These statues look amazing! So for anyone looking to pick up these supplies, the two tricky items to find are the 9x12 tarp and the Krylon Satin Jade paint. My local hardware stores, craft stores, auto parts stores, Targets and Walmarts didn't have either of these. I didn't want to pay over $20 shipped for the tarp and $18 shipped for one can of Jade paint on Amazon so I did find the 9'x12' tarp at my local Harbor Freight for $15. As for the Jade paint. checked everywhere that was indicated as a Krylon retailer on their website and came up empty. And I live in SoCal so I have everything located within driving distance. I just picked up a can of Rustoleum Seaside Satin which is slightly more blueish so hopefully it turns out ok.
This is all GREAT intel, thank you so much! I'm sorry that some of the materials were so tricky to find, it sounds like you've got great solutions so I hope it all comes together the way you'd like! When I made these I was able to find the Drop Cloths and Spray Paint at Lowe's, I'll have to check in on their stock and see if it's changed. Let me know how it ends up going when you make your statue!
It looks as though there's a piece of cloth across the "chest" area. Did you place something there? Also, how did you make the canvas stand out around the head before spraying?? Thank you!
I’m pretty sure he folded where the head is to make the hood and maybe stapled the folded cloth to the neck area idk ima try this out this year for halloween
Like @chelsiekayloving said, I also would love to see how you put the drop cloth on like that. I just purchased all the materials and am at the drop cloth stage but it doesn’t look anything like that and 9x12 seems to be far too big and heavy as well.
Getting some of the supplies for this as I would REALLY like to make a few for Halloween. Curious on the canvas, did you cut the part that goes over the head and drape the rest over the shoulders? I am the type of person that has very little creativity but with step by step instructions I do pretty well.
Thank you! I didn’t spray the inside, just the outside - the liner spray seeps into the fabric and makes it strong enough when sprayed from the outside
Nope! I didn’t cut it at all - I folded back the first foot and a half or so and draped that part over the head to create a more distinct hood, but otherwise the canvas is intact and not cut anywhere
During the spray section, it looks like there is an old shirt or cloth around the bottom of the neck area. Is there something else or other fabric around the shoulder/neck area?
@@BrandonHardyArt at the 25 second mark there really does appear to be a different fabric under the canvas. I’m struggling to replicate this. Could you do a more detailed video about how you got the fabric draped so well?
Hey I have one thing for you to make! Could you try making a 6-foot Raggedy Ann puppet? Raggedy Ann is my favorite character and I would like to see a puppet that would move its mouth blinks its eyes is that possible for you to make?
I believe they were 6 feet, but I chopped some off at the end to make them all slightly different heights. They all still ended up between 5 and 6 feet though.
@@JamesSeay-m7f Yes! Mine have lasted for 3 Halloween seasons already - I store them outside in a corner of my yard, I touch up the paint a little as needed when I pull them back out but otherwise no trouble
Can we get a detailed video on how you put the drop cloth on like that?

How did they turn out with the Seaside Satin color?
Would love to see a more detailed instructions on how you applied the canvas to the structure.
Yeah it looks like two not one…
@xSGTxHATREDx I believe it is because his is pretty tall
That’s f in cool… great idea. I’d shit myself if one of em scares me 🤣
Love these! How did you store these after halloween?

Can I use Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Flat Black Textured Spray Paint instead of the truck bed liner spray?
Yes
Hey!! I saw your video on the homemade haunted mansion, could you please show me on how to do Constance! You did amazing!
Absolutely love these. Great job. Did you spray the inside of the canvas as well
Thank you! I didn’t spray the inside, just the outside - the liner spray seeps into the fabric and makes it strong enough when sprayed from the outside
@BrandonHardyArt thanks so much. I appreciate it. I'm going to give it my best. The hardest part is probably moving them without messing up the canvas
What size wood is that? Did you have to do anything special to the head for it to fit??@@BrandonHardyArt
Did you cut the fabric a certain way before putting it on?

Hi, how many cans of truck liner spray did you use?
For each statue I used about 1 and a half - I got the cans at Lowe’s for around $10 each
@@BrandonHardyArt Thank you ! Love your video !
@@dreamer91763 Thank you so much!
I will attempt to make two this week! How did you keep the cloth from sliding off??

@@Vaughn6886 Nope - I folded the drop cloth over on itself to create the impression of the hood, but I didn’t use any additional fabric
@@BrandonHardyArtawesome! Thank you for the info and response

Do you have tutorial on your patreon?
About how long/tall is that stick you’re starting with?

@@BrandonHardyArt thank you!
@@derekworley9698 You’re welcome! Honestly you can make them any size you want, they can be bigger or smaller, whatever suits you
Do these stand up to the weather for awhile?

@BrandonHardyArt awesome and thanks
