- Hey folks, here is compilation/music video concerning everyone's favorite evil megacorp's private army. Thinking about doing a couple more as it was fun (and solemn).

More to come
Balam have such a "WTF IS A KILOMETEEEEEEER" vibe, loved it.
The Americans! MILWAUKEE!
Siding with them is way easier than Arquebus
@@the_infinexosOh definitely, definitely doesn’t help the fact that their head Vesper is the snarkiest sonovagun
but hey, there’s V.III, V.V, V.VIII and of course V.IV that are mostly chill
@@kikokiko8394 I’ll admit, in my current snd first playthrough I sided with Arqebus only cause I liked Pater and Rusty
Then the bastards set me up to fight Rusty - welp… ._.
@@mishaalkisan1688 Ah yeah. What Arquebus fears the most are pilots that are skilled enough to fly the skies on their own volition. That’s why they wanted to dispose of Rusty-or you.
Hope you enjoy the game and I suggest going blind on your playthroughs, really makes the content all the better (especially Ice Worm, I just wish I could experience that mission for the first time again)
I never even put it together that we killed gun 13 the mission prior. That’s hilarious.
Walter is playing it so cold. He literally calls up Michigan right after that mission and goes: "Jo, heard you guys have an open spot."
Good, now we're the longest living G13 that ever was
He wasn't even g13 yet lol after that mission he probably would've earned it because as we kill him he just wanted a callsign
Omg we're dumb
Nah. Tester AC pilot didn't have a callsign yet, remember? He was never G13
fun fact: When Michigan goes "They (Balam Cobalt Medal) go reaaaal far when you throw 'em" actually has some historical precedent as throwing away a medal (Common among American Vietnam War vets) is a sign that you extremely dislike the superiors who granted them said medal, implying that not even Michigan himself likes Balam's Executives
WOAH THATS FIRE LMAO
Considering he was hired on after a war with BALAM from the OPFOR...that really tracks
That's awesome! Michigan is the true gigachad of Rubicon.
Dude you blew my mind
This goes so hard
I would take a pro-corpo ending 100% of the time if it meant I could side with the Redguns
fun fact, first time i did that fight with Michigan (and actually managed to kill him) i had ran out of ammo and repair kits, and had to resort to kicking all the remaining MT's, i then proceeded to miss one of those ones equipped with a shield and shotgun and got fucking blasted at point blank and died.
Michigan really did give as good as he got.
I think the thing that stood out to me the most about Michigan is the fact he seems to be on a first name basis with many people who would normally just be nameless grunts, and can presumably recognize individuals through voice alone over radio, Michigan shows in every line in his fight: he cares about every single person under him despite his attitude. Any other character of his archetype I would expect to hear the line dissing Iguazu and for them to agree, but Michigan instantly comes to Iguazu's defense and praises him.
The deep loyalty and respect everyone in universe seems to have for Michigan is hard to miss, and it makes putting him down that much harder.
Michigan is AC6's resident Giga chad. he talks shit when it's fine, but only he can talk shit to people and will defend them if somebody else talks shit... like family!
I don’t know why but I’m so obsessed with “Intercept the Redguns” from a narrative standpoint. At this point, Balam Industries is completely screwed now that Arquebus Corporation possesses the scavenged PCA tech to drive them off-world, pretty much all the Redguns have either deserted or were killed off and many of the lesser grunts and MTs were wiped out by the Watchpoint’s defenses and mass desertions occurring and all G1 Michigan has left of his forces are his most fanatical MT squadrons taking on a pointless mission of trying to take down Raven and hopelessly charge through NEPENTHES.
But does he turn tail and run? No, he orders his soldiers to charge into battle against a single pilot of mass destruction (C4-621 Raven/V.IV Rusty) for a hopeless battle in the service of an uncaring corporation and dying senseless deaths on the battlefield, par for the course in the world of Armored Core. Sure, Michigan could’ve read the room and knew this to be a lost cause and joined the withdrawal from Rubicon 3 to face the wrath of Balam’s higher ups for his failure but he’ll be damned if he wasn’t going all in to “bag the big one” and take a shot at eliminating the Wall Climber, the Worm Killer and the only G13 who has lived this long.
Even when he dies, does his MT squadron break and try to flee? No, they assert that Michigan gave it his all, stand their ground and continue to fight. If 621 dies, Michigan wastes no time calling in relief teams to the front to tend to the wounded.
Even Handler Walter doesn’t sound ecstatic about killing Michigan off, simply telling 621 to get the job done. They must’ve known each other back on Jupiter when Walter was sent there as a boy before the Fires of Ibis erupted.
I’m almost reminded of Stannis Baratheon and his ill-fated March to Winterfell from Game of Thrones (TV Series only! Book Stannis is very different and much more successful). Forces depleted from mass desertions and facing overwhelming odds with no hope of victory but goes down fighting.
Goddamn, I so wish there was a route to side with Balam all the way, maybe a DLC or “AC6.1” game like For Answer and Verdict Day where we have more options to side with the other factions such as the PCA or BRANCH.
I'd would be super funny if there was a sort of sandbox mode after the true ending where you can do all sort of random things like giving Michigan an USB that shows how his operation gets screwed and crushed by Snail in every timeline so far.
Not like that would discourage him. But maybe then all those "destroy these PCA assets so ARCEBUS doesn't grab them" mission would actually lead to Snails sheming grinding to a halt and ARCEBUS becoming the punching bag of Rubicon.
I was really hoping for a Balam route, but sadly, they are always the butt of the joke. Hopefully, there will be one available in the future.
A shame there wasn't a Corporations route where Balam won.
Michigan alone justifies me siding with the Redguns.
I mean if you count Iguazu's ending, he's technically Balam? 😅
@@jjrobledo24he deserted and left his buddy Volta to die.
TBF, Michigan is probably the one and only corpo (a certain viva la resistance peep notwithstanding) in AC6 that actually cares about his people. I can safely say he's the only suit in a suit that I regret helping to acquaint with the scarred soil of Rubicon.
Vesper's Pater and Hawkins seem alright. Pater is nice to you and Walter all throughout the game. We really don't see much of Hawkins, but he hangs with Pater and seems to give off same polite and nice vibes
"you been given call sign g13, a lucky(/unlucky) number that's available"
0:52 *AFTER you killed the student pilot...who was assigned that name*
"Maggots! Do you read me? You can tell this to posterity... mean old MIchigan died of a bad fall!"
"G13... The curse... of the Redguns..."
I know their evil corpo dogs, but they got the bro spirit and i fux wit that
what makes fighting G6 Red even worse when he brings up Michigan being dead is that, you didn't actually fight him, you have to kill V.III O'Keefe to then unlock that alternate route that leads to you being able to encounter G6 Red.
I think some of the guns actually aren’t bad people. Actually I only think that about Michigan. I can’t say anything about Red. He never did us wrong. Michigan however was shown to be caring and always shows concern for those around him. He even uses pulse protection on his ac to shield others
red's basically like a fresh recruit, good natured and naive. nile we don't really get enough time with to get an idea. volta's a bit of an ass but seems like a decent guy under the tough guy act, going by the log on his wreck and how he acknowledges G13 can hold their own in the dam mission. iguazu is iguazu.
red tells us to join the red guns officially and climb their ranks because g13 is an unlucky position, according to balam at least
@@pocketinfinity6733 oh yeah I’d say that like allows you to qualify him as a “good guy”. I hate the way his story ends. Definitely didn’t deserve it
@@dumbsterdivesiguaza is a coward, a good pilot, but a coward.
Michigan seems like a good guy
Michigan was awesome, but he should have skipped that last field trip.
3:55 'i swear if he says my name....'
"G13!"
'Walter just deploy me already....'
AC6 really fucked up for not giving an ending for balam
Honestly a Balam-Arquebus power play dynamic would be cool to see to decide who would be the corporate baddie at the end.
Well, the corp themself are not much different from each other, the Red Guns are cool but at the end of the day, still corp's dogs, unless they are trying something grand like upstage it like Rusty to Arquebus, not much point in trading one set of chain for another, isn't it.
That said, Michigan is a baller and the game really missing out on giving the man more screen time, just hearing him talk give me life.
This is a spoiler if you hadn't read certain logs
It's implied that ALLMIND turned the odds in Arqebous' favor behind the scenes
@@apophis7712 would.be good of we could sabotage allmind's attempts in new game +++ after we did the coral release ending.
I think balambs ending is handled by you or rusty. I won't spoil the details if someone doesn't know.
Honestly I wish the whole game was centered around the red guns
They were a million times more likable then arquebus
Blame allmind.
he was the one who skewed everything in arquebus's favor
Rusty was the only cool Vesper
@@prisma9971 exactly.
That's the point. They have to die, that's why they're made more likable
3:33 that awkward moment when you join the discord call and the bois are discussing their plans of corporate espionage
Fun Fact, if you go down to help G6 Red, but don’t actually help him. He dies and has unique dialogue
621: *one shots 99% of all enemies on the mission*
redguns: *takes down one mech that was behind a building* "haha lol, look at this nerd, still a rookie and cant even keep up"
Humanity is found in the darnedest of places
the Red guns above all held my respect for this seeming family like bond between them. if i could side with Balam i would, because Balam has they're heads screwed on straight
Michigan was probly my favorite character in the whole game lol.
honestly I felt bad fighting the guns, honestly the most colorful guys, except iguasu, I didn't feel anything putting him out of his misery
"YOU'VE GOT BOOST POWER!!!"
I hate you only see freud and Michigan in like very specific missions like I wish they were easier to find and fight
It’s almost like their high value soldiers that only get deployed for necessary missions
Michigan, yes. Snail just uses Freud whenever he wishes
@@NaturalGarethFan more like just uses Freud when he doesn’t wanna risk himself
@@NaturalGarethFan Speaking of Freud he really is an oddball within the Vespers, I believe he's the only one who uses Balam's parts on his AC.
@@apophisstr6719 Rusty also uses several BAWS parts, but not Balam.
Michigan feels like a front mission character in Armored core and I have loved to be here for it
We need...no we must get a Balam/Redguns DLC!
I've always wondered if Gianni voices index Durham
At first I didn't like Michigan but I really grew to love the guy, especially compared to Snail, who absolutely deserves the name for being a slimy bastard.
Can I just point out that there theres no G8-12. We only see 1-6 in game and the wreck of G7 can be found in the first mission but as far as im aware theres no reference to any of the others
There would probably be more if G13s stopped dying
I want to say there are some unique ACs pictured in the briefing for the Depth 1 mission with redgun pattern paint when it gets mentioned that Balam already sent forces in, but that might just be me not looking too closely at the small pictures of them.
It kind of gives the impression that Balam is a smaller company than Arquebus because each numbered vesper is a leader of a squad, while the redguns is all one squad.
That being said, I wish I could save Michigan too. He's the only one that never spoke poorly of you, and he's definitely the person that raised or at least protected Walter after the fires of Ibis made him flee to Jupiter with Carla.
@@shanec9672V.IV Rusty would like a word with you
@@GrimmerMediawhat’s the song at 0:00
@@shanec9672I think Balam is actually the larger company but on Rubicon they are just flat unlucky. The PCA defense system shoots you out of the sky in airspace that seems to be Balam or RLF turf, which suggests they might have supply line issues, and their subsidiaries are more numerous but less loyal even selling to their direct opposition with the RLF all while the supply cashes they probably thought were available for them on Rubicon were long ago emptied by the RLF, and the Arquebus mechs seem to have more Balam associated parts than the other way around.
Then we even have their missions, 621 wrecks their newest mech, probably cannonically betrays them on his first mission with them, then they try for the wall only to get wrecked by the top defense systems and mechs that are products of their own company, and from there get ruined by the PCA all while thinking that Arquebus would take the more significant losses since Arquebus was taking the front line of that conflict.
Extra edit: also Balam actually thinks that lawyers and court cases could somehow win them a share of the profit, even with it's tarnished name and wealth Disney still can challenge entire states on legal issues, and has attempted to copyright the word "stormtrooper" and forcing anyone who used the term previously to them doing that to pay them royalties for all their previous uses of the word. (Sorry Germany you owe Disney for your use of Stormtrooper for your unique elite fighting forces of WW1). If Balam was the smaller Megacorp rather than say a near equal or larger, they'd be insane to think they could win a share of the profits through legal action, they might try to get reimbursed for the forces they lost, but trying to get the Coral via lawyers?
RIP G1 Michigan 🫡
He was a real one
It was one bad fall.
Tried to fly with the Raven, but he couldn't fly high enough.
Feels bad man
It's funny when he yells at you if you don't take the special gun against the Ice Worm.
Mad respect for the last song, Flanders Field by Sabaton
I love the thumbnail.
Ya know i thought the same way.
Yeah, these guys are likable. And they take care of their own.
But they're working for a Corp and following orders to the letter. Including killing innocent people on Rubicon. Hell, Iguazu even tells us about it in our first mission with them.
They always left me with a bad taste in my mouth, as if they were being fake. And it might just be my old raven tendencies talking. But I didn't feel too bad about showing Michigan the receiving end of my pile bunker.
Felt more bad that Walter didn't like it.
But only for a second. He didn't care for the people on Rubicon either. Just wanted to get what he wanted like any Corp in hindsight.
And since he's our "handler" I kinda feel like this mission was my personal middle finger to everyone that lays claim on on our characters life.
well he didnt like that we took the contract to kill Michigan anyway since if we are to dig around after the igniting the coral shenanigans michigan will pick 621 up was the "supposed" plan
Nobody cared about the people on Rubicon except for the people who lived there aka themselves that includes Ayre, the corporations want the Coral and will kill the RLF for getting in their way, Walter, Carla and those at Overseer just wanted to destroy the Coral for good to prevent it's use which just so happened to have the side effect of killing anyone on Rubicon.
It's not like the people could of been evacuated before Fires of Raven ending anyways, the PCA made sure of that with their lockdown which made it so the Rubiconians starved when they couldn't raise the mealworms like they used to thanks to the corporations hogging up the coral, even once the PCA was kicked out there was still the satellites that would shoot down any means of evacuation.
At this point in time, I'd imagine life in the galaxy is like Cyberpunk on steroids. Corporations are nations unto themselves. They do what they want, to who they want, where they want, when they want, and nobody can stop them. You can't fight corporations as a single person. You join or get left to the wayside, dying an unnoticed death on the sidelines, being converted into an AC pilot against your will, mind wiped, basically a meat puppet to be sent to the killing fields. This is a universe devoid of all but the faintest glimmer of hope which only barely exists on Rubicon which is the farthest fringe of human development. If this story would've taken place near Earth, there'd be no heros, no uprisings. The only reason the RLF, Rusty, or 621 can do what they do is because the corporations are so far away.
All this to illustrate that someone was gonna do it. And being part of a corporation, you either obey of your own volition or you get "re education" and then do it. Take your pick.
@@alastor8091 As far as we know Balam doesn't have reeducation centers like Arquebus but they do have prisons just the same as seen in the Prisoner Rescue mission and are at least brutal enough in their interrogations that it can kill a person (as RLF member Messam found out the hard way.)
It's unfortunate but the Rubiconians are in a bad place, being a good person isn't encouraged because the environment and people around them doesn't allow such a thing, as Walter said "where there's coral there's blood" so even if Walter has sympathies with the Rubiconians it wouldn't matter since people would continue to fight over the coral and the place can't be evacuated, those born on Rubicon or otherwise live there are going to die on Rubicon one way or another, the difference is whether it's in agony or in peace, whatever time allowed for peace that was bought with the Liberator of Rubicon ending anyways.
And that isn't going into the whole thing about coral being alive which is it's own debate, I'm a feels-good Liberator of Rubicon route guy but even I know it's hopelessly optimistic to believe the ending is anything besides being good for the short-term when the Corporations will inevitably return, however for the RLF and others the point is to try for an improvement anyways, it's a complicated situation where there is no right answer, there could never be a 100% correct choice in a reality like the one in AC 6.
You can be a likeable person hell even a 'good person' and still work for a group that does some bad things, ultimately the power goes to the higher up's who order things to get done, people like the Redguns just have to follow orders regardless of personal opinion, "It's just a job" and all.
@@DeadputI don't get people talking like the Liberator ending is some kind of unrealistic idealism when we literally just united and revitalized every Rubiconians to fight the good fight. The most important thing that anyone should take from the ending is that we gave them a chance to rise up and fight against oppression.
Not only are the corps devastated with them losing most of their good pilots, they also lost the majority of their foothold on Rubicon. Now they also have to deal with Raven as well as potential development with the Coral through Ayre.
Really, I think that people who dismisses the Liberator ending are actually too hopelessly pessimistic to really objectively view the situation.
