Thanks for sharing your storage for the Oxides. Have a good week.
I love the idea of the coin pockets since the 2x2 SNAP pocket pages are no longer available.
I have the 2x2 coin pages that I store my oxide foams in. I have my ink swatches in separate coin pages. It has worked so great for me and I love having them handy and I just put them on a binder ring and hang it off the side of my desk. I have all the mini distress ink pads so I just put the foams in the bottom of those like you do.
Wonderful I store my colored die cut pieces in those same pockets so I already have some on hand.
Organized, practical, and real pretty too. I love seeing all the colours laid out per page. Very satisfying. Thank you.
I have mine on 2 laminated A4 sheets with their names on and with velcro dots for each of them to stick to. I velcro the sheets to the side of the wall unit where I keep my inks. When I want to use them all I take the sheets off the unit and put them on the desk as a pallet
Loved the video and the idea. Now will have to go out and look for the pouches.
Thanks Amy... I love this idea.
Amy, Amy, Amy!! Thank you so much for sharing this storage tip! I bought one of the Snap Simple Stories binders and the 2x2 pocket pages a few months ago and finally decided to quit being lazy and set up my binder. I love it!! Unfortunately, my label maker ran out of labels and now I have to wait to finish it. 😜 But it looks great! I don't have many of the distress oxide inks (yet!), but look forward to using this storage system. Thank you again for sharing this idea and for sharing your many beautiful cards with all of us. 😊❤
Great storage option. I use those dollar tree boxes that they are swapping as embellishment boxes and they fit perfectly! I have like 30 of the original tools, but only 6 of the little round. I buy them from time to time, but I still use my originals, especially for bigger areas or areas I need a deeper blend. TFS :)
Ps... I remember your first purchase of Distress ink at your local store and you were unsure if you would even like it. If we only knew way back when LOL
I actually was given some Distress Ink pads years and years ago and they sat in a drawer for years b/c I didn't like them and didn't see the point of them. So funny b/c both the Distress and Distress Oxides are my most reached for inks now lol
Prairie Paper & Ink (AmyR) My first ink love was alcohol inks and it's funny that roughly 10 years later they are making a huge come back! My inks are still good too! :)
yep they'd be fine - and yes a huge comeback - Rangers had a hard time keeping up with demand lol - it's fun tho b/c now there's more fun colors and products that we didn't have back then to use them with
Thanks for the tips. I have laminated A4 colour charts with velcro circles velcroed to my wall units holding the foam. I take them off the wall and put them on my table when I am using them
Amy, I know this is an older post on blending sponge storage. So happy I saw it on the SSS tumbling hearts stencil card video you were about to make Feb28th? Anywho, you mentioned there was a vid on storing your blending sponges. I did color swatches like that, and now Im going to do your great sponge storage idea as well. Thanks for sharing this. Love it.
Sound advice, all of it. One thing you were doing but didn't comment on, is that it's a good idea to keep a finger on the Velcro bit on the handle. With the old handles it was all too easy to rip it off to the point where Tim Holtz made a video saying just that. I haven't done it with the minis but then again I always hold it down. Somewhat off topic, however, a useful note.
I've never had an issue with the velcro since the mini round size was released - sure it pulls up a bit but the staples they've used to hold it to the handle have held secure for me for years now that's why I've never mentioned it
@@PrairiePaperandInk You showed that you actually did put a finger from your other hand on the velcro both times you showed it - just automatic at this point probably. :)
Your idea is good. I like mine as well. I went to Ranger website and printed out the chart for the Oxides. Laminated the chart (but page protector would work too). Bought Velcro at JoAnn’s (using coupon). Attached the Velcro to the laminated sheet. Then I put blending sponges to the respective colors. I may have to do some juggling with the new colors cuze I haven’t looked at the Ranger site yet with his ones just released. keep the sheets Velcroed to my wall by my ink storage. I do have a large binder for all my ink swatches but have not yet done my Oxides. Since I use Bristol the most, they r all swatched on it. Think I’ll put my swatches on a ring like Tim Holtz does and hang near my sponges. I have 6 handles for Distress. I have handles for ALL the Dylusions paints I keep on a revolving blending tool holder 3 racks high (bought at Tuesday Morning about 12 mo ago). Thanks for sharing your idea.
I just love you! I stole your idea for Oxide ink sponge storage after the very first time you mentioned it and I am loving it! I can’t stand for my pads to not stack properly and I didn’t like that ink got everywhere when I tried storing them on the bottom. Inky fingers make me happy so pulling the sponges from the small pockets doesn’t bother me. Plus, like you said, it’s just cute! TFS, sweets!
I LOVE your mini foam swatch binder. What a great idea! It looks like it keeps the sponges neat and tidy. Thank you for making the video to share with us.
Great idea - and I already have everything to do it!
Thanks for taking the time to share this with us! I really like this idea, but for now, I just stick mine to the bottoms with velcro.
Thanks, Amy. Good info. I have mine with velcro and I have ink all over. I’ll be switching them up.
Very cool. Thanks for sharing this. I have mine velcroed, but I hate the mess it creates on the lids when stacked. This is much better.
I store my blending pads in a notebook as well, but I use heavy cardstock with pieces of the hook side of velcro glued on. If you worry about color transfer just place a cheap page protector between each page. This works great for me as I don't have to struggle with little pockets!
Robin Schaefer I store my foams similarly..mine are on Velcro pieces on cardstock, inside a large plastic box. I can fit 24 in each box. So I'll need three boxes for the 60 colors.
It really works great doesn't it? I know that I have had a hard time finding the plastic pockets with all the small pockets and I would think you would end up with more ink on your fingers trying to maneuver those foams in the little pockets...lol. I am amazed at all the different ways people come up with to store supplies...I so appreciate having choices, as when you've been an artist/crafter as long as I have, you start running out of room! lol (does that mean I'll stop buying stuff?.....nope. I'm crowded, not crazy...lol)
Thank you sooo much for commenting! I was just about to try her idea but I was worried about ink getting everywhere. I think I'm going to try velcro on the backs of me ink swatches instead, right on the coin sleeves. That way everything is together and I can put a piece of paper (easily changed out) facing the pads to keep them neat. Thanks again!
Great idea Amy, looks like it works well x
AWESOME idea for story the blending pads! LOVED your video too!!
That’s a neat idea..thanks for the tips...one thing I might add is I used a different brand of foam NO Tim Holtz brand..the foams fell apart in no time so Tim’s are the best.
yeah I've never tried other brands (wasn't even aware till more recently that there were other ones lol) but I prefer and promote the Tim Holtz/Distress/Ranger line overall!! :)
I love your idea for storing your foams! So easy to see what you have!
What a great idea, definitely give it a try!
Love this storage idea for the Oxides! I'm doing this!
I used ro keep my foams on a thick cardboard piece on my wall with lil pieces of velcro with the names labeled. So they were hung up on my wall. Then I switched to the coin slots, same as you. Less wear n tear on the backing this way. 👍
This is such a great idea !! I love the oxide inks, but my ink pads were just in a case floating around. I love this idea, getting them in order !! Thank you !!!
Amy, this is the answer I've been looking for! Amazing, I put you on pause to get mine on order. Thanks!
Very creative way of storing your sponges!
Thank you for sharing your organization ideas with us!!! I will make sure to have different foams for the Distress and Oxide.
Thanks for the tips. It's always nice to see how someone else does something. I really need to do something like this.
Thanks for this. I have lots of supplies and I love to be organized even if I'm mainly a collector of stuff.
Great storage idea!! Cute binder.
What a great Idea, I was putting mine in small zip lock bags... but your way is a lot better. Thanks
Love this idea! Thanks for sharing.
😃 YAY! Thanks Amy!! Love me some great organization!
This is a great way to store them. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the organization of the Distress Oxides. Jeannine
Awesome organisation- love your vids! You inspire me heaps! Cxx😘
Always love a great idea for ink organization! :) TFS girlie!
Nice job!!! Love the binder!!!
Thanks for the tips and I will doing some of those when I get the funds. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful week.
Thank you for the awesome add vice now I now how to store my sponges for my mini inks the Distress oxide is my next collection I’ll by them a bit at a time love the new colour range 😊😘 can’t wait too see what you make with the new card kit yay 😁
What a great idea I’m going to try this for mine, thanks for sharing xx
What an awesome idea!! Thanks so much for sharing it. 😊
Awesome video and storage. tfs
Great info. Good to have all the info in one place
Thank you for showing this. I'm just getting started and really appreciate ideas for everything! I saw this over on the tumbling hearts video and am so glad I did. :)
Thanks for sharing! I was struggling with ideas for foam storage.
Thanks for all the inspiration
I found some old October Afternoon 6"x8" page protectors & used your method, a part from the inky fingers, it worked great! Thank you for the video.
A very informative video Amy, all good advice and ideas. Thanks for sharing it.
Thanks Amy!
Thanks Amy, lots of good information. The binder and inset pages are reasonably priced, I might have to add them to my next SSS order ha ha! Right now I keep the foams taped to the bottom of the ink pad and am not happy with that storage method.
Great idea! Thank you for sharing this!
Great tips Amy! Love this idea. I keep my sponge tops in an old Ferrero Roche chocolate plastic box. The circle area the chocolate sat in are the same size as the sponges. Only thing is there is not much room for a label. Working on a trick now.
What a great idea! Perhaps swatches could be stored, with the blending pad behind.
Great idea!!! I was going to use Velcro on the back but it just didn't work in my option. Love this idea!!! Thanks.
love love love this idea thanks for sharing
Love oxides - love your ideas
Love this idea!
Love this idea! Thanks!
Great info. I’m going to try this thanks
This was awesome. Thank you for sharing your storage tips and tips on labeling your inks. :)
Why not put a swatch on the backside of each pocket (inside the pocket) facing out. You already have the pocket marked with the color, just a small square of cardstock would do it.
Thanks for this video. This finally got me to take out these pockets from my stash and create a foam storage. Now I only need to do the swatches as well 🤣😂
I'm getting my house ready for a move ,but I will do this when I unpack my craft room. 😀
Very useful video. Thank you.
I use Velcro for mine and it works great! I also glued the Velcro to the blending tool (multi medium matte) so it doesn’t pull when I remove the foam.
Great video, awesome idea - thank you
Great idea! Thanks!
Got to do it! Thanks!
This is a great idea! I squealed when I saw this on your IG page! I have the page protectors coming, but I'm weird and I couldn't find a binder to match my craft room décor on Amazon so I'll be heading to JoAnn's or HL to see if I can find something "appropriate"! lol
Thanks for sharing :-)
Interesting video. Thanks for sharing.
Great tips and I think I'm going to implement this myself. When you were talking about ink swatching I was thinking if you make 2x2 swatches you could actually slip them just behind the sponges so you would have the visual right there and not have to have more pages. Also love the little heart punched color swatches. I'm going to do that, too!
I said in the video that I don't want my swatches and sponges together b/c they'll just get covered in ink - but it's all up to personal preference :)
Great idea Amy, I have Velcro on the base of each but as you say they don’t stack.... off to get a binder...xx
Great idea to store your inkers foam pads
Great idea. I’m going to do that as soon as I can. Thank you. Hugs.
Thanks for sharing!
This sounds like it may work for me. I have struggled with foam storage also. I made a storage us it for my ink pads and they don’t fit with the foam stored underneath. Plus, ink gets everywhere like you said. Thank you for this video. Good idea!!!
Clever idea!
What a great idea !!!!
Brilliant!
Love that idea I don’t have a lot of them bot I am going to use your idea thank you
Great video. Thanks so much. Carmen
I liked it so much I ordered them lol
I am so copying this. Luv this idea. Ordering my stuff now, this will be my weekend project. Have to get the new set of oxides now. I share your "full set affliction " ;-)
Thank you for sharing :) This is great
Thanks for sharing an awesome idea!!! I currently have mine attached with velcro but like you said, they topple over and make a mess. I’m going to try your way. 😊
yep I got tired of the mess I was making and ink pads toppling over CONSTANTLY that I switched over to this and it's so much better!
I have most of the regular distress ink full pads and I bought a handle for each one. I do need a couple more. I thought it was a bit crazy but I just keep them in a box with the color on the handle. I decided to only use three handles for the oxides and have a foam for each. I used some plastic and put a little piece of Velcro for each foam pad and labeled it underneath, similar to yours but no pockets. What a mess! My fingers get so messy as the ink never seems to dry. I might change everything and use all my handles for the oxides and just a few for the regulars. That ink seems to dry way faster. I don't mind getting inky but I have to try so hard not to get my project dirty.
Thank you for your video.
Great ideas. . Thanks
Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the idea. I currently have mine attached with velcro on the bottom, but I hate the mess it creates on the lids when stacked.
it'll also get ink on your surfaces even without stacking - Oxide ink is wonderful and I love it and love using it but it tends to get everywhere if you're not careful lol
Boom! Pages are gone already!! (sigh)... Well, I love this way to store the foams, and thank you so much for sharing this idea! I'll be good. I'll be patient, and I'll wait for the pages to come back in again. Looking forward to getting new colors too! ~tina
just make sure to click on the notification to get an e-mail when they're back in stock. They were already sold out before I posted this video but I wanted to get it up in a timely manner!!
Prairie Paper & Ink (AmyR) Already done... Thanks again! 😊👍💗
Thank you for this video! :)
I also store my distress oxide blending pads like this, probably because I saw it in your stuff. Lol
Very helpful
