Very impressive ! Very great studio tour, nice shots of the gear. Over all Quality is on point. Great job from all of you. What I liked was, u get to a point very soon and dont talk as much about things and persons u may know or not, as some dudes do. Mostly they named warren. :D love it !
David "no bullshit" in da house !
Have a marvellous time recording David! haha
Awww man ... I feel bad laughing. Warren is great, good natured dude. But yes his tendency to talk about himself gets old fast. Gotta respect this studio tour. although credit to the owner since he's able to cary it well -- and without English being his first language.
I watch this video once every year since it's release. It was my dream to work with Zdar. RIP.
RIP Zdar. What a genius.
I came to this video today to study one of my favorite engineers, and sadly learned he was dead. this hurts, man. RIP Zdar. You were an amazing influence on myself and the music world in general.
Integrity always pays off.... Hands down Mr. Philippe. and RIP
i come back to watch this every few months. it's become somewhat of a comfort watch to be honest. i just wanna say thank you for arranging this and i'm so very glad you were able to have such an experience with this wonderful human being and share it with us while he was still here. this video should be in the millions of views imo. philippe forever ♡
Honestly, this is the best and most sincere studio tour on the internet and beyond. He was a shy person and as the tour went on and you discussed equipment, he opened up and shared his knowledge and wisdom. You too have a similar character, in the sense that you don't take any BS from no-one and you are confident because you simply know your *hit ! Thanks for this:)
Mr. Philippe was a gentle soul and a bright spirit and always a joy to work with. we will cya soon brother.. RIP
Rip. We lost a huge talent today.
Such a legend and gentleman
How does something like that happen? I'm not trying to be morbid or crude but was it dark? Was he drunk? So strange and there is just no info available besides, "he accidentally fell thru a top floor window." I understand that's not impossible, it's just really strange.
@@AnodyneHipsterInfluencer its just heartbreaking
@@AnodyneHipsterInfluencer Nah evidently it was an accident. Very odd way to die though. I mean how often is that reported?
@@AnodyneHipsterInfluencer yeah...it's beyond peculiar to me as well. Paris must have some weak ass glass windows that music producers love to go stepping on in the middle of the day or night. DJ Medhi died the same exact way. 🤦♂️
Came back to say rest in peace. This is one of my favorite studio tours to watch on youtube and was/is so inspiring. Condolences to those near to him and may they find strength in their weakness.
Rip. Always sad when the world looses such a passion.
If you get a chance to see his Mix With The Masters video, the mix he does for the band Phoenix is STUNNING (he recorded and produced it in his studio) And his process was incredibly complex and detailed. What a master craftsman he was. Wish I had met him before he died.
He died??
Yes@@freesoul2895
Just magic! ;)
oh god rest in peace, french touch forever, nice studio tour memory.. lov
A big loss, for a lot of reasons. He has made a lot of things, every musician, producer or dj, has ever look for in an entire life and he did it very well, as a true Music's lover. Thank you Mr. Zdar
What a gorgeous room. Just the wood panels every. Ah man. Aside from all the gear even, that must be a joy to work in.
It seems clear that Philip strictly follows a personal, excellent and cultivated sound taste, opposite to the "we have everything so everyone is happy" trend of other studios. The setup makes all the sense in the world. This was a great learning experience because of how streamlined, well thought is every aspect, and the passion (for both parts) along all the interview, that ended up being a totally honest, full disclosure commentary on practical applications of some of the best audio treasures out there..Amazing studio, amazing gear, top video. Thank you very much!
Cassius has been a huge influence on me and Zdar's work with other artists has been amazing. RIP Zdar
J'aurait adoré discuter avec lui posé sur la bute Montmartre 🖤...RIP legends never die 🤞🏼🙏🏼😢
Philippe is a master and a great guy!!!
I was so sad. I grew up listenting in a loop an album he and hubert produced, the first mc solaar album. Then later i decided to buy all his album and i wanted to know who were this guy. Then i discoverd cassius , buy the first album and delt in love with. A school friend who were doing sound departement studies, meet him for a internship, mostly because we was curius who was behind phenix, he told me he was very nice , humble and a teacher in a soul. Since that i saw cassius in live, bught all the album and i will buy the other artist album for sure, for first with motorbass to last or recent. It’s all my life tastes and music i grewed up with, i had no favourite people in music, in later on that was cassius and phillipe. Right know i have a poster from the last album, dreems, who is proudly stand into my wall and i will enjoy for ever, rock non stop. R.i.p. phillipe.
15:42 He might have prophesied the end here. 🙏
Loved how he low key stated “this all is the end of an era”...seems like plugins are even getting die hards to face the modern reality. I’m hybrid in my studio, best of both worlds
Damn I just learned about this man, reading an interview about the making of Hot Sauce Committee Part 2, and I got super excited reading out his way of working and mind set, so I Google him and find out he left us too soon. RIP.
Now digging into his work I haven’t heard will be bitter sweet.
Same story.
Still listen to this legend after 1 year ❤️
"I think I am done with the studio" lol 🤣
Never get tired of this video.
the passion from these guys is palpable..thankyou for this
J'arrive pas à m y faire que des légendes disparaissent... c est pour cela que je préférerais juste dire "magnifique" .... RIP....cette vidéo m a fait du bien et du mal... love mixbus ... thx man for your passion, knowledge and humanity...
Again, David you have given us front row seats to another masterpiece. Thank you.
R.I.P. Philippe! May your soul keeps on producing such great music somewhere in heaven.
Homeboy showed up wearing a tank top… what a gangster!
Toop Toop (Reggae Rock mix) is still a beast of a track. Bass, vocals, everything sounds just right, and wild.
Thanks for the great service you provide. How I wish your videos were around when I started.. live sound in 91' we were thrown into the fire, started recording in 96' had to learn as we went along. Kida the same when I bought my first DAW in 2005. It took a while to really wrap my brain around it and sometimes it feels like I'm still wrapping. thanks again
Wish Zdar was still here! ❤
My favorite studio tour on the web thus far. I look forward to seeing more from your channel. Keep em' up!!
Drool. David you are driving me freaking nuts. There are studios that us mere mortals do not have access to. I'm very inspired!
Amazing interview! What an impressive guy! So sad he passed away. RIP
What a tragic end Phillippe. I'm shocked and I wanted to write something about how good my introduction to this channel, by enjoying this video, was. I'll save that for another time.
I hope you will find peace, you're awesome.
R.I.P - Such a tragedy, guy reached the top before he left us :)
Disclaimer: I'm not being cocky but "guy reached the top before he left us :)" is that supposed to be a crude joke about the nature of his passing?
@@AnodyneHipsterInfluencer no
How did he die?
Hi: This is your best episode! I love that French engineer’s spirit too!
Rest in peace
Excellent filming and editing, I hope you can keep the quality up in the future episodes!
Absolutely great to see a philosophy of great studios and people, that work in there!
R.I.P. to an incredible musical talent!
Beautiful studio! Merci Mixbus for this video!
What a cool and brilliant guy. Thanks for this.
Damn man this guy has the perfect studio, such great gear, love the tube stuff, he has great taste.
@@mixbustv I bet that the EMI compressor sounds good just about anything. And what about the pultec grand daddy, that thing must sound amazing. Hey I watched this with the on screen text and it was pretty funny, when he would say studio the text would read shoe. Just one of many miss-translations, this was great video though Zdar is an awesome engineer.
😂 “it’s a nightmare,.. but I love it”……This how most men feel about their wives 😂😂
Rest In Peace Philippe...so sad !!!
I liked this a lot. I hope you'll do more of this. I think it's good that you're starting to get in front of the camera. You're good at it.
That’s a beautiful watch.
was very cool. We can tell you took a real pleasure being here and we can feel it through the video.
Thanks for taking the time to do this, and thank you Phillipe for sharing the knowledge!
I love this guy, such a good vibe. RIP Zdar
Awesome Video , Studio and a hospitable host!
So sad to lost one great Producer and nice Man.
I love your videos Mix Buss Tv, always awesome, thanks for sharing.
Ah man, this great guy is gone?!. Dam. You made some great music sir!. RIP
Thank you so much for this tour. So awesome!!
Omg I'd like to learn from this guy. Absolute Analog Expert. That gear is Legendary, all of the most iconic tools of Music Industry. Luving this ✌️🔥
He is sadly not w us anymore
@@hippisarecool I've heard.. it's sad
💐nice studio 💐
hero!!!!
this dude is the man
This was so cool Dave, please do more vids like this and Philip, merci beacoup de nous avoir agree dans ton studio emerveillant. Sallut du NB, Canada.
Had the chance to meet him and to go to this studio quiet often around 2010, listening to few tracks of mine, amazing studio, amazing vibes
excellent filming and interview !!!!
This was amazing David, good job. Thanks a lot for sharing, I've been waiting to see this
What a humble walkthrough. Great mix of education and inspiration in this video, great work.
another great gift dude! I didn't expect that at all. gonna watch it right now.
cheers David
Quality video, always wanted to see something like this. Thanx
A dream of a studio! Great studio tour! Love it.
Amazing stuff very inspiring
wow that's really cool
and such a cozy recording room!
A studio tour of Johnny Marr's studio would be dope! That is if you can get a hold of him or if he'd be down for that.
8:40 - the B80 Mothership is by far the best sounding AD/DC & clock I've ever used. It looks like he had 16 ins, though - not 24.
sad to his hear this gentleman is gone.
That room is so narrow front-to-back. They just tried to kill the back wall with absorption and diffusion. It looks like it could be a nightmare - especially for the mid-fields. I wonder if there's a massive bass trap/dead room back there behind the racks? I wonder how this room sounds?
The goat
Such a great dude! 🙏🏽
I love the philosophy of the man. The recording room is perfect, with plenty of wood, it's alive !
The best place where I played the guitar was in a full wood floor and furniture living room. It sounded so natural and pleasant to the ear that I couldn't stop playin. For me, it has to be fun, exctiting, because perfection is boring as fuck.
Are machines fun? I don't think so :P
Genius
Amazing job David, now you're putting real work. Lol
holy god do they need all these to master a song? while others uses just plugins wow the studio is incredibly hot. i wish i have the budget.
KILLER upload!
Thank you.
Is this heaven?
Mixbus Tv is the Shit for real love this channel dude. This was an amazing studio
Holy shit, man. GREAT VIDEO!!!!!
This is all so important if you appreciate what it means to the origins of music
Amazing.
Woah there’s like a doorway made of pultecs
wow what a great studio
very nice video
Magnifique...
great studio, great guy, Legend! thank you
RIP to the great Phillipe Zdar
This was awesome. Camera work was difficult, but the explanations and passion made up for it. RIP to the guy, seemed very knowledgeable and passionate.
Rip. This made me really sad. What an amazing individial.
What a great guy, would love work in this studio one day!
