    Had bikes all my life, and the first I ever bought with my own personal money was a 2002 Mean Streak. I've had Vulcans ever since. Wife has a 900 Custom. I handed down my Mean Streak to my 21yr old son, and last year I bought my 2013 1700 Nomad - a bike I've considered my dream bike for about 15 years. Still very happy with it.

      Quite a journey you've had in your riding career Sir! Glad to hear you've gotten your dream bike. I can certainly relate to that one. How lucky are we?! 👌

      @@AnxietyWizard It's a beautiful bike. I always say it's like riding a big fluffy couch. Took me a while to get used to the "wheelbarrow" handlebars. Enjoy, sir! Looks great.

    Heated grips and cruise controls are game changers on long rides.

      Me too. I experienced heated grips for the first time when I rode Ross’ BMW R18. Converted!
      ABS, I’ve only had on my Himi. Never used it. It has dirt tyres on it anyway. So I had it disabled permanently.
      Cruise, I’m yet to have.
      Either way. The big bike you just bought is a beaut. It’s such a mile muncher. Comfort for days. Kawasaki reliability. Big storage. Comfy seat. And will handle two up as you suggested. Perfect bike!!!!

      @@whatsstefon I hadn't noticed just how poor the Shadow's breaks were until riding this bike with ABS - the comparison is stark and made me realise the Shadow's breaks are entirely inadequate despite a recent service. Scary.

      @@AnxietyWizard it’s not uncommon for that era of Honda brakes to be wooden and lifeless apart from their performance bikes.

    I love the Kawasaki Vulcan yeah Kawasaki doesn’t have that brand name appeal as Harley Davidson does but I think it’s a great bike to cruise the country on, the only complaint I have about my 07 it’s a 5 speed I would love have a 6th gear

    • @AnxietyWizard

      I agree man, they're great bikes and I am thankful to have a 6th gear on my 2011 1700 Nomad.

    Great looking bike and seems super capable of anything you throw at it. Love those pipes, usb is a treat and I've got the Oxford heated grips and once you've used them, you'll always want them on any bike. Can't wait to see the rides and adventures on the 1700 rolling out. Congratulations mate, it's a beauty!

    Enjoy riding your new steed. Creature comforts are always a welcome addition on long hauls or times when you need a little assistance. Big bike are always a bit more of a handful whilst manoeuvring in tight places.
    I guarantee you’ll look back in a few months and think: Wow, I’m more comfortable manoeuvring the bike now. Stay healthy, stay happy, Smithy.

    • @AnxietyWizard
      @AnxietyWizard  7 місяців тому +1

      Thanks Smithy! Tell you what, I'm not sure how I lived without cruise control now I know how it feels 😅 it feels cumbersome to move around when stationary but a dream when moving; even find it corners better than my shadow does. Looking forward to growing with this big girl.
      Appreciate you watching and your support my man.

    She’s a beauty Spencer - very happy for you. Glad you’ve got safer brakes but don’t get overconfident that’s when things like power tools and bikes bite you ;-) but it’ll give you a little more margin for error all things being equal and that’s only a good thing!

    • @AnxietyWizard
      @AnxietyWizard  7 місяців тому +1

      Definitely not going to let the breaks make me overconfident- if anything this new bike has set my confidence back a fair bit. It was a big shock when I rode the Shadow after the Nomad though, made me realise the Shadows lack of breaking capability is downright dangerous at best.
      Having noticed the difference now it is astounding!
