How to Make a Classic Leather Envelope Wallet
The Leather Envelope Wallet is a leather crafting staple. It's a nice little twist on a card wallet, using two pieces of leather to create the illusion that the wallet is folded up and sewn together. For our version, we use two overlapping pieces of leather to add rigidity and hide the back of the snap hardware for a nice smooth card pocket - it's a great piece to make for gifts, and it sells really well at craft fairs and markets!

I made something like this a few months ago for my wife to put her car registration in, but it took me hourrssss to design it (i'm very new to leathercraft lol). I wish that I had procrastinated until today. 😂 awesome video!
ALWAYS INCREDIBLE WORK. THANKS FOR SHARING, KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT JOB 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Nice…love the color choice ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I just got my first leatherwork kit and you guys are the most helpful account ever. I just bought some patterns from you yesterday I’ll have to make a second order for this!
Nice. Simple. I like.
Amazing craftsmanship
Very cool project, Eric!
Great gift ideas can you do it in different sizes
Always easy to follow 👌
Eric: How about an update on all the tools you have in process. I am so looking forward to the brass #2 blade holder.
I love Corter Leather and their patterns. I have used several of them and they are excellent. However this one is flawed. It is too narrow to fit more than one business card. The width needs to be increased by about 1/2" (12mm) or so. Otherwise the width after stitching on a 4mm margin turns out to be exactly the width of a normal US business card. More than one does not fit or fits very tightly and removal is difficult. I may be confused and this is a pouch for credit cards, in which case it's a good size. In any case, I love Corter Leather and their patterns. Just wanted to give heads up to those trying to make a business card holder with this pattern.
Very nice. Thanks for sharing the pattern. I saw on instagram another coin card wallet you were doing. Now that is a smoking hot design. Will you be offering that pattern in the near future?
@Corter Leather - Great design, I have some football leather and was working on a similar design
I need to get 5mm stitching chisels are your irons going to be diamond or french? I am getting ready to purchase a set of Sinabroks and wondering what you are designing.
A blockbuster card? ✨
Muito bom 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏🇧🇷🇧🇷👊
This is the one pattern that I can't wrap my head around whilst designing. Now that I have seen how you've made them, i think i can make a classic clutch out of this design. Any chance to produce your classic old video without narrative? I miss those videos. Maybe once a month or two? 🤭🤭
Will you be doing a pattern of the one with the pocket on the back you just done?
Awesome job. I'm also doing handmade. ^^))
When are coming out with the chisels ? What kind are they???
Great Job..wanna buy pls
Hmmm....I've got a bunch of veg tan kangaroo, about 0.8 to 1 mm thick. Think I should line it?
Never mind, I answered my own question, thanks! :) (The answer is no, no need to line, granted the snap can be a little tricky.)
Is this pattern for business cards or credit cards or are they about the same?
Is there a book or a chart that I can access that will tell me what thickness of leather is best when making certain types of projects? I am a total newbie.
@@bethmcmullan7686 Thank you so much. This is so helpful. I am only going to be making things for my husband and myself but I still want to do it right.
Do you sell these?
What stitching chisel are you using?
I’d guess the ones he’s developing with Buckleguy
If not those, then Crimson Hides stitching chisels
I wish Buckley would get more horween shoulders.
👍👍
