As a student who sometimes has to pass documents around between friends, I really need this "dated" USB Type-A port.
USB Type-C would be a huge hassle for me since virtually no one I know owns a Type-C USB drive.
A second port however would be a welcome addition.
Sowande Brown-Lawson Then do some actual research on the port
and the fact that is reversible makes it underrated no matter how much praise it receives. i have one device with usb-c and now i hate all my other devices for having to rotate 20 times to connect with my pc
there are very few things you need a connector to have, and ease of use is one of them. i honestly dont understand why not all non reversible connectors have not died in fire years ago, do people love to make a simple task a struggle?
How bout the fact that one adapter can run 3 USB 3 type A ports, Ethernet, and an HDMI? Yes it is a dongle, but until everyone adopts the new, better standard we gotta live with it.
Sowande Brown-Lawson Sorry man I have to agree with the other guy here. It totally would have been faster to google "benefits of USB type C", and find the results from a more reliable (and quicker!) place then the comment section youtube.
Because it is the most universal port to date, on top of what usb can already do usb c can also directly output video, deliver power to devices, act as a pci lane all while being smaller (which allows for devices that utilize usb ports to be made thinner) and being reversible.
90% of the comments are complaints about the fake nails.
yup
Haha, yeah she should have them one by a pro before filming. with 1.2M views, I am sure they can afford it.
He has always been wrong about the Surface Pro. It is a killer device, and you can do a hell of a lot more on it than he suggests you can. Way, way more than an iPad Pro could ever dream of doing.
Yeah but the iPad Pro is better for drawing . Which means if you're an artist and you're buying it to do digital drawing the iPads better. If you need a desktop or laptop replacement I'd go with the surface.
@@orlfane1622 Yes except it lacks a desired 2 usb ports for keyboard and mouse.
@Brandon S Not looking for a debate. just asking for myself as i'm interested of what apps apart from krita, concepts, and affinity photo, photoshop are good to use to draw on the surface vs the ipad pro. i personally use an ipad pro with affinity photo due to the ability to use layers and easy import export to the desktop version and photoshop file format. would you recommend getting a surface pro or sticking to my current layout? if so, what benefits do i gain?
not anymore
@@orlfane1622 I'm curious I know this is an old comment thread, but what software do you usually draw with?
I hate to say this, but keeping the "old" usb type A port is some what a big deal for most consumer simply because 99% of the peripherals are still using usb type A. I personally hate apple in their latest "innovations" because you consistently have to buy extra hardware to plugin any device. Yes type-c is smaller, I get that. It doesn't make the product more user-friendly or space saver. Specially if you have to put in extra cables in your bag. I would agree that replacing the mini-display port for a thunderbolt would defenetely be I great addition to the device. What is your opinion on that linus ?
poo poopoop
I own a Surface Pro 4 i5/256GB/8GB and it's killer. It can play some games at surprising frames. I really do wish it had a thunderbolt port on it so a GPU could be hooked up to it. With that, Microsoft could pretty much call it "The tablet that can replace your gaming laptop."
Brett Butcher I'm not gonna be surprised if they'll release a model for gamers, a 16:9 surface product and a dedicated GPU.
Or The Tablet that can replace your console! looking at you switch in docked and kickstand mode. Skyrim at 900p on the go with a mouse or controller is still a blast.
I doubt it will be that easy, unfortunately... First reason is their current gaming solutions: with the ton of resources and time Microsoft takes for Xbox and everything else related to that title, I doubt they will want to overshadow their own product. Second reason is supply/demand: Even if they do this, it will not exactly be cheap, considering the need for an eGPU and a system that efficiently connects it to the Surface. I suspect it would go for at least the prices of high end Surface Books, which most people would not want to invest in (even though our little game and power-hungry bunch do!), which in turn would make Microsoft not push a product like that to the market in the first place. One can dream though...
Not a Thunderbold , a PCI Port ! (And an 8 and 6 Pin )
I bought for a year now, it's perfect for college, and the battery life just amazing...
Footage of typing with those huge nails makes me anxious...
huge *fake nails.
huge fake *gross nails.
I became considerably more angry watching that shit.
I think you need to get out more...meet some real girls.
why?
I'm watching this video on my i5 8GB RAM Surface Pro 4, which I have owned for about a year and a half now, and it has lasted me fully and perfectly for everything from light media consumption to actual college work. I absolutely love it and have never regretted the choice from the day I got it, even for original pricing. The keyboard is absolutely amazing, and I have it hooked up to the dock as well so I can run it as a full monitor set-up.
I have the surface pro 4 and right now I'm watching this on it. I find it great and so great for school. it is fantastic and I recommend it for people who aren't completely controlled by Apple.
Lauren D'Agostino which version have you got?
Omg haha would you recommend it for university students? I’m going to college next year, and I was going to get the new MacBook bc my family is completely controlled by Apple, but I noticed this laptop and it seems really cool to have
Does it lag when u play roblox jailbreak
Momo Yaoyorozu Apple Still rules on quality that lasts long as well as battery life dude.
Hari Vyas I wouldn't say much on the quality though...

What's going on at 4:55?
Mihai Tataru yeah it is kind of weird and not necessary
Alejandro Coronas it is very necessary you soccer mom
I'll tell you when you're older.
Mihai Tataru I'm guessing outtake
LimitedWard I mean it's just weird. Not that I don't actually know what is he doing.
I have yet to use Type C it. My phone, USB's(15), external HDD's(4), PS3/Xbox360/Logitech Controllers all charge via mini usb. Both my Tecknet mouse and keyboard as well as my headset use it. In fact, I'm running out of space on my computer to plug everything into. All(4) of my friends who have it for their iPhone/LG G5/V20/Nexus can never find someone to borrow it from. I'm honestly confused and very much curious in how you can possibly call the USB 3.0 Type A outdated.
so are we suppose to wait for surface 5?
No
I have one, and yeah, I bet the new version is close enough to just wait, but damn. I do not regret my purchase at all, in fact, I don't think I've ever had such a reliable laptop / device / whateverYouWannaNameIt
EDIT: granted, I have the i7 edition
xorinzor checking in with the other end of the spectrum, m3 version here. No problems, and performance is great for what I do, but probably not enough for photo/video editing. Storage is enough and fanless is a plus. Gaming is also possible, I've played civ 5 and project m on it no problems.
@xorinzor Yes I am super happy as well, Got the I5 4GB model and use it mostly for study.
xorinzor exactly the same! I dont regret ANYTHING!
I use mine for grad school and have never needed to print or carry a notebook with me ever since.
I have the i5 edition with 8GB/256GB and don't regret the purchase at all.
I don't think this device would be good at all with the m3 edition specs for the stuff I do, but man, it's an amazing device for a programmer, the portability and the keyboard is perfect.
Hey everyone, I'm building my first ever PC and would really like your
input I'm having trouble deciding between the caselabs sm8 and the

just the better product. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Love my Surface Pro 4. Good for sitting in conference rooms taking notes during meetings and also working on your work network at the same time. As a traveller, I also use it to watch movies/TV shows on short or long flights. Only downside is it's not classified as a tablet through airport security because it's too dense for the scanner, so you usually have to take it out and put it in its own bin like a laptop.
Not reviewing it earlier was actually good. I've had the sp4 i5 model since launch and it took MS 6-8 months of updates to fix the issues it shipped with. Granted the device is great to use now. It was a pain at release!
Hey Linus! Thanks for the great review I would like to give my five cents on something you missed out these great little tablets can do! I own sadly only a surface 3 with the cherry trail atom 128gb 4gb ram model.
I bought it because I was tired of Android tablets really not having any valid functionality aside from netflix.
I use my surface to stream games from another room which has my pc and Xbox one. I can stream flawlessly from a power line Ethernet adaptor and the surface 3 dock to plug in a larger screen with the extra USB ports I can plug in a wireless Xbox controller adaptor.
Weather I play a bit of Witcher 3 from pc in bed after a long day, or maybe some gears of war on Xbox or quickly switch to some browsing or netflix. The surface is really holding down its end as a second hand item. I know it's not something people will do largely. But damn it you have a spare room where you can chuck all your electronic devices to leave your room relatively free for comfort and good sleeps. It's a really handy bonus.
Streaming needs to get a bit more light shown on it and how good it actually is.
Thanks linus.
You said nothing about the battery life..
I get around 10-13 Hours with Surface PRO 2 , bought a few weeks after first release
I have a Pro 4, usually get 5-7 hours of use depending on how intense. However if notetaking intensively with the pen this drops down to 4 hours.
I bought it almost a year, still holding 7 hours average.
The 265gb with 8GB ram runs fine Adobe Applications
pro 4 user here. i adjusted the maximum cpu power to 50% on battery. i get 7-9 hours for non-gaming usage without noticeably weaker performance. i would say pro 4 has pretty satisfactory battery
UA-cam needs more people like you, and those other people can review other things that other people are interested in. Linus never lets us down
In my notificaties i see a "tom cook" thumnail and on his channel the normal 'new' linustechtips type thumnail.
Which is the updated one?
Cool video! I'm still rocking my surface pro 2 256gigs i5. No need to upgrade.
But the newer ones are faster with dual cores, and 8 gb ram
No one is gonna mention the screen flicker issue many surface pro 4 users have complained about?
Worsy decision of my life because of that
Yes.
Yup
I bought one of these a year ago to do a bit of drawing in photoshop, and so far it works pretty good.
The price is a bit steep but you get a very good piece of hardware.
This thing completely changed how i manage my job sites. With my old android tablets, or ipad, blueprints and spreadsheets were a nightmare, hell this even puts my macbook pro to absolute shame. My pro4 works flawlessly in all aspects, from markups to red lining prints, to screen shoting and printing specific areas. If you work in construction or work with DWG files, I would highly recommend.
Is the surface 4 good for CAD? I'm considering using it as my main computer for all my engineering classes.
Not a bad Idea, I use Blender and Unity on mine. If I may ask are you using the Surface Pro 4 currently?
@@AndrewMaksymBrainNectar No I'm using a 2015 macbook pro. My older Dell laptop ended up handling most of my CAD programs just fine while I was still in engineering, but when I switched to computer science I got a MacBook.
Anyone watched the preview on "the new surface pro" and came back to rewatch this.
Has anyone had issues with the screen eventually flickering/turning black? I’ve read lots of comments on different tech review forums that this happens after 6+ months or so
Great timing since in am a university student who is currently considering getting a pro 4, writing for a pro 5 or just getting a normal laptop. Was helpful especially your praise of the keyboard as this was one of the things i am most skeptical about and so means a lot for you to say its good. Just wish you could have talked a bit more about waiting for the pro 5 since i expect you guys know a little more about it than the rest of us...
Linus just 'NAILED' it

Where it really falls short is with the dock. It does some really funky things with external displays. Also I still would like some way to get at the internal storage for when these things inevitably die.
I bought a surface pro 2 back in 2014 when I started college. Straight up it's been the best device I have ever purchased outside of my desktop. I have no idea how I would have gotten along at college without it. :D
1:15 I always look up to see the face, but then..
That method of typing with nails annoys me so much.
must cut that shit....
Krisztian5HUN They are fake, if you cut them, they will still be ugly, because they are glued on top of natural nails and are thick AF
It looks like she's violating the keyboard.
Sam Lin did you just assume a keyboards gender #incomingfeminist
Stand up
I've had my SP4 for a year now, purchasing a few months after thinking on the surface book. Here are a few cons to look into...
Although it does have proper cooling, I would not describe it as quiet. Perhaps with some text entry it's fine, but expect your fan to ramp up to 100% whenever you have something coming in on the downstream or writing to disk, or eating up CPU. Idk, it just seems to need to max its cooling at every turn. People say that skin decals, such as from d-brand... don't inhibit its cooling properties, but I doubt that.
Its USB controller leaves ALOT to be desired. Especially when docked. Don't expect to have enough resources or bandwidth when connected to a dock, if it's is connected to a second display and mouse & kb. A jump drive will suffice, but I've always experienced nothing but dropouts when connecting my external ssds. More often then not it fails to recognize that a device is connected. I guess that's what you get for using a 3440*1440 panel (but the same as been observed with 1080 & 720 resolutions). Yes the dock, and additional connected video streams eat up your potential bandwidth for connected devices via usb. Also video output to the second panel is subpar at best, lacking a great deal of clarity.
Normal window 10 complaints and forced updates, when you've got a rock solid device otherwise, and you potentially chance wrecking the whole deal with an update. I'm STILL paranoid over this. And no. Shutting off or deferring updates does not work, no matter who states it. I've deferred updates and seen a 'Install updates and Shutdown" only a week later.
All in all... I wish I had just bought a normal laptop tbh. I started off with writing notes on it. Didn't care for it as I write small, and it never looks all that good in One Note or any other software. It's far easier and quicker to jot something down on paper, or to just record lectures. I wouldn't mind so much if pen support was better such as detecting when using the 'eraser' end of the pen. And more programmable buttons, I'm all about the macros. Since my department isn't filled with douchebags, most everyone shares their notes and resources to the students anyways.
I am a 4th year physics student and have been using my Surface Pro 4 i5/256GB/8GB for almost a whole year now.
When I bought it, it was basically overpriced, but I never regreted getting it, because I use it every day and it stands up to all the tasks I need to do.
In class, I take lecture notes in OneNote or annotate notes or slides from the lecturer using the pen.
I do all my coursework on it and have not had to buy any paper since.
I am on a year abroad and apart from my Lumia 550 phone, I do not own any other computer at the moment and it is my do it all machine.
Only complaints are the easily scratchable back and the pen tips, which are not durable at all.

I've been using the Surface 4 256GB/i5/8G model for about four months now as a college student and I love it! if anyone has any questions I'd be happy to answer them.
I have had my surface pro 4 since release and absolutely love it! I got $400 off the price for being a student and a sale that was going on. I5 256gb variant. I have not experienced any issues or slowdown. The battery did start to diminish after a year but best buy gave me a new surface before my warranty ended. Anyways I give a thumbs up to Microsoft for constructing a reliable product.

The Surface Pro 4 is a awesome piece of kit and everytime I use mine it still amazes me, the speed of boot up is crazy. Its a overall do everything type computer and a wonder to use. Hey I even installed android on mine for some touch screen games like RollerCoaster Tycoon.
I am hoping they will add a USB-C 3.1 connector to the next surface. Another think I think they need to add on the next model is a cellular connectivity option like on the Surface 3.
"somewhat dated I/O..."
Hey look! The new Surface Pro (5) still has the same I/O!
I came here just because the title says Surface pro 5
Well-made! Nice tech video - that is: I think your jokes are funny most of the time and laughed sometimes. Also, I like you pretty much absolute honesty and the way you reason almost everything - still the review remains informative - I guess you could call it infotainment ... Idk - maybe it's only for infotainment systems in cars ... - anyways - one great video once again - just wanted to express that very clearly! I like the way your videos are made...!
The 1 USB port is ok if you use the Surface Dock which uses the power connector as a data transfer as well which i like. Surface is developed for business so they wanted to have portability at the same time having functionality with the dock being an add-on but one that you need
4:56 WTF
Ok, whats happening Im commenting before ive whatched The video. This is life now.
Hey Linus, love the content. Could you maybe do another video that's a full home nas build and setup? Your current one is a little outdated (2014) and I think that having / building a nas is a super important topic for a lot of your viewers, me included. Thanks!
I was wondering when this review was going to come out. I also want to see Linus review the Vaio S, Vaio Z Flip, Vaio Z, and Vaio Z Canvas.
That apple roast lmao

Last time I was this early, Linus was reviewing Fire Truck toys
The Surface Pro is not for everyone, but it has filled my needs quite nicely. I use it for art (when illustrating in Photoshop), writing (when doing language study), and typing (when on the go).
this channel is so amazing. I am not an extremely tech-affine person who's updating anything on a yearly basis but Linus' videos do actually entertain me and keep watching on products I am sure I am not consider buying in the first place.
what an achievement - keep on the great work, Linus!
btw: the *dated* USB Type A port is still VERY VERY useful on the go since soooo many people use type a usb ports. Whether you are in school, university or work....USB Type A is a necessity.
im starting to feel like Linus cant do a video without atleast 1 pun in it :D
btw i see 78 likes and 25 views
wtf
youtube. you can like it before its counted as a "view"...
emergcon yeah everyone is like "LOL WTF 98 likes and 40 views" like because a server can count thousands of views per second.but it can count a few likes coming in every few seconds
yea you hsve to refresh your website for the views can appear on your screen because its not a live view(live streams have live view counts)

I bought the i7 16gb 256gb SSD when they first came out, this thing is amazing and definitely recommended for any college student, even and especially engineering students, I take all my notes on it, and it will run AutoCAD, solidworks, Matlab, Java, cc+, etc, you get the idea. it is amazing and with a single $6 USB and mini display port dongle-thingy you can get 3 more USB 3.0, a display port, and HDMI port as well as 1gb Ethernet. the added USB plug on the charge brick doesn't allow data but is great for charging up a phone. I do not regret my decision in buying it in the least
I have one, it's absolutely fantastic for math and computer notes that use symbols you can't easily type. super snappy, it's honestly the most happy I've been with a laptop / device purchase.
And the ASUS Transformer 3 Pro T303UA? Is almost the same and you can play games thanks to the Thunderbolt 3 and the dock of asus, you can make a review of this :D
but does it have the mechanical keyboard? yes this one does have a mechanical one, linus didn't mention it
Comparing the prices, screen and better touch support, I personally would never choose Transformer 3. Buying the Pro 4 was the best choice I have ever made.
Syed Mohammed Ali Muddassir Quadri in
Linus, why do you have such a fetish for USB-C? USB-A is still much more useful for the everyday person. I personally only know 3 people who have USB-C items, and they're all phones. Walk into any office supply store looking for portable storage, and you're walking out with a USB 2.0(!) drive. There's no point for USB-C if you're picking a single port. (No, dongles aren't acceptable.)
While I'm at it, its hard to make multiple charging ports on devices. If the mag-charger is good, don't complain about no USB-C charging. One or the other, just like every other device.
USB-C is a better plug. We just need more support for it. The ideal would be having both on every laptop and similar.
USB A is dead? That's weird, if I type 'USB Flash Drive' into Amazon, it shows me loads of USB A devices, and no USB C...
USB C might be a better connector, but sacrificing literally two decades of backwards compatibility means adoption will take ages. Eventually it may happen, but right now USB A is still the most useful, compatible, and cheap, connector out there.
usb-c with thunderbolt is the most powerful connector ever. Basically 4 pcie 3.0 lanes. and usb a can be had with a cheapo 7 euro passive adapter cable. if you have an issue with that then you are stupid.
usb a obviously isn't dead, i dont even have any devices that use thunderbolt, however, i do see the power and potential for thunderbolt (even now). Imagine the surface pro tethered to a razer core, or practical uses as for hooking up to a monitor or music production cases where as there is now this trend of more and more music production devices using thunderbolt (this trend in general for thunderbolt use cases will grow and as that trend grow with more and more products being developed with support for thunderbolt [apple forcefully spearheading that charge], as long as the device you buy has thunderbolt it will obviously send that device further into the future(proof)).
James Erath thunderbolt is super insecure. It's awesome but needs work
I've used my 128Gb with 4Gb Ram m3 procesor for freelance software developing, runs Eclipse as well as the app and database servers perfectly. I bought a 5 port Usb 3.0 hub for $10 which I use on my desk, and while mobile I use the pen for notetaking and a cheapo bluetooth keyboard which is too small to work with for prolonged periods but for quick meetings serves pretty well. Also at my desk I use a cheap miniDP to DVI to connect a 20" monitor, but I've seen people connect 2 or 3, aside from the actual built-in screen.
The only problems I've had have been some blue screens because of overheating (I was playing LoL to be fair) but aside from that it's an amazing mobile tool. Also since it's kinda rare at least in Mexico it makes quite an impact since it's so sleek and stylized. Almost everyone I meet gets curious and when I show how much it can do they are surprised and very pleased.
i use it for university...taking notes with a laptop has always been a bit of a challenge if you have too work with equations of math in general...here the surface really shines. with no doubt it was the perfect choice for me as a student. only negative point, and here i really disagree with linus, is the touchpad. the rightclick sometimes doesn't work and recognizes the click as a leftclick.
Who is the women doing the visual demonstrations?
I am Lord Gaben! the new girl that was in the wan show ( i think she is called max, but i am not sure)

Would you recommend getting this for a budget tablet for a student writing essays and searching the web, now!? Not sure I can justify getting the pro 6
I'm trying to decide between an iPad and a surface pro. Can I use an external hdd on an iPad? To watch movies and shows purchased with itunes. If not can a surface pro run the pc version of itunes that would allow me to watch my purchased itunes content on a portable hdd? Also is it possible to connect portable optical drives like an external DVD or blu ray player to a surface pro?
Worst laptop_surface pro 4:I am a student and uses surface pro 4. Just recently the screen of my laptop started flickering and now the screen is totally unusable. I need to connect to an external display to read texts without the flickering screen.
It just started few months back, I did everything Microsoft tech guys asked including hard reset..still the problem persists...and i dont have a warranty anymore
The customer service are now suggesting replacement- ohh yeah., its gonna cost 450Euros..
Microsoft...u guys made the laptop without much R&D...please own your mistakes..thats what a good company do (if you dont remember).. hope that surface line up doesn't end up like surface phones
Otherwise you will loose your customers...We are the ones giving reviews..( i have already reviewed many places the same way)...Remember-Samsung still has their name even though they pulled out their note 7.
"In a survey of 90,000 tablet and laptop owners, Consumer Reports found that roughly 25 percent of Surface users have encountered “problems by the end of the second year of ownership.” Those problems include freezing, unexpected shutdowns, and touchscreen response issues."( courtesy THE VERGE)..
Ohh yeah I would include screen flickering to this list..
\
Yea, same thing happened to me here.
Although my screen is usable but I am annoyed by the flickering.
#flickergate.
I've started experiencing it myself this week. Heating issue. I've heard 2 reasons, 1. general overheating. 2. battery swelling.

Guys, I have a problem: I have a Surface pro 4 i5 8GB and when I connect a 4K display or my Corsair Voyager GTX 128GB, the wifi connection doesn't work. The surface is connected to WiFi, but downloads fail for example. a replacement surface had the same problem. btw the device is fully updated.
I am about to purchase the surface pro 4 for taking quick notes/ googling things at work. I will be most dependent on its ability to be closed and opened up again and again, so can anyone tell me how well does the standby option works? Will it drain my battery super quickly if I don't completely shut down the computer during my working day?

I believe that there is a setting in either Windows 10 or in Onenote that disables all touch input when it detects the pen. Extremely useful.
Unless you want to create perfectly straight diagonal lines in Onenote. (Don't ask how I did it.)
I've notice since the surface pro 4 prices have went down, so have the surface pro 3 prices as well, do you guys think that the surface pro 3 is still a good choice to get? Especially for note taking, drawing and light gaming?
Pls, no more nails!!!!!!!!
No nails on my amateur channel if you wanna check out my fresh painfully amateur channel, I could use the subs and the exposure!
Video Game Beat Off what
keep them theyre nice
The nails are fine, but typing speed and accuracy seem to suffer
I've never understood the appeal of Witch nails? They don't tend to look good and they are just inconvenient for the person with the nails and anyone dealing with them.
Those fake pink nails are just bad.
Good thing you don't have to wear them then.
I thought the same thing.
skinlo01 NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES WE SAY IT LINUS DOESNT LISTEN
I agree, they suck
Dan Imagine they do things with you....
Do you think a Surface Pro 4 is worth that heavy price-tag, when I could get a MSI stealth pro which is almost same size ? My other Surface Pro 4 question, could I watch a Math-learning video on part of the screen while jotting down notes with surface pen at the same time ?
Dude, finally you've seen the light. I only got mine in the boxing day sales to replace an Xperia Z2 tablet. As a complete experience when you embrace the Microsoft services, you won't find a more portable powerhouse. I only use mine for personal use as a tablet replacement and have not regretted the investment ( despite the hefty price after discount ).
Rumour has it the next one will really break the bank so for what I need I couldn't get a bigger bang for my worthless Pound Sterling 😁
I don't like the fake nails, very distracting.
CGI finger nails :D
I agree, in the next review Linus should go with a darker shade of fake fingernails, either that or not wear them at all.
well thats your problem then
Name it *Surface Pro 4 Tested* and you will guarantee to have lots of dislikes
wow you were actually first
That would be so misleading. Preview is the word you are looking for. No confusion there 😂
But he is actually testing the surface 4 you numbskull
deXxterlab97 hi from the forums
Hey guys I'm going to upload a video called Ryzen 5 tested without a Ryzen 5!
I have one however have never been able to use it as it does not function with it on charge or just on battery or will not even power on.
I bought mine (the M4 with 4GB RAM) half a year ago for 800 SFr.- (=$ more or less) including the pen and (!) the keyboard. What an amazing product for that price. For my needs it's just perfect, never really feels sluggish because for me it was an upgrade for my Note 10.1 2014 android tablet and that's what I compare it to. It's not a laptop replacement (I have a gaming PC for all things that need power) it's really a mobile Tablet PC thing for me. So it needs to be light, fanless and a good Touchscreen with pen support (which I use a lot), but then with the keyboard and full desktop OS I can do real work when I need it!
If you want a good mobile computer (with all the features a mobile computer needs in 2017 imho) this is definately the way to go. And the prices are just great now.
Am i the only one who isnt happy with the "nails" presentation? dont hate her or her nails, just not been liking it for a while now
I completely agree with you; this is a technology channel, not a beauty contest.
It's probably a way for them to gain more women viewers, or something. But yeah, it's super awkward, looks like a pain in the ass to type like that. The whole typing with the bottom of your fingers, trying to avoid your nails, instead of typing with the tips of your fingers.
i think she does the b roll. so its her nails.
What are you saying?!?!?!
I'll say it then. I hate her nails.
woot woot LTT early group

I actually used my Surface Pro 4's rear camera today! I took a picture of my classmates' completed Accounting assignment to copy. I thought I had already found all the ways that this thing is useful in college lol
B B nice, plagiarism is an awesome way to prepare for a career, as a Democrat politician, singer or left wing Hollywood producer
ColYUSAF06 Hahaha We actually have a free market set up. It wasn't a redistribution of answers, but part of a system of voluntary transactions that we agree to without government interference.
This class is tough in a mini-term. I usually make the best study guides for everyone for each test, and we help each other and sometimes divide up the massive amounts of online homework.
ColYUSAF06 If you're trying to find a leftist to trigger, you're talking to the wrong guy. I'll never call for the government to give me anything I haven't earned, especially when 64% of the federal budget is spent on entitlements.
I'm looking for photography work on the go. I notice this has USB 3.0 while my DSLR is 2.0. Will the 2.0 cable work fine with the 3.0 port? I know it would be slower, but would it still work? I need to know if I can get my photos from DSLR to computer. Thanks.

I seriously cannot understand why Windows hello is "amazing"
I can type my password faster than that AND, I really think that the Touch ID implementation on the new MacBook Pro is better.
Thought the same then got a SP4 ... It recognizes me faster than i can type my 4 digits PIN, even in full dark (Infrared camera), it truly is awesome
Passwords are getting really outdated nowadays, to be replaced with other methods of identification like fingerprint or face recognition. Look at all the newer smartphones nowadays, all of them have fingerprint identification for convenience.
Jeremy Clarkson theres a keyboard cover that has a fingerprint sensor on it that cost like $30 so there problem solve for you
I'm sure technology is progressing but everytime that Linus shows Windows Hello it seems slow.
I didn't mean to say it's useless
is the bluetooth / wifi issue fixed in this version? (if you are using bluetooth mouse..netflix streaming becomes painfully slow over wifi on sp3 )
Is it just me or did her not really answer the question posed in the title? Like still don't have any information about whether to wait for the Surface Pro 5 or not??
you guys need to start a gaming channel
channelsuperfun
no I mean gaming like video games
Papadingdong Found the middle schooler
+Papadingdong They do not "need" a gaming channel. I'm pretty sure they live stream games on Twitch quite often if you want to see them play games.
I have a gaming/tech channel, and based on the WAN, Id love to hear Linus and Luke play games together! It would help me learn some new things.
Late as always
Be fair. We are not always THIS late. 18 months after launch is a new high (low?) for us :)
The high is Wan Show (if that counts) but the timestamps aren`t the best........
Im late all the time, 5 hours usually.
I love my Pro 4, and yes my only gripe is io. Also i've never used the displayport, wish it was thunderbolt instead. Perhaps instead of display/thunder, its a usb-c port, otherwise, I love this thing.
what keyboard is that connected to his surface, the white light one
