating this incredible movie! This really is a masterpiece! The amount of editing is insane! I really liked the presentation of all members before the races and their points. Made it feel like a real sports event. The game screen staying the same size for every member made it a lot easier to watch. I also really liked that you show every members point of view at different times in the races, without disrupting the flow of the race too much. And every member gets their screentime, nobody gets left out. This high quality also stays consistent throughout the whole video. There were also lots of great moments that I missed in the original stream(s). Watching this movie was as much fun as the original stream(s) back then! It really was a blast to watch, seeing all the different points of view! The New Year's cup is one of my favorite events ever since I started watching hololive, with it's action-packed races and emotional moments. Hopefully more people can enjoy it with this movie.
i hate her character, her whole character only serves to be liked by lolicon and simps, she doesn't have character or some quality that makes her special from the others, my opinion tho
I just want to point out the beautiful editing for the last race of the championship match. - Going in the final race we know that Suisei is leading by 5 points and for Aqua to win she and a few more players needs to beat Suisei. - For the last stretch of the last lap the standard map music was changed to Suisei's cover (karaoke?) at 5:05:36. The editor then implies that Suisei will win this tournament. - We see Aqua finish in 4th Place 5:05:09 then the editor cuts to Suisei at 5th place 5:05:10 cementing Suisei's victory (because the difference between Aqua and Suisei's point for the last race will only be 1). - The first verse of Suisei's song then ends 5:05:52 BUT with Subaru finishing the line and not Suisei. - The song then plays an instrumental only with clips of players passing her. - This editing makes us think that with the final stretch Suisei starts singing to build up her final strength to cross the finish line and claim the victory but after the first verse (the part with the instrumental only) she lost control and tripped literally and figuratively in the front of the finish line. (I teared at this part) - We can then hear the lyrics of the song but as only as background music. 5:06:13 - BUT when it was revealed that she won at 5:06:32, the song starts playing again like she claimed her victory. God damn, the story line of this Mario Cart tournament and the beautiful ending makes it better than most sports anime out there. We have: - underdog element by beating Aqua the defending champion and was 1st place 4 out of 4 times on the prelim. - amazing music (suisei is an amazing artist with an amazing voice, that's a fact) - amazing perspective editing - lovable characters (all of them) - very good pacing (i watched this in one sitting without getting bored) This video right here is amazing not because it gives us kaigai-niki who cant speak Japanese a chance to enjoy this series but it was also edited to cut out uncessary part but make it feel like you watched the whole thing. Kudo's to Mechanico for this amazing video.
You certainly read way more into it than I did. As soon as I heard the Suisei cover start playing, I knew Suisei won, so it kinda spoiled the ending for me. But even that spoiled ending didn't ruin how great a ride it was from start to finish. I watched the whole thing twice from start to finish. I wish they did stuff like this more often. I did watch the 3rd vs 4th gen Mario Kart tournament last month as well, but it wasn't quite as fun since it was a team match, so there wasn't as much tension when an individual started doing bad because the rest of the team could usually make up for it.
I finally watched this completely through. I watched a race or 2 like every other day. This is such a great edit. I love how you can really see everyone's emotions, down to the play by play moments. You really see a whole story arc out of this. Fantastic job putting it together!
Its taken me a couple of weeks of bursts of viewing. But I’ve finally finished it! What a fantastic edit and translation! I can’t wait to see more stuff from this channel, keep up the quality work!
I've been watching this bit by bit over the last week or so, currently up to the 2nd Finals race. This is bloody amazing mate, so much time and effort has been put into this and it's an absolute joy to watch. I never saw the streams for these races so everything is unknown to me, and my god is this exciting. Can't wait to see who is crowned champion. You're a bloody Legend for putting this together mate!
Finally,a proper translation and recap of the Hololive Grand Prix! 😁 Also,to show how just a madlad you are for translating the entire tournament....... MotoGP races usually runs at about 40 minutes to 1 hour Formula 1 races usually runs at about 1.5 hours, and currently capped at 2 hours max Most major and premiere endurance races runs at 4 to 6 hours A single day of a FIA World Rallycross championship can also run at about 4 to 6 hours. Assuming it's at Sunday (so the races consists of World RX Q3,World RX Q4,Super 1600 finals,World RX semifinals,World RX2 finals,Projekt E race if present, and World RX finals),this means the amount of the races done on a day is similar to the races done in the Holo Grand Prix, considering World Rallycross races runs at a short track for 4 to 6 laps And here you are, doing god's work by fully translating an event that goes as long as a real life endurance racing or a World RX weekend. You,sir, has achieved a status beyond professional, and for that I give my highest, earnest respect to you 😁
Yo can we get a round of applause for this absolute MADMAN for not only compiling, editing together, AND translating tens of hours of stream footage, but for also adding in his own custom animations, graphics, transitions, and editing it all together into an actually professional feeling, structured, and cohesive 5+ hour whole?
This is true, quality simp work here and this absolute champion must be commended for his herculean efforts.
Exactlyyyy man..

Your production quality is very, VERY outstanding @Mechanico . From Coco's Terraria highlights into making these Tournament videos, they never cease to amaze me. Love every second and every bits of your translations, edits, and all.
A great salute to you brother, thank you o7 ❤️❤️
Thanks
Real talk tho guys, dunno bout you but Choco-senpai is the real MVP of the tournament, she purposely took the L and got last place so that noone would feel bad for taking last, thats very thoughtful and admirable.

You absolute baller
4:23:09 Marine calling Aqua a damn introvert really made me laugh
god damn.. aqua is on a different league.
her skill and knowledge of the race is god tier
i agree but sadly luck plays a big part in the game as well :(
@@keevro520 yeah, at this point she definitely is still above suisei in skills but not too far ahead, she made better plays and calls than suisei but suisei got the ultimate luck on her side that aqua fell behind after aqua got attacked again and again. The fact that suisei only won by a single point only proved that aqua is such a beast in this game that even with the help of luck suisei can only won by a hair.
Watching her skill causes me physical pain
@@lolcall5295 Cant really say that, while Aqua had bad luck on the last round, Suisei got bashed equally hard too
@@takodachich.515 plus the points total in the 3rd Race totally screwed Aqua over.
This is even bigger and more ambitious than the Snyder cut.
Better characters too
Not a very high bar
日本人としてでもこれはめちゃくちゃありがたい。これだけのチャンネルからまとめ合わせて一つの物語を作るのは超人技としか言えない。面白すぎた~
Even as a Japanese person I am super grateful this. Just clipping this all together from so many different channels to form a single narrative is a super human feat. I really enjoyed it!
I agree with you, JP bro
1:54:55 the cut to Matsuri’s poker face after Towa was sure she’d be yelling was hilarious lmaooo
I genuinely felt sadness when Miko was 2nd and got fucked over at the end on Big blue lmao
Same TT
For me the biggest oof had to be Towa missing out on a race after making it to the finals. And _still_ making it in 6th even despite that.
It was 2 times, poor Miko, now that I watched it, her luck and rng weren't with her at all.
Just watched it, Miko is so saddd, pain.
@@Linksmasher yeah, it's sad since she lost in a big event in such a way. But since it's miko, we knew that it has a good chance to happen. It's her everyday life lol.

All my entire gratitude in life will still fall nothing in comparison to what have you given to us, Mechanico, my lord.
tl;dr thank

This video hyped me up big time.
mechanico: posts the longest, most comprehensive translated holo-event of all time (sports festival)
also mechanico: wanna see me do it again?
Not embarassed to admit, that I grabbed a case of beer for this, threw on some Eurobeat, and cried alongside the girls at the end.
This movie really played out like an anime at the end, and I am happy to have been there for it. Thank you Mechanico for your hard work on translating this. I enjoyed every minute of it!
Bruh the pacing and cuts of this entire thing was so smooth. Definitely felt like a highly produced movie.
Man as a Hoshiyomis this is good day for us. I remember cheering loudly for Suisei so much my throat hurt.
I was in her stream for this tournament. After I saw her first 2 races I knew she was going go be top 3. Felt even better when she got 1st. It was indeed a special day.
The tournament where everyone cried
Seriously though. Never have I thought a mario kart tournament would make me shed a tear.
@@jozilla6180 because everyone give their best and effort to win but they lost because of bad rng and mistakes unlike last year only aqua keeps practicing till tournament but now everyone keeps practicing for that tournament and they shred crying so hard after giving their best
I think only aki didn't practice and serious about this tournament
I was rooting against Aqua because she was the favorite, but then she cried and it wasn't fun anymore.
@@blitzwulf6655 I was the opposite. I'm a big Aqua simp but I knew she was a favourite and thought she would win it easily. I was actually watching Suisei at the time, seeing who the underdogs would be. Turns out she won. Everything was so emotional at that point.
Not marine tho...gotta love her for that
Edit: So we're here after the 2022 tournament and this will be the updated version of the average rankings of Hololive members, with some curiosities as well. But anyways, here's the ranking of Hololive members in Mario Kart:

51st: Choco, 55 points in 26 races (2,1154 average)
52nd: Iofi, 13 points in 12 races (1,083 average)
Curious Facts:
- Aqua still has the highest win rate among holomen, with 53,19% (25/47), and also most podium rate (37/47, 78,72%) and most top half finishes (44/47, 93,62%)
- Aqua also has the highest win streak in a single collab, with 5 straight wins, managed twice both at 2019's pre-tournament and 2021's tournament, where she won all 4 races in Group A, and then won the 1st race of the Champions Cup.
- The members with 1st as their most common position, aside from Aqua, are: Suisei (33/101, 32,67%), Towa (27/115, 23,48%), Marine (24/115, 20,87%), Okayu (20/101, 19,80%) and Ina (8/42, 19,05%)
- The only members in Hololive to finish in every position from 1st to 12th are: Okayu, Ina, IRyS, Fubuki, Mio, Subaru, Lui, Reine and Kanata.
Shion was supposed to participate in both the last 2 tournaments, however she had to cancel both participations at the last minute (sad ;;)
- Noel was the only member in this year's tournament to get less points during Zako Cup (19) compared to the group stage (27).
I bet Aqua and Suisei getting top 2 if other member not getting insane luck in Items
When Mechanico drops a movie, you already knows it's gonna be legendary 🙌
That music during the final lap of Excitebike coupled with Luna managing to win the race despite her sickness just amps me so much. Into the favourite videos folder you go!
Me: 5 hour long translation? Nah, that's gotta be fak-
*sees it's Mechanico*
Understandable, have a nice day.
Exactly..

Aqua: I'm so nervous.
also her character: head banging with kanata looks kinda lit
Those back and forth cuts between Pekora laughing/yelling at her chat vs. Watame crying after the Group B prelims... I see what you did there, it was hilarious and tragic, and I approve.
Press F to Towa got 29 points though she had so many issues during those matches, and she kept positive towards each match without blaming UWU
I can't believe I watched this all in one sitting.
This probably had me more invested than I've ever been in watching a regular sporting event.
As someone who only recently got into Hololive and wasn't aware of any race results going in, it was a real blast to follow along with everyone.
Love how everyone is super stressed in the finals trying their hardest and Okayu just laughs like a maniac everytime she gets hit.
That's her way of coping
2:59:28 "It's not like mine's getting picked, right?"
Yep, hers definitely will get picked
Not only a translated video is 5 hours long. The editing is top quality. Hats off to you! Amazing stuff man.
I didn't realize this was 5 and a half hours long. It was midnight and next thing I knew it was sunrise. The feels at the end though.
...
Time to watch it again.
3:19:15
Robocco luck at zako cup is unbelievable . 2 time course picked. 5th position bullet bill + golden mushroom + blue shell support
She just like anime protagonist at that point
Also special thanks to Mechanico for releasing this masterpiece. The edits so well done that you can feel the emotion from all player . Still can't help to laugh at kanata sheer motivation to crush noel X"D
I cannot believe how hard Watame got bullied by the chubby music notes...
ya man, i was like.... Go watame! Noooo! Okay Go watame!!! NOOOOOOO XD

Rewatched this masterpiece for the 2nd time (3rd time total). Hyped for the upcoming MK8 tournament with 44 of the members!!!
I like the fact PPT wants to defeat Noel each round and doesn't care when if she is 1st or not, just only to defeat Noel XDDD
As i am watching this video/movie, i can really feel the thoughts and effort you put into creating this masterpiece. I really love the transitions and introductions. It creates the feeling of a real competetive tournament. Thank you and your partners so much for your dedication.
"oh shit, its the guy who posted the hour long Minecraft sports festival translation"
*looks at the video length*
"What a chad..."
Today we have seen EXACTLY what happens
The cat took the title from our Comet (and that Aqua didn't even make it out of the group of death)
I'm in awe of the insane dedication it must take to do something on this scale. Everyone is a winner today.
In the middle of the intro rn, I have to say thank you for all the work and edits you had to do here 🙏
I can see there’s an insane amount of footage to work with here...all in 5 hours too.

Glad it helped you.

Thanks for the high-effort production! Really appreciate the heart put into this. The tournament was great, and hopefully this movie helps people get into it as well.
I'll write down anything that I catch, hope it helps (Only for C block for now):
At 02:08:36, I think Okayu said あくあが 一生ネタにするぞ って言ってた(Aqua said she would make fun of it for the rest of her life), feels like it makes more sense, since 寝たにするぞ makes no real grammatical sense.
2:10:20 is probably 船長スナイプ代 (Fee for sniping Senchou)
2:10:53 is probably あえての突き (A push here on purpose)
2:17:36 is probably 意外 instead of 以外 considering the に that follows it (I'm surprisingly pretty good at this stage)
2:20:26 is probably おかゆ先輩、それ悪質タックルですよ(Okayu-senpai, that's a malicious tackle). I do believe it's a reference to a Japanese football incident. Also mentioned again at 2:21:32
2:20:55 is probably 新感覚ショトカ (New-age Shortcut)
2:25:03 is probably 竜胆尊の元 (To Rindou Mikoto)
2:28:25, I just want to mention that 魔剤? just means "for real?", doesn't really matter much.
2:36:51 is probably 落ち着かなきゃ(I thought I needed to calm down)
2:45:26 is probably 結構みんな昔からやりこんでる子が多いけど、まつり先輩に関しては (Most everyone here have been playing for a while now, but regarding Matsuri-senpai...)
2:45:36 is probablyたぶん性に合わなかったじゃない (They probably didn't fit her character), then Subaru says こんなもんいらねーつって(like "I don't need these things!")
No man, these things help. Thanks!
I really feel bad for Choco since she couldn't even stream. I hope she still had fun, she was almost always in last and far behind.
Looking at thb minimap hurts me, she's always last, getting hit randomly, or falling off/hitting dangerous terrain. I hope she had fun, because when she has no voice, it's the saddest thing to watch😭
the sheer effort it would take to compile all these plus translate them is insane. and the editing is top notch too like holy moly.
not to mention the flow of the races are so smoothly knitted. great sense of POV shifts!

Thanks, render wasn't that long. Only 3 days.
This is so damn well done!
Like how do you even go about finding all those interesting interactions?! He must have gone back and forth through all 24 streams
Was blown away when I saw the DOTA 2 International styled player introductions! Props to you again Mechanico!

LUNAAAAAAAAA 😭😭😭
(I teared at this part)
- We can then hear the lyrics of the song but as only as background music. 5:06:13
- BUT when it was revealed that she won at 5:06:32, the song starts playing again like she claimed her victory.
God damn, the story line of this Mario Cart tournament and the beautiful ending makes it better than most sports anime out there.
We have:
- underdog element by beating Aqua the defending champion and was 1st place 4 out of 4 times on the prelim.
- amazing music (suisei is an amazing artist with an amazing voice, that's a fact)
- amazing perspective editing
- lovable characters (all of them)
- very good pacing (i watched this in one sitting without getting bored)
This video right here is amazing not because it gives us kaigai-niki who cant speak Japanese a chance to enjoy this series but it was also edited to cut out uncessary part but make it feel like you watched the whole thing. Kudo's to Mechanico for this amazing video.
Thanks
You certainly read way more into it than I did. As soon as I heard the Suisei cover start playing, I knew Suisei won, so it kinda spoiled the ending for me. But even that spoiled ending didn't ruin how great a ride it was from start to finish. I watched the whole thing twice from start to finish. I wish they did stuff like this more often. I did watch the 3rd vs 4th gen Mario Kart tournament last month as well, but it wasn't quite as fun since it was a team match, so there wasn't as much tension when an individual started doing bad because the rest of the team could usually make up for it.
Holy crap, no way. You absolute madlad. This is incredible.
Oh god someone actually compiled and translated the whole mario kart tournament arc this is absolutely amazing
I finally watched this completely through. I watched a race or 2 like every other day. This is such a great edit. I love how you can really see everyone's emotions, down to the play by play moments. You really see a whole story arc out of this. Fantastic job putting it together!
Oh no man. You did not just create another hololive movie. I just watched the sports festival.
You're the king among kings for sure.
2nd time watching this masterpiece, truly a golden experience
is this the power of Requiem?
1:36:07 the transition from watame crying to pekora screaming, is just tragic to me yet hilarious
Ahhh the memories🥰
Wow! Even if I watch it in bits, I'm still excited!
The way this was edited together was the absolute best way to watch this thing. Good job on this incredible video!
I finished watching this in one sitting. Thank you for the beautiful work: you made all the stream clips coherent and very enjoyable!
5 hours translation clip, using different POVs, with transition, and animation for the Hololive members. Hands down. MAD LAD.
Finally,a proper translation and recap of the Hololive Grand Prix! 😁
Also,to show how just a madlad you are for translating the entire tournament.......
MotoGP races usually runs at about 40 minutes to 1 hour
Formula 1 races usually runs at about 1.5 hours, and currently capped at 2 hours max
Most major and premiere endurance races runs at 4 to 6 hours
A single day of a FIA World Rallycross championship can also run at about 4 to 6 hours. Assuming it's at Sunday (so the races consists of World RX Q3,World RX Q4,Super 1600 finals,World RX semifinals,World RX2 finals,Projekt E race if present, and World RX finals),this means the amount of the races done on a day is similar to the races done in the Holo Grand Prix, considering World Rallycross races runs at a short track for 4 to 6 laps
And here you are, doing god's work by fully translating an event that goes as long as a real life endurance racing or a World RX weekend.
You,sir, has achieved a status beyond professional, and for that I give my highest, earnest respect to you 😁
Give him at least 100k subs lol he deserves that much
