These movies bring me back to my childhood. I’m a ‘95 baby but my father loved Jerry Lewis, Dean Martin, Gene Kelly and many more. He was born in Honduras ‘49 and eventually made it to the states to join the Army. He must’ve been exposed to a lot in his time! When he had all his kids he shared these gems with us. It’s rare to be able to find someone to share and enjoy these films with. I feel the contrast in what we consume today VS. back then and it always makes me feel out of place in my time!
I totally agree. Jerry was genius at his craft & brought out Dean's talent to the screen as well. Jerry did alot of the work & Dean depended on Jerry to do that. Although I did love them both.
Cool, that would be great! I often use that part, when explaining to people how frustrated I feel, when I get real busy! It would be nice to SHOW it to them instead of explaining it. LOL. Plus it's very funny. If you post it, comment back here, so I know.
I know the point of the movie is to be silly and have no story but I can’t help but to find a deeper meaning in this scene. Because it seems like Stanley‘s dream job was to be an orchestra master, and the whole empty instruments and aplauds were probably coming from his head. He has talent but he’s stuck in this hotel... Or maybe he was just messing around and having fun, I choose this one😁🤪
@AlwayzKickinIt Dear Al., Could you show or point me to, the sceen in the Jerry Lewis movie where a fortune in money and coins, falls from the trunk of a tree, which Jerry leans on, at the end of the movie? please. . I remember this from my childhood and have not seen on You-Tube a copy of it. . I don't know why I remember this scene. Cheers. from, del-boy
Why are people laughing at this? He's playing the role of a mentally handicapped person and you all are laughing at him due to it.. Do you normally laugh at disabled people?
Why don't you take that up with Jerry, hmm? He wrote a lot of this. Its meant to be funny. Anyway, the point of the movie is that you never know something about someone unless you ask. He doesn't talk in the film until the end. He's quiet. He does what he's told. That doesn't mean he's handicapped. A person can be non-verbal without being handicapped. I don't know where you got that idea...
bio2020 - Have you watched the movie in its entirety? He is most definitely not playing a person with a handicap. You learn at the end of the movie why his character hadn't spoken, but as the producer and director, as well as the star, he is also showing his true genius, as he didn't need to speak for the audience to understand; nor to be hilariously funny.
WTF are you TALKING about Jerry is NOT playing that role you nut case he's showing you his genius and doing something different and if you watch the movie he does talk near the end and also plays as himself in a 2nd role..his genius and playing a new kind of role past you by..Jerry just showed that some people just don't understand him..He did the MD Telethon and raised Billions of dollars..He would never do a role about somebody being handicapped and take advantage of it to make $$..shame on you..Jerry King of Comedy..!!!!
Dave Stonehill, but you are in love with him! You watch every video of him! I can understand though! Jerry Lewis was not only a magnificent performer, but also a very sexy guy! I see why you like him ;) That's okay! We don't judge you
@@vikings844 Exactly Jerry was a damn genius! Dave Stonehill is one of those youtube people who set up a profile just to post those type of comments! Lol he thinks that Jerry is not funny, but his name his under EVERY jerry's video! ..

Worthy of Charlie Chaplin.
The final, in dim light, with the applause of an audience that does not physically exist, is pure poetry.
a true legend. Making people cry tears of laughter without uttering a single word.
This is one of my favorite scenes. I love The Bellboy. Such a funny movie.
Jerry lewis was a master at sight gags and his humorous mannerisms in his films are iconic

This is great. Jerry is a great conductor for sure but Bugs Bunny's musicianship and interpretations are better

Clever scene but NOT FUNNY. Jerry Lewis is never funny. That is the problem.
