Not sure where all the hate is coming from, But S.U. sounds exceptional this year! I mean, there are no hang over's, no horns sticking out, not missing high notes...everyone is murking their part and subsequently the whole band is murking the compitition! #TPHIT

mont Mr. Simmons wrote a secondline version of the original O'Jays song for the New Orleans AllStar Alumni Band and when he became an assistant at SU he brought it with him.

I occasionally find myself on Southern videos..just the ones that sound good to me and 'Backstabbers' is one. Of course I'm a little bit biased because I rep #JSU til I'm dead and gone lol but I've grown to like just a few of Southern's selections. But anyway.. Good job on this one #SU ... #GoBoom. See y'all in Baton Rouge in September!
P.S. I'm from Jackson, obviously, and of course alot of us JSU folk hate playing a big rivalry game like this so early. Doesnt normally build that suspense if its early than it does it October. SU!! What y'all think?
Quinton Knight Yeah I agree, Im a BR native. For awhile it was some talk about holding the game in Jackson every year and then it happened for a while. We enjoy coming that way, the staduim is nice and its not too far of a drive. We like our stadium too but yall's can hold the amount of people thats going to show up from near and far just to be at the best HBCU game of the year besides bayou classic or Circle City but ya know the powers that be couldnt get along to keep it going, too many politics on both sides and having it in Oct like its been for so many years is much better, dont know why they started holding it so early. 2000 was the first time it was in september, at the superdome, it was cool but I dont like the indoor sound for two bands that have so much power and volume....The only problem with Jacktown was for yall to quit towing our cars! LOL...Ya'll know Half of baton rouge and La coming every year so just let us get in where we can fit for the day and night as long as we not blocking any Intersections, Hospital entrances/exits or Fire lanes...lol
loulou3t I know man. I agree. I hate the fact that whenever its a big game that's going to attract a huge crowd, like SU, its always hard to accommodate 9/10's of Louisiana (lol) when its only 20 parking spots. We enjoy hosting y'all as well because the city always seem to turn up a notch whenever y'all come. About the towing cars? Man, we struggle through the same thing lol. I would say try to car pool as much as y'all can because that is bad until we get our OWN stadium. As far as the game goes, it's not the same. Both teams and bands have to mesh together for it become an intensified rivalry like it is in October.
I agree, Hell they can make it the second to last game of the season to let the Jukebox and Boom reach their MAX potential as far as Im concerned... but off topic where yall turnup at out there besides nightlyfe on weekends?
