Once they were left "Alone" by their record / management companies to create what they wanted, well... look what they did. Alone's somewhat sad, heavy yet empowering story (topics Miku's known for writing about), up against Kanami's up-tempo, complex yet rockin' music is quintessential Band-Maid. BAND-MAID is an important influence and contributor to the music industry with a continuous, growing worldwide fanbase. But to me, they are just the best sounding, best writers of hard rock music, and the most fun, joyous group of musicians to come along since the Beatles! Thx, Sofi!
Rarely has a title fitted the story of the song and the video so well. The first song they were allowed to release, which they wrote entirely themselves, recorded in an empty studio with no one to interfere. And a detail that can easily get lost is seen in the first frames of the video, in which Saiki throws her microphone stand, which she had been seen with in every MV up until then, away from her with full force and has never used one again from then on. Perhaps one of their most important milestones with a video that is not only musically pleasing, but also has some visual 'eastereggs' in store for those who take a closer look at this band. 🔥🤘🏻

First milestone, "Thrill", saved the band. Second milestone, "Alone", first song written and composed completely by Band-Maid allowed onto an album. Still one of Kanami's is best solos!

There's actually another version of this video (used as a karaoke video, I believe) that uses some parts of this along with some footage recorded later, after Miku started playing Zemitis guitars.
Sofi, there are some songs by Band-Maid that I think you would love reacting to. They are their very early songs from the Maid In Japan and Brand New Maid albums that do not have videos. However, a Band-Maid fan and UA-camr by the name of Panic in Detroit (or PnD) made collages of early Band-Maid photos that he paired with the photos and is willing to share with you, if you contact him and give him a proper e-mail address or other way for him to forward those song collages to you. You can also contact the UA-camr - Greedy and Moobag, who PnD has sent those collages to and he is willing to share them with you to react to. Greedy resides in the UK as well. Those collages are great and will give you a new prospective on the Maids in the early years. By the way, some of them are hilarious.
