- This is a low optimization tool assisted demonstration made by Tharo that aims to beat all of the dungeons only as child. This has been a longtime goal for glitch hunters to be able to beat all of the dungeons as child, and recent developments finally made it possible, resulting in this run.

These runs have gotten to the point where, I get shocked each time they open a chest and it has the correct item in it.

I used to work with a 81まばボtKH, actually. I dunno, he seemed kind of uptight. I never learned how to pronounce his name right - he kept insisting it was "ばボ", not "babo". I don't know. Sounded the same to me. One time, I invited him out for drinks with some friends, but they kicked us out for trying to buy alcohol for a minor. They didn't care about his ID at all. Rude as hell.

So let me get this straight, you can insert your own code into the game to give this hyperactive goblin child moon-boots, use some blue light to teleport yourself halfway across the world and catch bugs in a bottle to give yourself explosives all with no crashes. but the second a single blue speck appears on Darunia's nose the game just can't handle it? Nothing about oot makes sense anymore and I absolutely love it.

Another yearly LOTAD. In this edition, Keto, after seeing so many LOTADs, begins to deconstruct the very fundamental construction of an OoT LOTAD, and the LOTAD itself deconstructs back. Skipping a cutscene to watch it minutes later, hovering over rocks that can be destroyed with those same explosions. What is the point of doing all dungeons as a child? This video is already positioned to be the greatest piece of postmodern art this decade.

I find it kind of convenient Mirror Shield as Child actually behaves as a useful shield and not like Hylian as Child.
This is a pretty good LOTAD, but you should consider evolving it into a LOMBRE or a LUDICOLO, they have better stats

As someone who has been following OoT glitches/speedrunning for years (and at one point made one of these ZFG-streamed LOTADs, myself) this one had by far the highest concentration of things I've never seen before, and the movement choices had my jaw dropping. Bravo to Tharo!

LMAO watching this when it was posted must have been absolutely mindboggling, but watching this now is almost nostalgic haha. like, i wasnt sure where it was going, but when it got to zelda's letter gim i was like "awww, i remember that, that's so cute" haha. like im watching this after watching the modern-day all-dungeons, which is child only anyway, because of srm. seeing this like very early srm route that i just didnt even know existed on youtube until right now is great.
edit: oh wow, i am very surprised about f boots (or "boots value f") being in this though, i didnt think that was known about in february 2020 yet. the setup was different than the one that ended up being used in hundo, so the iconic blue tunic isnt used haha, but still
this run really is like a glimpse into the era during the transition between pre- and post-srm oot lol. this run is the missing link

Man almost every time Tharo spoke, he *really* needed to keep his push-to-talk button held down for another second or so, or if not using PTT adjusted his gate a bit. Every time he spoke the last part of his statement just gets cut off.
Normally i'd complain about casual use of ACE but those hover boots make things way more interesting.
Watching OOT after years of only really doing MM made me realize just how irritating Navi really is with their voice lines.

Not sure it was mentioned - what were the F-boots required for? Was it the boatskipesque routing to Bongo Bongo?
I'm pretty sure it was for getting in the precise locations, in either ice or water, to place Farore's wind to set up the wrong warp to sprit
does "low optimization" mean "getting everything first try but not 100% flawless/perfect" ? if not i dont get it
Low optimization is he is still doing set ups and not always manipulating the rng to be perfect for every situation. Things that could easily shave minutes off of the run but would take him many more hours to accomplish.

I was able to beat Bongo, Morpha, and Phantom Ganon as child link with no mods or srm. Next goal is volvagia.

Am I just stupid? If I don't understand something in one of these runs and I read over 3 different descriptions of how a certain trick is done and I still don't get it. The ACE manipulation is the most headache inducing thing yet. Yes I get that you can write code into the game with it. My question is how, and why the frick does editing loading zone actors and items affect this. Nobody has explained this to me. But then again maybe nobody knows the answer because it's one of those "idk, those japanese programmers did some weird programming that allows this crazy stuff to happen if we manipulate like so. We don't know why it's done this way but it just is" moments
When link grabs something, the game sees it as "link is holding something at [some place in memory]'. To give the illusion of link carrying the object, the game starts modifying some values a few spots down from [some place in memory] which correspond to position and angle. When you do SRM, after you've done SRM and you've unloaded the area where you initially picked up the object, the game still sees link holding something at [some place in memory] and continues changing values that it things are position/angle, but something else completely different is now loaded in that spot in memory. So the reason why the way other things are loaded affects this, is because what you grab has to exactly line up with what you'll be modifying later on.
