- Hope you enjoy this haul. On reviewing the vídeo I noticed that my mouth worked quicker than my brain...so I apologize with a few corrections. 1st on the mayfair líd...i stated the knob on original was an eight síded knob, which is correct, 4 sides on bottom and 4 on top not eight on top. Also it appears obvious the vase is a vase and not a pichter lol..AND the colors of the original mayfair DID NOT come in amythest, red or colbalt...these were repro colors.....ugh...again my apologies. Hello Michele from our farm in New Hampshire! New to your channel. I found you while searching for jadeite sites. We are a working farm in Central Lakes Region. Our farm is third generation, a page out of 1940!
My husband and I built our cottage at the base of the family farm. From the outside it is an unassuming structure, however, I am recreating my grandmother Hazel's 1935 country craftsmen style home on the inside. We have a 1930 Home Comfort kitchen wood stove, a 1924 oak Hoosier, a 1900s Faultless treadle sewing machine. All have been restored. Also a 1908 Griswold waffle iron and other pieces to use on the wood stove. I love the painted cast iron door stops.
I have started to collect vintage and reproduction Jadeite. Just the basic pieces, like S&P/ butter dish, etc. My friend and I are going to visit local flea markets and yard sales this summer with a list. I want to look for covered candy dishes, either with bunny or chicken covers. This will be a fun way to starting getting off the farm in a safe manner. I inherited those Fire King mixing bowls (white though, not Jadite), all 3 of them and still using them so much. They are the best! And thanks for teaching me the origin of the vaseline juicer! I’ve always loved depression glass. My great grandparents always used it and it reminds me of them. I have some in the pink. Your table is so festive! I haven’t done anything other than put up a wreath so far!

Great finds. Of course, my favorites were all of the Jadeite. I have so much Jadeite; but, it is hard not to pick up a deal when I come across one. My favorite Jadeite pattern is Jane Ray.

Pick gene florence books if you find them. I have found a few at the goodwill. Love his books he loved depression glass had alot of knowledge

Thanks for the tips for spotting the repros. It always scares me. I think it was Jeffrey at Real Nifty Vintage that did a video in a warehouse full off knockoffs. I was floored that so much was copied and remade. Have a Merry Christmas! Your table is lovely!

I just love depression -ware and carnival glass 😍 The poinsettia, and cherry blossom patterns are some of my favorites. Thank you for the tips on spotting the re-pros. I didn't know vaseline glass and uranium glass were the same thing 🤦 lol That was a really good idea on using that divided dish as a vanity dish. The table display is beautiful! My back is still in agony from Sunday, that's the last time I go on an excursion like that without my wheelchair lol Wishing you a great day ❤

Undead Ondine Vaseline glass is more yellow than green uranium glass. Please watch Scott from the Old Curiosity Shop’s video on spotting the difference.
they are both uranium glass Amy...Vaseline is a nickname for uranium glass..that is the only difference..You can ask Scott :)
According to me what I know from good sources, although vaseline glass Is uranium glass, uranium glass is not synonymous with vaseline glass. Vaseline glass is yellow in color, like vaseline.

Love depression uranium glass, particularly green. I'm trying to get a complete service for 8, but may have to mix colors. I don't mind. Love everything you hauled today. Today I found 4 Otagiri Christmas mugs, 2 patterns, a pair of each. I paid 40 cents each, well 44 cents each including tax. They are beautiful. Don't know what I will do with them. Merry Christmas.

Hi Michelle, Mayfair was not made in amethyst or cobalt originally. The original colors were ice blue, pink, some green, yellow and crystal. Any thing in amethyst, cobalt, or red is a reproduction. This information is available in Florence's depression glass books. David

The vase that you said you never heard of the manufacturer is the same shape and design as a vase in the Jeanette Shell Pink Milk Glass collection. I thought that's who you were going to say it was from.

No, regular depression glass is not ovenproof!!!
i dunno what you consider perfect condition but that uranium glass bowl with the lid towards the end ofv the video is not in perfect condition, the lid is chipped on the edge and has a giant crack through it
I just wish these companies wouldn't reproduce glass wear, it really devalues the old glass wear when they flood the market. Such Beautiful glassware, I love it.
Agreed...even though some of it is old already (1970's) lol, but the repros are never as lovely as the originals...I not only brings the prices down, but sometimes you can get fooled! Thank you...I have been admiring the colors on my table all nite...xo :)

Loved the way you set your holiday table.
But it was in that segment that I realized that you shared your most valuable lesson with me (us). So profound a statement, that for as long as I live, whenever I follow that bit of advice, I will not only remember where I learned it from, but I will clearly see you as you sat at your holiday table.
For as long as I live, I'll never forget to switch- out the ones with the stickers on them with the ones that don't, before they get eaten on.
